Great Lake City.

"It all started with a whisper – a single case reported in all hospitals and clinics in country N.

Thousands of patients flooded the hospital with similar symptoms such as respiratory droplets, pale skin, cloudy eye and dizziness. Hospitals tried to diagnose the illness but found nothing suspicious." The news reporter explained.

The reporter continues, "The report says that the virus codenamed "Z-Virus," originated from a laboratory at downtown in N country researching deadly pathogens.

The scientist unknowingly got infected during the experiment, travelled to a crowded music festival in Great Lake City before the symptoms appeared.

The infected scientist interacted with a lot of people at the music festival, unknowingly spreading the virus.

The festival attendees returned home to their respective countries, becoming unwritten carriers." The reporter ends his report with a complicated gaze.

Within seventy two hours, the Z-Virus have spread to major cities worldwide. Government struggled to respond as the deadly virus adapted, mutating into deadlier strains.

Charlotte stared at the TV in shock where the news is being displayed. Not convinced, went to the window to take a glance and was again shocked at what she saw.

Her neighbour, Mrs. Jenkins lay motionless on the lawn, the neighbour's body turning grayish-blue, making Charlotte's heart race.

Suddenly, a faint moan escaped Mrs. Jenkins lips…

Charlotte's breath caught on her throat, as Mrs. Jenkins eyes flickered open – cloudy white orbs staring back at her.

Alex stumbled backward, hands grasping the window frame as if it could anchor her sanity.

"OH MY GOD" she whispered in shock, her voice barely audible.

The room behind her was into chaos. Her mother rushed in, face pale;

"Charlotte we have to go – NOW!"

Her father grabbed a duffel bag, stuffing supplies inside with frantic haste.

"What the f**k is going on?" Charlotte asked, transfixed by Mrs. Jenkins haunting gaze.

Her father's reply sent shivers down her spine;

"The virus… it's not just killing people, it's changing them."
