Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Emptying the Armory

Heavy machine guns, sniper rifles, the famous AK47s, assault rifles, submachine guns, various models of handguns, along with corresponding ammunition, non-lethal Light-emitting diode restrainers that render targets unconscious, tear gas, smoke grenades, bulletproof vests—Jiang Yan purchased large quantities of them all.

The seller joked that this Asian girl had single-handedly emptied their entire armory. Jiang Yan laughingly replied that they had also completely drained all six of her wallets.

And it was true. Between the weapons and various commissions, Jiang Yan's fifteen small financial goals were wiped out in one go.

Spending money like water—this was the first time Jiang Yan truly felt the sting of such extravagance.

Additionally, as per her request, the seller also provided encrypted full sets of VR virtual practice scenarios for all the weapons.

These scenarios utilized the world's most advanced 3D technology, supporting Holographic projection mode.

When at home, Jiang Yan could immerse herself in these virtual experiences within her dimension—practicing shooting, changing magazines, and engaging in preset combat scenarios for practical drills.

She bought these weapons primarily as a precaution for unforeseen circumstances.

After all, during the mid-to-late stages of the Apocalypse, social order would collapse, supplies would become extremely scarce, and there might even be mutated flora and fauna to contend with.

In such times, having firearms at hand would be far more advantageous than relying solely on blades, swords, or clubs.

Otherwise, even handling the recoil of a handgun or changing its magazine would pose challenges for her, let alone operating a heavy machine gun.

In reality, using these firearms wasn't as effortless as portrayed in movies.

Beyond firearms, she also stocked up on an assortment of melee weapons: fire axes, tactical hatchets, knives, swords, crossbows, crowbars, hidden blades, and more.

She purchased chainsaws, electric drills, multi-functional toolkits, hard hats, cut-resistant gloves, pepper spray, stun batons, combat uniforms, self-defense gloves, tactical scarves, tactical goggles, and tactical flashlights in bulk.

Outdoor survival watches, signal flares, laser pointers, binoculars, avalanche airbag backpacks, waterproof and cold-resistant clothing, diving suits, fishing gear, fishing nets, oxygen tanks, compasses, rangefinders, multi-functional fire starters, flint stones—she left nothing out.

After acquiring the weapons, Jiang Yan also bought two micro helicopters, an off-road RV, two regular off-road vehicles with autonomous driving capabilities, a small yacht, off-road motorcycles, snow and beach ATVs, amphibious boats, speedboats, kayaks, assault boats, jet skis, escape parachutes, and more—all of which she stored in her dimension.

Among these, the most expensive was the off-road RV dubbed the Doomsday Fortress, costing her nearly two million dollars per vehicle.

But the vehicle truly lived up to its name—exceptionally rugged and imposing, with interior facilities so comprehensive it could serve as a mobile villa.

After all these purchases, another 0.5 of her financial goals vanished.

Fortunately, her overall budget remained manageable.

After leaving the United States, Jiang Yan headed straight for Australia.

Australia's livestock industry is highly developed, renowned for its beef, lamb, and various dairy products.

Jiang Yan took this opportunity to replenish her stocks of beef, lamb, and dairy products that she hadn't acquired enough of domestically.

She also bought numerous canned goods—meat, vegetables, and fruit varieties included.

The Netherlands was the fourth stop on her global shopping spree, a country that wasn't originally part of her stockpiling plan.

In her impression, this place was all about windmills and tulips, more suited for travel and vacations.

However, after discovering that the Netherlands was home to the world's most advanced solar yachts, she made a special trip here.

This yacht was a newly developed product by a renowned company, having just completed its trial phase. Equipped with an automatic hydraulic self-lifting system, it could remain stable while docked and elevate up to 3 meters, protecting the structure from storms, floods, and even winds of up to 251 km/h.

The roof was fitted with 30kW solar panels, storing energy in a 1000kWh lithium-ion battery.

Its design was futuristic and sci-fi-inspired, and the four cabins featured ecological designs. When not sailing, the entire structure resembled a cozy and comfortable living platform.

This meant that if earthquakes or glacial melting led to survival scenarios at sea in the future, she would have another home besides her dimension and off-road RV—one that was more spacious, comfortable, and welcoming.

A home that could be on land or at sea.

Of course, the price tag for this new "home" was equally striking. Before she even stored it in her dimension, over two million dollars vanished in an instant.

The Netherlands was also the world's leading producer of the most advanced lithography machines, but Jiang Yan casually checked the price and was instantly rendered speechless.

Without further delay, she headed straight to France, a country renowned for its wine and dotted with prestigious vineyards.

She skipped Château Lafite and instead visited the equally famous Château Cheval Blanc.

She purchased batches of wine in various sweetness levels, along with some collector's edition vintage red wines, adding them to her arsenal.

Of this batch, a small portion was for personal use, while the majority was for collection purposes.

After all, once the Apocalypse arrived, those special vintages would become irreplaceable.

Like the aged Moutai she had bought earlier, they could be considered Liquid Gold.

France was also home to the world's best skincare products, which was actually Jiang Yan's primary reason for coming here.

Serums, lotions, day creams, night creams, masks, sunscreen, self-tanning lotion, whitening products, moisturizers, lifting and firming treatments—she went all out, buying every type and function available.

Lip balms, hand creams, body lotions, beauty devices, facial steamers, blackhead removers, cleansing brushes, and massagers were all swept into her collection.

She was well aware that in the Apocalypse, standing out—whether in clothing or skin condition—could be dangerous, especially in the early stages when her abilities were still weak and she needed to lay low and develop discreetly.

Still, these items were too tempting for any woman, so she had to stock up first.

As for whether or how much she would use them, that could be decided later.

She even specifically bought self-tanning lotion, partly to preemptively conceal her fair complexion.

After completing her shopping spree, Jiang Yan reviewed her stockpiling checklist and realized she had overlooked olive oil in her daily essentials.

France ranked in the top ten for olive oil production, but its output was low, and prices were steep.

Spain, however, was the world's top producer of olive oil—and conveniently adjacent to France—so Jiang Yan decided to make a quick trip there.

The country was also famous for its ham, so she bought 300 premium black pork hind legs in one go.

Jiang Yan's final stop on her global shopping spree was the land of the ultra-wealthy.

That country where a piece of cloth on the head means you're the richest in the world.

Here, oil production ranked first globally, and natural gas came in eighth.

These energy sources were absolutely essential for surviving the Apocalypse in the future. After all, she had already stockpiled enough food to last several lifetimes.

But the "rations" for all those yachts, planes, and cars she had bought were still far from sufficient.

So, for various grades of gasoline and natural gas, Jiang Yan directly spent five small fortunes.
