Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Eyes of Mutation, Bonds of Ramen

The training matches continued, but Reiji Arata was no longer watching.

He sat under a tree at the edge of the training field, seemingly relaxed—yet his gaze was locked firmly on the blue holographic window floating in front of him.

[Ding! Mission accomplished! You have defeated Sasuke Uchiha three times and fulfilled the conditions.]

[Reward: Sharingan (Lv.1) Unlocked]

[Would you like to merge the Sharingan with your optic nerves now? Warning: You do not possess Uchiha blood. Mutation is highly probable.]

Reiji's brows rose slightly.

"Hmph... so the mutation thing's real, huh?"

He tapped the confirmation option mentally.

[Merging Sharingan with visual system… complete.][Due to lack of Uchiha bloodline and possession of Uzumaki vitality, mutation has occurred.]

[Sharingan Appearance: Hidden. Your eyes remain visually unchanged, but Sharingan functions are fully integrated.][New Trait Acquired: Spiritual Overclock – Uzumaki vitality now protects against ocular strain.]

[Current Sharingan Level: 1 → 100 (Skill points applied automatically).]

[Evolution Complete: Mangekyō Sharingan Awakened.][Side Effect Nullified: Vision loss permanently prevented due to mutation and system upgrade.]

Reiji's pupils shimmered faintly for a heartbeat, his natural blue irises briefly overlaid by a whirl of glowing rings and patterns. The patterns vanished as quickly as they came, leaving his eyes perfectly normal—save for a barely noticeable electric-blue hue.

But new text scrolled across the system.

[Ding! Mangekyō Sharingan Ability Overview]

[Left Eye – Anantashūnyō• Ability: Absolute Spatial Control• Effect: Automatically generates an invisible field of limitless resistance. No object, chakra, technique, or individual can make direct contact with the user unless permitted.• Comparable to: "Infinity" – Host becomes untouchable.]

[Right Eye – Anantashūnyō• Ability: Genjutsu Domain Expansion• Effect: When activated, traps all targets within line of sight into a suspended genjutsu space. Time appears frozen to them; their bodies cannot move, their chakra cannot flow. The host remains unaffected and free to act.• Comparable to: "Unlimited Void" – Domain of total perception lock.]

[System Notice: Though both eyes bear the name Anantashūnyō, they represent two halves of a singular concept—space and perception. Only when wielded together can their full potential be realized, forming a complete domain where reality itself bends to the user's will.]

Reiji blinked slowly.

"What am I... a cheap knockoff of Gojo Satoru?" he thought wryly, staring at his reflection in a nearby puddle. No one would know what his eyes truly held unless he chose to show them.

A perfect disguise.

A perfect weapon.

Meanwhile, back on the field…

"I-I got distracted!" Kiba whined, glaring at Naruto. "That transformation was cheating!"

"I call it strategy, dattebayo!" Naruto grinned proudly, flexing his arm.

ruka cleared his throat. "Alright, everyone. Matches are over for today."

Students started gathering, some talking excitedly about Naruto's crazy transformation, others whispering about Reiji's shocking performance against Sasuke.

Iruka gave a quick nod to the group. "Good work today. Everyone made progress—especially you, Reiji."

Reiji gave a modest shrug, though his eyes betrayed a knowing amusement.

"But," Iruka added, turning stern, "Reiji, I have to speak with you seriously. What you said about the Uchiha… that's not acceptable."

The laughter died down.

Iruka folded his arms. "I know you didn't mean harm, but the Uchiha clan was wiped out unjustly. We should never make light of such pain. The dead deserve our respect."

Reiji lowered his head briefly.

"…You're right, Iruka-sensei. I went too far," he said softly.

Iruka nodded, pleased by the sincerity.

Naruto, oblivious to the heavy air, threw his arm around Reiji's shoulder. "But seriously, that kick! What was it?! You gotta teach me that move, come on, please! Pretty please with ramen on top!"

Reiji smirked. "Only if you manage to hit me first. Until then, no spoilers."

"You're the worst!" Naruto whined.

Iruka chuckled, shaking his head. "Well, you two were standouts today… so, how about we celebrate with some ramen? My treat."

"YES!" Naruto jumped with a fist pump.

"You're the best, sensei!"

As they headed out of the academy grounds, Reiji noticed Hinata lingering by the fence. She shuffled forward nervously.

"R-Reiji… um… y-you were… amazing today…" she whispered.

He smiled softly. "Thanks, Hinata."

"I-I was cheering for you," she said with a bright red face, poking her fingers together.

"Noted," he replied with a wink, causing her to practically squeak before scampering away.

Naruto looked between the two, then grinned. "Ooooh, Reiji's got a fan~!"

"Don't start," Reiji said, pushing Naruto playfully.

They arrived at Ichiraku Ramen just as the evening glow turned golden. Teuchi welcomed them warmly.

"Ah, Iruka-sensei! Naruto! And… you've brought a new regular?"

"Three miso bowls, extra chashu!" Naruto shouted, sliding onto the stool.

As the steam wafted up from the counter, Iruka leaned in.

"Reiji, I wanted to say something else," he said in a quiet voice. "You've come far. But remember, this world isn't kind to prodigies who act recklessly."

Reiji raised an eyebrow.

"I'm not trying to hold you back," Iruka clarified. "Just… don't let power isolate you. Naruto used to think strength was all that mattered. But what saved him—was people who cared."

"I understand," Reiji said, surprising Iruka with how sincere he sounded.

"And Naruto," Iruka turned to him next, "don't go around using that jutsu so openly!"

"Why not?! Even you got knocked out by it!" Naruto snickered.

Iruka choked on his tea. "Th-that was different!"

Reiji burst out laughing. "He's not wrong, sensei."

"Ungrateful brats…" Iruka muttered, rubbing his forehead—but he was smiling too.

The three of them ate in comfortable silence for a while, the rich flavors of broth and noodle filling their senses.

It was a strange peace.

For Reiji, it was new. He never had friends like this on Earth. Never had someone pay for his meal just because he'd done a good job. Never felt like he belonged.

Yet here he was.

And as they stepped outside under the twilight sky, Reiji paused.

His eyes flicked to the rooftops.

Empty.

But he was sure—for just a moment—someone had been watching them.

Not an enemy.

Not yet.

But a presence.

Something to investigate later.

"Let's go, slowpoke!" Naruto shouted.

Reiji caught up.

His Sharingan was awakened, invisible and perfect. His eyes had mutated, becoming divine tools.

His body bore Uzumaki vitality. His mind bore Earth's memories.

And now… he had something worth protecting.

This world was his now.

And it would never be the same again.
