Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 3

Dojutsu Power

The Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, offered a warm yet measured smile as he addressed the youth before him.

"Fugaku, you are too modest. To awaken the Three-Tomoe Sharingan at such a young age is no small feat. As a future pillar of the Uchiha Clan, I hope you'll remember—Konoha is more than just its clans. Consider the village's greater good, not just the interests of your own."

He paused, then added, "The future belongs to your generation. I trust you'll choose wisely."

Uchiha Fugaku bowed slightly. "Yes, Hokage-sama. I will consider it seriously."

But inwardly, his thoughts diverged sharply from his polite reply.

Fugaku had no intention of heeding the Hokage's counsel—not while the rift between the Uchiha Clan and the village leadership continued to widen. The seeds of distrust planted since the Second Hokage's tenure had never stopped growing. Now, the pressure simmered quietly, like embers before the flame.

He knew all too well what lay ahead: the Nine-Tails' attack, the suspicion cast on the Uchiha, and ultimately, the beginning of the clan's downfall. Danzo Shimura and the hardline faction were only biding their time before making their move.

Fugaku could sense it—the weight of legacy, and the threat of extinction.

Hiruzen reached for a scroll on the desk and handed it to him. "This is your promotion mission."

Fugaku accepted it with both hands and unrolled the document.

> Mission: Investigate Wind Country's activity within Land of Rain.

He narrowed his eyes.

It was a clear sign of the gathering storm. Reports had indicated that both Wind Country and the Land of Earth had begun probing the Land of Rain. War was approaching. Konoha couldn't afford to wait while the other powers claimed ground.

For an Uchiha, this mission held advantages. The Sharingan's precision and genjutsu capabilities made extracting intelligence swift and discreet.

Land of Rain – Border Infiltration

Three days later, Fugaku moved soundlessly through the trees near the border. The Land of Rain—wedged between the Fire, Earth, and Wind countries—was a battlefield in waiting. Its soil was soaked with past wars, its people weary and hostile toward the great nations.

By nightfall, he slipped past the border under cover of darkness. It was suicide to move during the day—enemy scouts were everywhere, and infiltration units were seasoned veterans, not amateurs.

Fugaku advanced through narrow valleys and jagged cliffs. The terrain was unforgiving, but his three-tomoe Sharingan sliced through the darkness like torchlight. He paused at regular intervals, inspecting broken twigs, traces of chakra, or recent footprints—any clue to enemy movement.

For two nights, he found nothing. But on the third, faint chakra signatures flickered ahead.

Rain Ninja. Patrol unit. Three targets.

He vanished with a flicker—Shunshin no Jutsu—and reappeared behind a large stone outcropping, eyes gleaming red. He listened.

"…Lord Hanzō will not tolerate this," one voice muttered.

"Those bastards from the Fire and Earth countries don't care about our land or our people," a younger voice said bitterly.

They were Rain Genin—likely locals conscripted into the patrol corps. The leader was a Chunin, silent, composed.

Fugaku's eyes narrowed.

In a split second—

Shunshin. Strike.

He emerged from the dark and slit the throats of the two Genin before either could react. The Chunin spun, already reaching for a signal flare—but it was too late. His vision clouded as Fugaku's Sharingan locked with his. A single glance, and the genjutsu seized control.

The Chunin froze mid-movement, paralyzed by illusion.

As the Genin fell lifeless, a strange warmth pulsed through Fugaku's eyes.

> [Dojutsu Power Gained: Minor increase from Genin elimination.]

He blinked. A strange clarity surged into his vision. The Sharingan's strain eased, and the fine details of the world around him sharpened.

No time to waste.

With swift precision, he struck the Chunin's neck with a hand chop and carried him off into the mountains, toward a previously scouted cave.

---

Interrogation

He lit a small fire. The crackle of flames offered fleeting warmth as he bound the Rain Ninja's limbs, stuffed his mouth with cloth, and waited.

The Sharingan hummed with subdued power.

Earlier—when the Genin died—he had seen something unusual.

> Killed Genin – Dojutsu Power Gained.

Was this some ability tied to his transmigrated self? Had the world granted him a system? Killing enemies strengthened his Sharingan.

His thoughts deepened. Was the increase tied to rank, chakra, or bloodline?

The Rain Chunin stirred, pretending to sleep.

Fugaku seized his neck, lifting him off the ground.

"Don't bother pretending," he said coolly, eyes glowing. "Answer one question and I let it be painless: What do you know about Sunagakure's forces in Land of Rain?"

Choking and gasping, the Chunin stopped resisting. Fugaku loosened his grip just enough for speech.

"Most… are stationed near Wind Country's side… only a few elite units roam deep inside, targeting outsiders."

Fugaku's brow furrowed. "I see. That confirms it. The real clash is between Wind and Earth… but they're testing how far they can push."

Without hesitation, he snapped the man's neck.

> Killed Chunin – Dojutsu Power Gained: Minor Increase.

He exhaled slowly.

This world was cruel. But now, he had the means not just to survive—but to tip the scales. If killing enemies fueled his eyes, then he would wield this power as a blade. For the Uchiha. For himself.

For the future no one else would save.
