It was Kristen again.
"You again?" Alice exclaimed, narrowing her eyes at Kristen. "Wasn't coming to my home enough?"
"I was invited there," Kristen retorted, folding her arms and pressing her lips together. "Unlike you, who broke into mine."
"Wow. So, in my final year, I have to share my dorm with you," Alice said, rolling her eyes.
"I think it's mutual. Trust me, I'm not interested in living with you either," Kristen replied.
Alice ignored her and began unpacking her bag, arranging her books and clothes in the closet and on the shelves. The dorm was designed for two people, featuring two large tables opposite each other, with glass shelves above them, a window, and a balcony. Near the tables, there were two separate beds and a shared closet for both of them.
After organising her things, Alice went to check the class schedule. Since it was the first day back, there were both new and returning students. The class schedules were typically pinned on the bulletin board in the corridors, and students were not allowed to use phones in the academy.
At the academy, some classes were mandatory, such as Magical Creature Studies, Arcane Fundamentals, Potion Alchemy, Warcraft, and Shielding Magic. In addition to the mandatory classes, students had to choose a branch from each of the Human World Studies, Non-Magical Combat Training, and Advanced Courses of Magic.
Alice checked her schedule. Along with the mandatory classes, she had chosen Technology from Mundane Arts and Sciences for Human World Studies, Bladework Discipline for Non-Magical Combat Training, and Mythical Mathematics for Advanced Courses of Magic.
After noting down her schedule, Alice returned to her dorm. Before entering, she leaned against the wall outside and took a deep breath, realising she would have to learn how to coexist with Kristen Austen now.
Walking inside, she settled into her chair and started on her Mythical Mathematics. She read through her lessons, and since Kristen was nowhere to be seen, Alice figured she was in the shower after hearing the water running.
Soon, the sound of the faucet stopped, and Kristen emerged from the bathroom, wrapped only in a towel. When she walked into the room and saw Alice at the table, she screamed. Alice turned to see what was happening, and upon realising Kristen was nearly naked, she quickly closed her eyes and turned her back. "Oh God, don't you remember you're living with me now? This is not your palace, princess," Alice said through gritted teeth.
Kristen hurriedly gathered her clothes and scurried back to the bathroom. Moments later, she reappeared fully dressed, her wet hair cascading over her shoulders. She stood next to Alice's table and cleared her throat. Noticing the remnants of redness on Kristen's neck, Alice raised an eyebrow.
"I thought you would be out for a long time. Who comes in like that without any noise?" Kristen remarked, rubbing the back of her neck.
"Well, if I remember correctly, this is my room, too," Alice replied.
"Yeah, I'll remember that next time," Kristen said, before returning to her side of the room.
