Chapter 3 - Hid So Well

Rain's expression changed the moment he heard the knock. He knew whoever it was at the door didn't come with good intentions, but still, he stood up and walked towards the door.

Opening the door, he came face to face with a figure in grey robes and a golden crest on his chest.

Any disciple with this was a disciple who was sure to be chosen by one of the sect elders in the next upcoming sect five-year entry trial.

This trial was to pick outstanding talents to join the inner sect, or inner sect disciples to become a core sect disciple.

Of course, promoting an inner disciple to become a core member was no easy matter, it still happened quite a number of times.

Though extremely talented disciples would be chosen right at the recruitment to become inner disciples, the five-year entry trial was to pick others who had not been noticed or had a bit of talent.

The requirements were to be at least a Foundation Establishment Realm. If one were to cultivate this Realm in five years, they could be considered average.

And that was the minimum for one's Cultivation speed. It was not like Rain who had not been able to break through to the late stage of the Qi gathering realm even after ten years.

He was an absolute trash in Cultivation.

"What do you want, Feng?" Rain growled, staring at the leader of the group who had the golden crest on his chest.

He knew who this was. It was one of those with whom they had taken the sect test together ten years ago.

Now at the middle stage of the core spirit Realm, he was sure to be selected to be an inner core disciple this year as the five-year entry trial was in just a month.

"What did you do to my brother?" Feng snapped, glaring at Rain, his eyes emitting a dangerous glint.

"Ohh that coward is your brother?" Rain muttered, feeling rather amused.

"I didn't do anything to him," He replied after a while.

"He just got so scared and he pissed his pants," Rain chuckled, and a satisfied smile appeared on his face.

The owner of this body had been bullied by this set of people and had longed for revenge so much that it was stuck to his body that it affected Rain even after taking over this body.

With the owner's initial obsession, there was nothing he would be able to do unless he helped him solve it.

And this was not the only obsession Rain's predecessor had, there were quite a few.

"If you didn't do anything to my brother, then tell me why he fainted right after going back to his dorm and all those who saw him said it was you he confronted last after you refused to clean his dorm, like he wanted you to," Feng half-yelled, pointing at Rain while clenching his fist in anger.

"I'm not their servant or anything, so why do you expect me to clean their dorms? They deserved it!" Rain sneered, his tone unapologetic.

"How dare you!" Feng burst out into a fit of rage, his hands molded into a fist while his Qi surged outwards covering the fist.

Seeing this, Rain's expression changed. If he were to be hit by this, then there was no doubt he would be heavily injured.

Though this was the case, Feng before him was still a kid. With his years of battle and Cultivation experience, he could still handle a brat at the Core Spirit Realm.

He didn't just become a Void Shattering Realm powerhouse in the past, he had mountains of bodies buried beneath him, so dealing with Feng was a piece of cake.

"Eat this, you bastard!" Feng yelled and threw the punch at Rain, his expression extremely vicious.

"Too slow," Rain scoffed and skillfully stepped forward, at the same time he grabbed Feng's entire arm pulling him closer while making sure to avoid the fist where the Qi was.

Placing Feng's arm on his shoulder, Rain bent it slightly and a loud cracking sound came from his arm.

"Argh!"

A blood-curdling scream emerged from Feng as Rain let him go. He held his arm, shaking like a jelly while he glared murderously at Rain.

For a moment, he couldn't understand how Rain had done this. A trash like this was able to block his punch and also cripple his arm.

Could it be that Rain was not trash like they used to think? But that shouldn't be the case.

"You've been hiding so well, huh," Feng finally regained his composure, still holding his broken arm.

"You've hidden quite well,"

"Hidden what quite well?" Rain frowned, feeling rather confused.

What he had done just now was just a basic move to counter a punch thrown by a cultivator.

Besides, cultivators wouldn't randomly throw out a punch like this. He didn't understand why Feng was so foolish to do something like that and after he countered it, he claimed he had been hiding something.

Every kid in the immortal Realm knew of this move. It was mostly used to counter fist techniques, yet Feng seemed to be surprised by it.

"I won't speak nonsense to you anymore," Feng scoffed.

Even if he wanted to continue fighting, his arm was broken, besides it would be humiliating for everyone to know he had been injured by someone who had been in the middle stage of the Qi gathering realm for almost ten years.

So he needed to slip away as soon as he could, or else he'd be the laughingstock of the sect.

Though he didn't have much of a reputation as an outer sect disciple. But as an outer sect disciple, he was still one of the most respected, though he was not the strongest, he was still stronger than a lot of people.

"Rain, we'll meet in a month, then I won't have mercy on you," Feng gritted his teeth and ran away before Rain could reply.
