Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 (Edited)

Arriving at Training Grounds 14, one of the few currently empty locations, he found himself at a loss for a plan or what to do first. Before he could gather his thoughts, the system activated again.

[Detected the host's desire to improve their skills and capabilities.]

[Quest Generated]

[New Quest Received: Basic Training I

Requirements: 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10-kilometre run.

Rewards: 30 Points, Basic Weapon Draw.]

[Do you wish to accept this Quest?]

He was already planning to train his body, so if he could earn rewards in the process, why refuse? The quest seemed easy enough, and he accepted it.

[Detected that the Host has accepted the Quest. Disabling Chakra until Quest requirements are met.]

"Why did you disable my ability to use chakra?!"

[Chakra is used to enhance the body passively. This training routine would have meant very little if chakra were still being utilized.]

"I guess that makes sense, but you could have told me that before I accepted the quest."

The system gave no response; only the quest interface remained, showing his progress in real-time.

[Requirements: 0/100 push-ups, 0/100 sit-ups, 0/100 squats, 0/10 kilometres run.]

He spent the next few hours completing the quest. He grossly underestimated the requirements, or maybe his body was just extremely unfit. Sweat poured down his body as his legs felt numb. You would think a future shinobi could easily accomplish this even without chakra.

[Congratulations on completing the Quest: Basic Training I. You have regained your ability to use chakra.]

Masagaki felt a surge of chakra enter his body, which slightly helped ease the pain throughout his body.

[Rewards: 30 points, basic weapon draw.]

[Would you like to use the basic weapon draw now or save it for later?]

"I would like to use it now."

[Very well.]

[One basic weapon draw consumed.]

Congratulations, host! You've obtained a basic "wakizashi."

**Wakizashi (Basic):** A short, single-edged sword with a slight curve. This weapon features a traditional shinobi-style grip, wrapped in leather. It can conduct chakra and is quite resistant to breaking or chipping.

The weapon materialized out of thin air and fell into his hands. He drew the wakizashi from its stylized sheath. It felt light and appeared sharp. He swung it around a few times to familiarize himself with it and then slashed at a nearby training log to test its sharpness.

Using minimal force, he was surprised to see how deep the slash marks were.

**New skill obtained: Kenjutsu.**

**Kenjutsu:** Pertains to techniques that involve the use of swords.

While the skill didn't seem to change much at first, Masagaki noticed that the wakizashi felt a little lighter to wield, and his slashes appeared more pronounced in the log.

Next, Masagaki focused on the 30 points he had obtained. He decided to purchase some basic equipment. He bought 10 kunai for 20 points and 10 shuriken for 10 points. As he looked into the two pouches tied to his waist, he felt a shift in weight. There they were: 10 shuriken in one pouch and 10 kunai in the other.

He grabbed a pair of shuriken and angled them before throwing them into a training log. One shuriken missed its mark, but the other struck true, embedding itself slightly into the log.

**New skill obtained: Shurikenjutsu.**

**Shurikenjutsu:** Pertains to techniques that involve the use of throwables like shuriken and kunai.

After obtaining Kenjutsu, Masagaki noticed a difference in his slashes. He took another pair of shuriken and threw them at the same log. This time, both hit the target—one was lightly embedded, while the other was nearly halfway embedded. He went to collect the four shuriken and placed them back into his pouch.

Next, he focused as he channelled chakra into his eyes, awakening his Byakugan. Everything became much clearer, allowing him to spot details within a thirty-meter range. He then began practicing the few techniques of the "Gentle Fist" fighting style he knew on a training dummy. However, this was not adequate, as there were no chakra pathways visible, making it difficult to determine if he was performing the techniques correctly.

With limited training options, he focused on practicing his shurikenjutsu. When that became monotonous, he would switch to honing his kenjutsu skills. Thus, his training became a cycle alternating between kenjutsu and shurikenjutsu.

The next three days were quite similar. He would arrive at an empty training ground, receive a few quests, and train for the entire day. He didn't have any personal connections or responsibilities to attend to, except for the final days at the academy. This allowed him to dedicate all his time to training.

He knew the day of the graduation exam had arrived when he woke up that morning and saw the Hokage monument covered in graffiti. Masagaki was never quite sure how that happened. Did no one in the entire village try to stop him? He knew that Naruto was the Nine-Tails jinchuriki, but surely there had to be some limits to his antics, right?

Before heading towards the academy, he checked his current situation. He completed 5 quests in the last three days aside from the first one, so that would have been 6 quests in total. He had gained a total of 240 points. All the quests were just basic training quests and or quests revolving around his shurikenjutsu and kenjutsu skills.

With the few points he had, he bought 10X explosive tags for 40 points. There wasn't a need for them at the moment, but having a few didn't hurt. He bought 90 Shuriken for 90 points, 20 Kunai for 40 points. He also bought a small storage scroll for 50 points, as the system told him once he bought it, he would gain the knowledge to perform basic Fūinjutusu. He still had 10 points left but didn't really know what to spend them on. Before heading to the academy, he assessed his current situation. He had completed 5 quests in the last three days, in addition to the first one, bringing his total to 6 quests. As a result, he had accumulated a total of 240 points. All the quests were basic training missions focused on improving his shurikenjutsu and kenjutsu skills.

With the points he had earned, he purchased 10 explosive tags for 40 points. Although he didn't need them at the moment, having a few on hand wouldn't hurt. He also bought 90 shuriken for 90 points and 20 kunai for 40 points. Additionally, he acquired a small storage scroll for 50 points, which the system informed him would grant him the knowledge to perform basic Fūinjutsu. After these purchases, he had 20 points remaining but wasn't sure how to spend them.

Two of the quests also granted additional rewards besides points. One quest that focused on his shurikenjutsu rewarded him with 20 free shuriken. Another quest, which concentrated on his kenjutsu, gave him a duplicate of his basic wakizashi. In total, he now had 120 shuriken, 30 kunai, 10 explosive tags, two basic wakizashis, and a small storage scroll in his inventory.

With the small storage scroll, he managed to seal 100 shuriken into it, as that was the limit of the scroll. He tied the scroll around his waist.

He arrived late to class today, but Iruka-sensei was still not there. He was probably busy chasing down Naruto and making him clean the Hokage Monument. Masagaki sat down in his assigned seat near the front of the classroom and decided to wait for Naruto and Iruka to show up together. Since it might be a while before they arrived, Masagaki began to daydream. It was better than listening to Ino and Sakura argue over their 'precious' Sasuke so early in the morning.
