Chapter 1 - Things I Want to Clarify

Hi, everyone! Welcome to this fanfic.

I'll get straight to the point, because there's a lot I want to share with you.

First of all: this is my very first time writing anything that's not a college report, essay, or presentation. In other words, my experience with creative writing is pretty minimal.

Still, I think I've read enough in my life to at least write the basics with some dignity — and if not, we'll improve along the way!

Second: English is not my first language. So you might come across a few odd expressions or grammar mistakes here and there. I usually revise my writing a lot (just like I do with schoolwork), and I plan to do the same here.

But if anything slips past my questionableeagleeyes, feel free to point it out — I'll fix it, no problem.

Why Medusa?

This story started with a very biased question: Medusa or Lilith? And, of course, Medusa won — long live snake girls!

I've always loved her. I even spent 700 Saint Quartz in FGO just to NP5 her. Got lucky. Very lucky. And who cares if she's not the strongest pick? She's stylish, she's cute — that's enough. She's already a winner in life.

On top of personal favoritism, Medusa also felt like the perfect choice because she's one of the few servants who are both divine and monstrous. That duality fits perfectly with the concept of Asuras in TBATE.

Creatures like Leviathans, Dragons, Phoenixes, and Titans — most of them are portrayed as divine or semi-divine in various mythologies. So blending these two universes felt like a match made in heaven.

And yes — the protagonist will be an Asura.

---

Medusa as an Asura

Turning a Servant into an Asura is surprisingly easy. Both are beings far above humans, dependent on mana to survive, and they even have energy cores… it all just clicks.

Specifically, Medusa has most of her stats at Rank C, some at A, and Luck at E (but we'll ignore that).

Her race will be an original species called "Medusa." And yes, she'll be unique — a classic "person from another world ends up in a new universe" scenario.

Physically, she'll be comparable to a pantheon in terms of raw strength — maybe even above. Her A+ Strength means she'll likely be the physically strongest Asura species. Her agility and endurance will be average among the Asuran races, while her mana production will rival that of Taci — whose output was said to impress even the elders of his clan — or even that of the Dragons themselves. After all, Medusa possesses an A-rank in Mana, which is practically the highest attainable in normal cases.

Being an Asura is already the biggest cheat code someone can have in TBATE. Now let's go over how her abilities will be adapted.

---

Adapted Skills

Mystic Eyes of Petrification

This ability fits perfectly into the TBATE universe. Just like dragons can manipulate Aether, Medusa's eyes act as a natural organ capable of affecting the Vivum attribute, petrifying targets within her field of vision.

Think of them as a version of the Realmheart — but always active. The difference is that, instead of versatility, they perform a single "spell" — like Alacryan runes.

Since TBATE characters can't have the air ripped from their lungs by Wind Magic — because their mana repels external forces — the more mana a target has, the slower the effect. That's because Aether will eventually overpower it by dissolving the mana defenses over time.

Against someone with an Aether core, like post-Relictombs Arthur? Impossible. Especially after he learns how to dispel Aether spells.

Since aether manipulation is exhausting even for Asuras, this ability is great for 1v1 combat but not practical against multiple enemies — same limitation as in Fate. Perfect.

---

Divinity & Monstrous Strength

Already part of the Asura package. Check.

---

Breaker Gorgon

Will be a special pair of glasses that blocks the Mystic Eyes, since, like in the original, she can't close them naturally. The glasses will be a custom-made item for her — something like Dawn's Ballad, which adjusts to its wielder.

---

Demonic Blood Vessels

Even though its exact effect isn't clear in the wiki, it seems to act as a active genetic buff that boosts damage. Here, it'll be adapted as her Asura True Form — like Sylvie's draconic form or Taci's monstrous one.

In Medusa's case, the transformation will be more subtle: red-tinged sclera, a more aggressive aura, and boosts to strength, mana, and endurance.

---

Magic Resistance & Factor Predation

These will be adapted into Pure Mana Manipulation, since Medusa doesn't use Magecraft or elemental affinities.

– Magic Resistance: converted into pure mana barriers, similar to what Sylvie and Ellie use.

– Factor Predation: becomes a raw mana reinforcement + accelerated regeneration and natural resistance to poisons due to her physiology.

---

Riding

No one really cares about this, so… let's say she had a license in her past life. Or learned to ride because her grandparents owned a farm. Boom. Solved.

---

Chrysaor

She might have it from the beginning, like Breaker Gorgon — or maybe she'll get a weapon made of Aclorite later. Alternatively, she can just create golden monsters out of pure mana that dissolve into energy slashes when they hit. Stylish and functional.

I might not give her any of that from the start, actually. I could just make Wren's life harder… KUAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAJAJHA!

Suggestions, Questions & Brainstorms

Now that I've explained everything, I'd love your input on a few points:

---

Spawn Point

Main two options:

– Dicathen (likely Elenoir)

– Epheotus (top candidate)

Epheotus makes more sense lore-wise, and I'm definitely leaning toward it. The problem, though, has a name: KezessIndrath.

How do I stop this paranoid dragon from murdering Medusa the second he sees her using Aether while not being a dragon? Please help with this part.

---

Romance?

I like Caera and Claire, but that might just be personal bias, so I'm open to suggestions.

– Caera is best girl. Period.

– Claire is my type and deserves more love.

I'm not sure if I'll include romance — it's not a huge deal to me — but I'd love to hear what you all think. Please don't say "she should end up with Arthur," because he belongs with Tessia. Thank you.

And just to clarify: yes, I know I didn't mention any male characters as romantic options. That's intentional.

Aside from Arthur, there aren't many memorable guys in that way. Most are either too old, die too early, or just… lack the charisma. Which makes sense — the series is more male-oriented, so romantic spotlight tends to fall on the girls. That's why they're the first that come to mind.

But hey, if you want to suggest a guy, go for it! Who knows? You might surprise me.

Just don't come at me with Curtis or Nico. Seriously. If someone suggests Curtis or Nico, I will bite your foot in the middle of the night.

You've been warned.

---

And that's it! Thanks for reading this gigantic monologue all the way through.

I'm juggling work and school, so my goal is to post a new chapter every 10 days. If exams or presentations come up, there might be delays.

You're all amazing. You deserve chocolate milk. If you're lactose intolerant, have some water. Or a lactase tablet.
