Humanity's unrestrained greed births a monstrous creation that turns on its makers, pushing the world to ruin. In the final days of civilization, Dr. Val activates a last-ditch "system"—an "overpowering AI designed to find a worthy host and carry the hope of survival into a new age.
As enemies breach the collapsing lab, Val sacrifices himself to finish the system's upload, destroying the facility to protect it from falling into enemy hands.
The system's chosen host: Rocky—a dead man buried in a cemetery. Reborn into a world in ashes, Rocky wakes with no memories, haunted by fragmented visions of the past and burdened with a single command:
