Chapter 17 - 17: Magic, Willpower, Emotion: The Transcendent State’s Power

After teaching his foolish roommates a lesson, Tangmu's frustration had mostly vented.

He ordered Laisi Zhasini, Kasal Nuote, and Saiodo Luosiai to wash up and sleep quickly. Once the dorm quieted, he entered the Learning Space.

"What took you so long?" Andeluosuo asked.

After the feast, Tangmu had closed the Learning Space, leaving Andeluosuo unaware of events.

Sighing, Tangmu recounted the dormitory incident. Andeluosuo burst into hearty laughter.

"Reality's more magical than stories. Pure-bloods? Power trumps bloodline."

"You did well, Tangmu. Act decisively when needed. Too light, no lesson. Too heavy, professors notice. You struck the right balance."

"It's not that simple," Tangmu said, shaking his head. "This is just the start. More trouble's coming."

He sighed. "I just want to study… Why Slymerin?"

Andeluosuo sneered. "I didn't want to say this before, respecting your choice, but after reviewing Hogwarts' history, Slymerin's your best fit."

"Why?" Tangmu asked, confused.

Andeluosuo folded his arms, serious: "Knowledge matters, but no wizard ever became the strongest through knowledge alone."

Pointing to his head, he asked, "What's most important for a wizard?"

"Magic, willpower—combined, guided by incantations, they reshape reality," Tangmu replied.

Andeluosuo shook his head. "You're missing emotion."

"Isn't willpower emotion?" Tangmu asked, puzzled.

Magical theory often mentioned will and magic but rarely distinguished emotion.

Andeluosuo smiled, raising his wand. "Expecto Patronum!"

A giant Patronus appeared, radiating pressure. Its voice echoed Andeluosuo's, resonating deeply.

"Powerful magic, unwavering will, abundant emotion."

"Magic is the source—your spellcasting foundation. Will ensures success—stronger will, better channeling. Emotion sets the spell's limit."

"Magic is idealistic. The heart is boundless but needs an anchor—emotion."

"Talent matters, but intense emotion breaks limits, reaching unimaginable heights."

"Slymerin's troubles are a trial, balancing will and emotion. Treasure it."

Andeluosuo's words struck Tangmu, simple yet profound.

Simple—he understood. Profound—it touched magic's essence, hard to internalize.

Tangmu entered the Transcendent State, absorbing Andeluosuo's teachings.

Ten minutes passed.

His vacant eyes regained focus, sharper, more intense.

He raised his wand, mimicking Andeluosuo. "Expecto Patronum!"

Silvery mist erupted, forming a humanoid shape, barely resembling a person, no taller than himself.

Unlike Andeluosuo's towering, clear Patronus, it was rudimentary—but Andeluosuo was impressed.

On their third day of Patronus practice, Tangmu had formed a solid Patronus, which Andeluosuo shattered to prevent fixation, especially for a unique form like his own.

The hardest part was the initial form revelation.

Andeluosuo aimed to reset Tangmu's mindset, not obsess over study—this breakthrough was a bonus.

[Teacher "Andeluosuo" approval rating reached 50%. Reward drawing initiated... Complete.]

[Obtained Talent: "Absolute Justice."]

[Embodiment: Teacher may cast spells through host's body for teaching. Limit: 5 minutes. Each 1% approval increase adds 10 seconds. Cooldown: 24 hours. Host can end state anytime.]

As rewards activated, Tangmu's Patronus grew, reaching over two meters.

Andeluosuo, unaware Tangmu gained his abilities, marveled at his potential, realizing he'd underestimated him.

Tangmu savored the humanoid Patronus before stopping the magic flow.

Though the Transcendent State ended, inspiration lingered. He seized it.

He asked Andeluosuo advanced questions, ones elite Aurors couldn't answer. Most Aurors used spells, not understood them.

For Andeluosuo, it was trivial.

In his era, magical theory was immature. Reaching high levels required self-derived understanding.

Despite his berserker demeanor, Andeluosuo was an academic heavyweight.

An hour later, they finished.

Andeluosuo taught two ancient spells—simple, not invented:

One detected poison in food.

The other triggered a protective shield against ambushes.

Tangmu memorized them and left the Learning Space.

His roommates slept. Tangmu couldn't.

The Transcendent State's power lingered. Ten minutes equaled ten days to half a month of training.

Staring at his 300+ learning points, Tangmu sighed. "When will I be rich…"

[^1]: In the Wizarding World, the Patronus Charm summons a magical guardian reflecting positive emotions, often used against dark creatures. Slymerin House, founded by Salai, values ambition and cunning, often tied to pure-blood lineage.
