Earth-6161 [May 2012]
Manhattan, New York [Stark Tower Periphery]
–Tony Stark–
His sigh of relief was hopefully not heard by anyone as Samantha simply flew away from the confrontation and straight in the direction of the giant ass lizard thing floating towards them without anyone supporting her.
"Come on, buddy. Let's get you down," He said as Thor leaned on his suit. They slowly descended towards the lobby in the Stark Tower, as his suit's repulsors began giving out. The journey here was not good for the already battered suit as he barely reached the lobby before his repulsors melted from the inside out.
Thor stood on his own two feet, apparently already recovering from whatever he had done to gain that white cloak of energy around him as he struggled to get out of the suit as most of the ejection mechanisms had either been burned out, slammed shut or outright missing as a result of reaching Mach 3 after overclocking everything in his suit, even overriding some of the life essential mechanisms in the suit and sending all the power in the Arc Reactor to the repulsors.
"Uh, Thor, a hand?" Eventually, he had to swallow his pride and ask for help as Thor simply removed the highlighted joints and after a second or two of wholesale demolition of the most advanced piece of weaponry that the US had, he was out of the suit, with multiple cuts, bruises on his body but that was not the point of focus for now.
"Uh, Jarvis?"
"Mark VII will be ready for deployment in 3 minutes, sir."
"We are on a schedule, skip the spinning rims."
"As you wish, sir."
And yet, Jarvis' reply was the last thing on his mind as he was looking at the clash about to unfold in front of him. Thor stood by his side, his hammer down on the ground, holding his right arm as they both watched Samantha, with a sphere of water covering her, looking straight ahead at the incoming Alien Monster.
"Jarvis, any projectors still working?"
Instead of verbalising the response, a series of glitches appeared all around him, all of them only having partial images before a single clear image appeared to his right, showing a bird's eye view of the clash.
"You think she can take it?" HE asked THor conversationally, wondering how long it would take for Cap and Barton to reach Stark Tower since they were both busy coordinating rescue efforts, according to the last update he received from Jarvis.
"The Chitauri stand no chance," Thor said and despite the absolute certainty in his voice, there was no happiness in it. THe tone was sombre and he could understand why. Loki was stable for now, something that Weber did because Jarvis reported Loki being covered in a water cocoon for now.
He smiled grimly at that, even as the lizard opened its mouth, and roared at the incoming water sphere. The roar was so loud that he almost lost his footing as winds buffeted all around them.
Even through that, he watched as the comically small in comparison water sphere cut into the Lizard. The damned thing didn't even have time to scream or turn course as the water sphere somehow cut through metallic alloys stronger than most stuff on the planet.
His mouth hung open as Weber stayed in place and the Lizard cut itself on the ball of water all around her, eventually leaving two giant pieces of the lizard falling on the city, raining down blood, gore, and machines on the ground, bringing absolute silence on the battlefield for a moment.
He looked at Thor for a moment who looked similarly shocked before Jarvis' voice broke him out of his shock. Turning around, he grinned at the new suit awaiting him. It was much sleeker and not suited for large scale long warfare, having smaller ordinances and low level repulsors but it was the best Jarvis could make on such short notice.
Jogging towards the suit, he turned around at the last moment and then trust fell into the suit, as the suit's HUD came alive in front of him.
Walking towards the ledge, he turned to Thor, "Will you be fine? If you want, Jarvis can escort you to Loki. He is fine, for now. Weber kept her word, he is in a water cocoon."
Thor shook his head and flexed his left hand, "No. I still have one good hand. I will fight for the Nine Realms." Mjolnir flew into his left hand as the man swung around the absolutely bonkers Hammer around him experimentally, creating gusts of wind from the gesture alone.
Thor nodded, seemingly to himself, as he raised Mjolnir to the sky and he had to take a step back due to the lightning that struck Thor or more accurately, the hammer in his left hand.
Once the light cleared, Thor threw the Hammer forward and disappeared from the lobby. "Well, time to step up," He muttered as he flew into the air, NOT in the direction of the absolute murder machine that could somehow cut using water into stuff he could not, even using his repulsor lasers at full tilt.
"Jarvis, create a temporary perimeter. Inform everyone that Weber is taking full charge of the Portal. Meantime, make sure nobody gets left in the perimeter because we have no idea what might come through the portal or more importantly, what madness Weber might pull out of nowhere." He said even as he blasted the head of a Chitauri whose Chariot was veering into a building, his entire form seized up as he bloated and exploded the same as all the other Chitauri that managed to get out of that lizard before it was cut into two like it was salami and Weber a monomolecular blade.
He looked over and winced as he saw the destroyed buildings under the two halves of that lizard. Speaking of which, "Jarvis, designated the flying lizards as Leviathans. Keep an eye on the portal and inform me immediately once we see another one. I don't want yet another building to be destroyed."
"Affirmative, sir."

All around the world, everyone tuned up to the news as a lone middle aged woman floating in the middle of a water sphere and single handedly held back an entire invading force, through measures best left unspoken.
Social Media was blowing up, as were the phones at the White House as Director Nick Fury of SHIELD had to answer uncomfortable questions about Samantha Weber and how he hid her from the President.
All TV shows had to delay the feed in order to censor most of the explosions because they were too…graphic.
In the middle of Chitauri exploding, there were flashes of white and blue, as Thor did his fair share and killed Chitauri left, right, and centre.
The news also saw the form of Captain America helping with the evacuation. Thankfully, none of the Chitauri ever managed to get away from the imaginary perimeter that Stark imposed around Stark Tower, smoothening any and all rescue efforts as Jarvis could not detect any more living souls in that perimeter, save for the Chitauri who were losing their lives by the second.

–Luke Cage–
He looked back at the scene of the carnage unfolding in the distance as he helped the crowd get away from that area of death as the woman did whatever it was she did to kill an absolute shit ton of those aliens without even any effort on her part. He had no idea humanity had someone like her hiding between them.
Compared to her, his powers felt downright tame, and his hesitation to help people using them because people might not accept him felt so…childish right now.
Intellectually, he knew there was nothing he could do that might help the woman but…it just felt wrong to run away like this. Determined, he turned around and ran back to the scene of the fight. If he could help her even a little bit, it would all be worth it.
Besides, he had confirmed it, all their energy weapons did was bruise him, nothing more. He could help if it came down to it but more importantly, he wanted to be there.
ROAR!
His neck snapped up as he saw not one, not two but three of those giant lizard things coming out of the portal one after another. Only instead of immediately charging at the closest target, they came out of the portal and then floated out of the way, positioning themselves around the blue hole as if waiting for something.
He immediately sped up, not looking at anything on the road as he ran through buses, cars and trucks all the same, his gaze fixed on the portal. For a moment there was silence before....
SHING!
He stumbled and almost fell on the ground as spikes of water(?) came out of all three directions and skewered the three Leviathans. He winced as the absolute horrendous pained screeches of those lizards reverbed throughout the city.
That was…..new.
