I am organizing the types of medicine on the shelf. I was introduced to this job as a way to earn more money than mixing drinks at a café, so I spent nearly a year learning all the names and uses of the medicines.
"Reng reng" - my phone rang.
"Hello Kane, I'm at work right now, I'll call you back later."
A close friend of mine, who always supports me and pulls me out of the darkness when I'm at my lowest.
"Wait a minute, I have good news to tell you."
Before I could ask more, she immediately addressed my curiosity.
"I just found some news online that a football training center is looking for an assistant, and the salary is really high. Your odd jobs don't even compare to half of the salary here. Think about it."
"Wait, what does an assistant do? And I don't even know the ins and outs of the job."
"Let me send you the information to check out. I think this job is great. You can hide the pheromone, so don't worry, it will be fine."
After saying that, she hung up, and a file was transferred to my computer. The job is an assistant for the Youth Intersection football team. The tasks include organizing training fields and schedules, managing the list and jersey numbers of the players, conveying the coach's announcements to everyone... A series of tasks were listed before me, so the high salary makes sense. But reading the last line, I began to waver in my decision: "Must stay at the center during work shifts." Oh God, if I have to stay, what will happen to my two younger siblings? I have to take care of them! But if I keep doing this medicine selling job, our lives won't be stable in a city where everything is so expensive.
The thoughts in my head were tangled up like a spider's web. Should I take the job? But what about my two siblings? Should they fend for themselves? Or should I continue with my current job? But what about our living expenses? And what about my dream of fashion? Should I bury it?
"Is there any antiseptic here?"
A blonde man walked in, pulling me out of my whirlwind of thoughts.
"Hello, how can I help you?" - I had to ask again as I was still trying to gather my thoughts.
"I need antiseptic for a wound."
Fortunately, he wasn't annoyed and patiently repeated his question for me.
After finishing my shift, I headed home in a mood that couldn't be worse. I trudged home step by step. How was I going to face these two?
Standing in front of the house with my thoughts wandering, suddenly "boom." Colorful, thin strips of paper floated around in the air, spiraling in a curve before slowly falling - it was paper fireworks, right?
"Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday to you."
A familiar voice rang out. It was Eleanor; while I was still stunned by everything in front of me, Lucas ran over and presented a small, cute cake in front of me, saying:
"Did you work so much that you forgot your own birthday?"
I suddenly remembered; that's right, today is my birthday. My eyes welled up, tears began to rise, and my lips trembled. I hugged the two children tightly.
"Oh, my poor little siblings, you have suffered so much. Thank you both so much; I love you."
What should I do? These two understanding children break my heart. How can I let my siblings suffer any longer? I want to provide them with everything they need; otherwise, I will be heartbroken to death.
At 12:00, after putting Lucas and Eleanor to bed, I reflected on my decision.
"Please help me forge the documents to confirm that I am a Beta. I will work there."
