The school dormitories were divided into several sections. The dormitory area where Ning Chu lived was relatively close to the teaching building and the playground, making it convenient for daily classes. However, it also meant being frequently disturbed by the school's broadcast announcements.
This particular area, however, was the girls' dormitory district...
After passing a small park and an artificial lake, Ning Chu and Wen Yang finally arrived in front of Yan Xinya's dormitory building after about ten minutes of walking.
"Wen Yang!"
"Ah! Wen Yang!"
A series of squeals and screams from fangirls echoed from upstairs.
If this were on the sports field during a game or competition, such enthusiastic cheers might have been understandable. After all, sports and competition have their excitement.
But to see them losing their minds in front of the dormitory building... Did these love-struck fools have no shame?
It was Ning Chu's first time witnessing such a scene. She glanced toward the source of the noise and saw Lin Li—a girl wearing a small camisole—jumping up and down with her arm raised high, trying to grab attention.
If it was Lin Li, that seductive little fox, it made sense that she had no shame.
Ning Chu's mouth twitched slightly as she turned to look at Wen Yang. He maintained a stoic, expressionless face, keeping up his image as a charming idol.
"Enjoying yourself? What's with the poker face?"
"Not bad."
"Huh?"
Wen Yang immediately caved. His suave demeanor as the heartthrob vanished in an instant, and he awkwardly explained with a sheepish smile, "It's just... a bit embarrassing..."
Before they could chat further, Yan Xinya came storming out of the dormitory building in a whirlwind of energy.
"Ning Chu!"
"Where's Lily?"
Before Ning Chu could respond, the wolf girl had already rushed up and grabbed her arm.
"Come on!"
"What?"
Before she could process what was happening, Ning Chu felt herself being dragged forward, stumbling along toward the girls' dormitory.
"What are you doing?!"
"Changing clothes!"
"No way!"
Dumbfounded, Ning Chu tried to stop, but in that moment, she learned why people always say dogs sometimes walk their owners.
Stopping was impossible!
Even though her feet had come to a halt, her body kept sliding forward as if she were surfing, pulled along by Yan Xinya's strength.
"Wen Yang!"
She quickly turned her head, looking at the equally bewildered Wen Yang in hopes of getting his help.
But as they turned a corner into the hallway, Wen Yang disappeared from her sight. Even though she knew Yan Xinya meant no harm, a wave of unease surged uncontrollably in her chest the moment she lost sight of him.
"We're here!"
Finally, Ning Chu came to a stop. She took a deep breath and glanced around. They were in the first-floor hallway of the girls' dormitory.
"I'm going back!" Panicked, she tried to break free from Yan Xinya's grip and leave. She instinctively glanced toward the door, hoping to catch a glimpse of Wen Yang.
"Not until you put on the dress."
"No! I hate wearing dresses!"
"That won't do~" Yan Xinya hummed, playfully threatening her. "If you don't hurry and change, Wen Yang might get snatched away by some other girl~."
Ning Chu stared at her in shock.
"..."
She was right! Not only could she potentially encounter danger if separated from Wen Yang, but Wen Yang himself might get caught up with other story characters if he wandered off alone.
This was still the girls' dormitory district—every building was full of girls!
Her anxiety grew. "Then hurry up!"
"Change inside the dormitory~."
Ning Chu rushed into the dormitory, and Lily immediately approached with a blank expression, holding a small dress.
"Take it off!" Yan Xinya shut the door behind her and excitedly moved closer.
"..."
Ning Chu's panic and embarrassment were instantly overridden by an overwhelming sense of shame.
Ning Chu glanced at Lily, then at the overly excited Yan Xinya. The thought of having to undress in front of two girls made her face flush bright red.
"I-I'll change in the bathroom…"
She mumbled, avoiding their gazes, her hands already subconsciously tugging at the hem of her jacket.
"What's there to be shy about~?"
"..."
Seeing her reluctance, Yan Xinya handed her the dress and shirt. "Fine, but hurry up. Wen Yang is still waiting."
"Did Wen Yang ask you to do this…?"
"No, he just asked me to find a way to get you to wear a dress. I told him to lure you out and leave the rest to me!"
The smug tilt of her head made her look oddly proud of herself.
Ning Chu didn't even have the energy to get mad at the wolf girl. She sighed in resignation. "Fine, fine, I get it."
"Hurry up, then~."
With a look of utter defeat, Ning Chu picked up the dress and shirt, pressed her lips together, and ran into the bathroom.
People often said that the bathrooms in girls' dormitories smelled bad, but Yan Xinya's dorm was spotless. The tiled floors and walls, even the toilet area, were impeccably clean.
Of course, this had nothing to do with Yan Xinya, that tomboy.
Ning Chu glanced at the little dress.
It wasn't her first time wearing something like this. She had worn a maid outfit before while working as a server and had managed to convince herself back then. This time, it didn't feel like a big psychological hurdle.
The only issue was… the dress was short.
After putting it on, Ning Chu checked herself. At least half of her thighs were exposed.
"Isn't this a bit too revealing?"
"Well, even if it is, I'm wearing boy shorts underneath…"
Thinking that, she felt a bit more at ease.
After putting on the shirt, another problem emerged.
The dress was a low-waisted style, and the tattoo in the triangular area of her lower abdomen wasn't entirely covered. A small part of the design peeked out above the skirt.
The shirt was also cropped. While it was fine if she stood still, raising her arms would expose her stomach and that little bit of tattoo.
Normally, her mid-rise men's pants would hide the tattoo even if her waist showed.
"What if Wen Yang sees it…?"
She tugged at the skirt, but pulling it higher only revealed more of her thighs.
"You done yet? Wen Yang's about to get snatched away~!"
With a distressed look, Ning Chu pushed the door open. "What am I supposed to do?!"
She pointed to the part of the tattoo peeking out from her skirt. "What if Wen Yang notices this?"
"That tiny bit? It's fine~." Yan Xinya glanced at it and handed Ning Chu some thigh-high stockings and leg bands. "Here, put these on while I fix your hair."
"Are you sure it's okay?"
"Positive! Who's going to stare at your stomach? Just don't raise your hands, and the shirt will cover it. Besides, there's always the jacket!"
The longer Ning Chu stayed separated from Wen Yang, the more anxious she felt. Sighing in frustration, she gave in to reality. "Fine."
"You look so good in a dress, yet you don't like wearing them~."
"Hurry up."
Since being sent to this world, Ning Chu hadn't cut her bangs. They had grown long enough to easily cover her eyes, with the sides fully concealing her ears. Normally, she combed her hair into a messy side part that was barely presentable.
Now, Yan Xinya used hair clips to style and decorate her hair, making it more feminine. Looking at herself in the mirror, Ning Chu felt more and more like a high school student.
"Okay! You look gorgeous! Right?"
Lily nodded her little head in agreement.
Meanwhile, Ning Chu had finished putting on the thigh-high stockings and leg bands. She looked at herself in the mirror and couldn't shake the feeling that her appearance exuded a certain… sensuality.
Not wanting to dwell on it, she impatiently turned to ask, "Can I go now?"
"Go ahead!"
She hurriedly opened the door and dashed out.
"Hey! Don't forget your jacket!"
Ning Chu frantically ran back in, glared at Yan Xinya, and snatched the jacket from her.
"It's Lily's contribution, you know~."
"Thanks." she muttered as she rushed out again.
