Chapter 8: An annoying woman.
" Do you want me to tell your chief that you dared to attack me even after she told you to do nothing but guard me?"
" You..." Hilga's expression turned worried. If the chief knew that she had let her anger cloud her judgement like that then she'd be punished for sure, not to mention that it was actually the son of the lord of the north that she had almost hurt.
Even if it was only a probing action, she knew that the other orcs wouldn't let this go so easily.
In the end Hilga turned quiet yet her expression looked like someone being forced to do something they detested.
" What are you doing now? Weren't you going to sleep" Hilga frowned when Lucian got up from her lap and stood up.
" And how would I be able to sleep when your making that ugly face?" Lucian rolled his eyes at her.
" You!" Hilga glared at him but Lucian remained unaffected, he turned to face her, then squatted down Infront of her.
"..?!" Hilga stiffened when Lucian suddenly caressed her cheek, his warm, rough, manly hands which were covered in callouses from it's years of training in swordsmanship, sent a tingle down her spine.
" Out of all you ignorant beasts, I happen to find your face the prettiest so that makes it mine."
" And I can't stand to play with my things when they get dirty." His voice sounded more soothing than ever to Hilga yet the hint of possessiveness within made her body tremble. Her female urges working in tandem to overpower her reasoning.

' Mines the prettiest?' Hilga was in a daze, his words leaving her in a mild trance.
Lucian focused on the new notification on Hilga's head and the simple words expanded.
(Familiar: You've shared some time. More than acquaintances, less than friends.)
' So that's how it is.'
' Hahaha, This is easier than I thought. At this rate i might not need the entirety of tomorrow to make her fall for me.'
' A little white lie really does work wonders.'
Lucian sneered inwardly having achieved what he wanted. He stood up and retreated into the cave before sitting down, his back leaning against the inner wall.
Hilga returned to standing at her post. It wasn't too long afterwards before a female orc came to switch shifts with her.
While leaving, Hilga stole a subtle glance of Lucian, when his eyes met her's, the strange feeling in her chest returned.
With Hilga gone, Lucian took the time to size up his new guard. Unlike Hilga, Mona, his new guard, looked more similar to the other orcs, standing at 2.25m, with muscles slightly bigger than hilga's, natural golden eyes and brown braided hair.
Unlike Hilga, Mona carried a broadsword which she rested on her shoulder.
" So your the son of the lord of the north." Mona approached Lucian, her eyes filled with curiosity.
' She's definitely more easy going than the rest'
" And what if I am?" Lucian raised a brow.
" Well you don't look strong. Your muscles look really scrawny." Mona squinted her eyes while staring at Lucian's arm's.
" If your the son of the lord of the north, shouldn't your muscles be bigger than mine?" Mona smirked while showing off her biceps to him.
' Is she really trying to muscle shame me right now.'
" The size of ones muscle doesn't decide how strong they are. Your Orc race may be known for their brute strength but don't forget that your kind still loses to us humans. If muscles were all that mattered then why haven't anyone of you orcs managed to defeat my father." Lucian rolled his eyes. But his obvious irritation didn't do anything to diminish Mona's interest.
" Hmph! Big words coming from a cub who only knows how to rely on his father's name."
" I beg your pardon?" Lucian shot her a cold glare.
Mona flinched but gritted her teeth, standing her ground. " What, did I strike a nerve human."
' She's obviously trying to bait me. But for what?'
' Could the chieftain still be suspicious about my identity even now.' Lucian didn't know why this orc was doing this but he decided to play it safe.
" This is waste of time." Lucian sighed. " An orc like yourself isn't even worthy to face me, besides, why should I bother entertaining you."
" As the son of the lord of the north why not fight me and prove yourself. I refuse to believe that the so called son of the lord of the north would sit idly by while his father's name is being doubted right before his very eyes." Mona pointed her broad sword at Lucian, it's sharp edges gleaming coldly in the dim cave.
Lucian turned silent, a frown on his face as if contemplating her request. " Fine then. I'll fight you but one one condition."
" And that would be?"
" Which ever one of us retreats first loses, moreover, they have to complete any one wish of the winner."
" I'm fine with that! After all, I won't lose." Mona's eyes brimmed with fighting spirit.
" Do you need help untying your binds." Mona pointed her broadsword at his tied up hands but Lucian simply shook his head.
" Hahaha, I see, so your underestimating me then? No matter, I'll force you to take them off and take this fight seriously, just you wait!"
Lucian sighed at her brimming enthusiasm. ' She's a stubborn one but her hot-blooded nature will be her downfall sooner or later.'
" Shall we begin?"
Orcs were normally energetic and battle lusting creatures who loved nothing more than to prove themselves with their strength. Hilga seemed to be rare case who could suppress her urges and instincts with her rationality but Mona didn't seem to be the case.
" Good! I like your style, as a form of acknowledgement, I'll let you have the first strike! Come at me!" Mona stabbed her broadsword into the ground beside her, her arms spread apart.
