Chapter 16: Rejections and Returns
'Thinking'
"Talking"
"Talking"
- Sakai Compound-
-Sora Sakai -
After getting a bite to eat and having the chance to take a long, hot shower in my bedroom with Juuichi's -unhelpful but entirely welcome- assistance, I decide to step into my Workshop and practice my Professions for the rest of the evening.
The Workshop is actually a nice little building that was added to the backyard right beside the garden. It's a decent size with large windows looking out onto the garden, and a set of massive wooden barn-style doors that make it feel open and airy instead of some dark, stuffy place that I worried it would originally be.
In the center of the room, built into the stone floors, is a carving of a magic circle that replicates the one I originally used to enchant items. By having it built into the floor, the process goes much faster and the power put into the Artifacts is easier to build up.
Besides the circle, there's a large table opposite the door set underneath a window with multiple items scattered across its surface.
Two of those items in particular catch my eye. '[Observe].'
[Exorcist Gun] (Common) - (Item)
"An exorcist's gun that fires light bullets."
Increased damage to Devils and Undead.
…
[Light Sword] (Common) - (Item)
"An exorcist's blade that is made of condensed Light."
Increased damage to Devils and Undead.
These two are some of the random items I've picked up in Dungeons through the reward chests, and they're frankly useless to me with all of my other skills and items being able to do the same things as them but on a higher level.
However, I've recently discovered a new usefulness for them that gives me ideas for the future.
And that's being able to deconstruct them into Catalysts, which I can use to create new Artifacts.
Picking up the handle of the -not Lightsaber- Light Sword, I move over to the center of the room and place it in the middle of the magic circle. Taking a few steps back until I'm standing just outside it, I raise my hand, "[Artificer: Deconstruct]."

A golden light fills the workshop at my call, the light reaching a brightness that noticeably shines out through the windows as a surge of energy rushes to fill the circle. The Light Sword itself begins breaking down with the more energy that fills the space, turning it into small motes of light that gather together to form a small glass orb with a tiny speck of light in the center.
Oooooh, shiny!
Once the light of the magic circle dies down, I step into the circle and reach down to pick up the small glass orb. Bringing it up to the light coming from the windows, I use [Observe] on it.
[Orb of Artificial Light] (Common) - (Catalyst)
"A speck of raw, artificial Light."
A catalyst containing a minor source of Light.
It's about what I figured to be honest. There's no way I'd get something like another Shard of Light that can be used to create Artifacts as strong as Gae Buidhe, from a standard Light Sword. 'Still, this could come in handy later on.'
Shrugging, I put the orb in my Inventory before grabbing the Exorcist Gun off the table and placing it within the magic circle. Repeating the same process again, it deconstructs into another orb that I throw in the Inventory.
Leveled Up - Profession:
[Profession: Artificer] - Lvl. 76 (Expert)
Not the most riveting of stuff to do, but it helps clean up the clutter in my Inventory, and gives me something to mess around with when I get bored. 'Well that's enough of that. Time to do the fun stuff!'
Yaaay!
Pulling out the [Shard of Demonic Power], I pause as I stare at it with a curious look.
The 'Shard' is actually more like a large, handful-sized orb of pulsing crimson light that gives off subtle vibrations while radiating an immense amount of power. To put it into perspective, I could probably jam a hundred of the tiny Light orbs together and they'd still not equal the power coming from the shard.
If you accidentally drop it, do you think it will blow up?
'…I wasn't thinking about it before, but now I definitely am!' Suddenly, the grip I have on the shard becomes noticeably firmer as I try not to think about how much damage this thing can cause. Because it could very easily replicate a bomb with how much power it's giving off.
Being ever-so-careful, I gently place the orb in the center of the magic circle before taking a few hesitant steps back. When nothing explodes, I breathe a sigh of relief as I wipe the bit of sweat that's gathering on my forehead. 'Thanks for that wonderful thought, Gaia…'
You're welcome!
…I really need to teach her what sarcasm is one of these days.
Shaking off the nerves, I pull out the [Gamer's Manual] and turn to the page about Artifacts, reading through the information it has to remind myself of how the process works before I just dive right in.
Essentially, I've got to picture exactly what it is I'm looking to create, and then I have to pass a Level Check as well as a proper Catalyst to create the Artifact. If I don't pass the Check, or the Catalyst isn't right, then the magic circle won't even activate. And if it does activate, but something goes wrong…Boom!
'In other words: Don't fuck it up, and you won't die.' No pressure or anything, right? Heh.
"[Artificer: Construct]!" There's really no time like the present, and putting it off will just make me more nervous when I finally do get around to it.

Feeling a significant flow of energy fill the magic circle, I make sure to keep the picture clear in my mind of what I want as I watch the Shard glow brighter. I originally planned on making Gae Bolg, but the level requirements are beyond what I have right now, so instead I went with a slighter weaker spear.
Watching the Shard begin to change shape, I continue holding the mental image in my head as it stretches from a round orb into a long, thin spear.
It makes sense with me already having Gae Buidhe to create the other one that goes with it.
The second Noble Phantasm of Diarmuid Ua Duibhne, also known as the Crimson Rose of Exorcism.
When the light finally dies down, I pick up the scarlet spear lying on the ground. Running my eyes across its surface, I grin as I read what [Observe] tells me.
[Gae Dearg] (Legendary) - (Artifact)
"Crimson Rose of Exorcism"
A crimson demonic spear, forged with the Demonic Power of a Devil.
Able to pierce through any type of magical energy or protection.
It's kind of like having the Boosted Gear's Penetrate ability permanently added to a weapon, and considering how useful that ability was for Issei in the anime, I figure it's best to have this on hand now in case I ever need it.
Before I can start testing out its ability, Ichi quietly opens the Workshop's barn door and steps inside. "Master, we have visitors."
"Oh?" I ask, placing Gae Dearg into my Inventory for safe keeping as I stare into Ichi's pristine white half-mask, entranced by her black eyes and the way her black-painted lips move. "Who is it?"
"Sona Sitri and her Queen, Master."
Aaaaand there goes my good mood.
'Seems she's finally making her move.' It's about time too, her Peerage has been buzzing around the edges of the Barrier practically non-stop the last two days. Sighing, my shoulders slump as I frown, "Damn…"
Seeing my expression Ichi offers, "Would you like me to send her away?"
"No, no…" I wave off the offer. It won't do me any good to keep her out, and it might cause issues with Rias since she and Sona are friends. "No need to be rude when she's come all the way here. I should at least hear what she has to say."
"Very well. As you wish, Master." With a bow, Ichi backs out of the Workshop to head back to the front gate.
With a groan, I take a few moments to head into the main building and change into a spare kimono before checking myself over in the bathroom. There's no point in looking sloppy before I meet with someone, and if I want to give off a good impression I should at least make sure I look decent.
Feeling the Barrier around the compound allow two people to enter, I can immediately pick up on Sona and her Queen's demonic power as they walk down the stone path and through the bamboo forest towards the front gate. 'Show time.'
- Sakai Compound: Entrance -
-Sona Sitri -
"My King, are you sure we should be doing this?"
Sona sighs at her Queen's question, her voice set in a low whisper as they follow the white-masked woman in a black suit who allowed them to enter through the barrier. "Yes, Tsubaki, I am."
Walking at a slow pace through the bamboo forest, Sona and Tsubaki keep their guard up as they follow the woman towards Sora's home. "Rias had her chance to get him, and now it's my turn. You've seen how powerful he is; if we can get him to join our Peerage then it'll add some much-needed strength to our side."
That's clearly an understatement.
The power Sora exuded in his match against Riser is something any decent King would want to have in their Peerage. Devils believe in power above all else, and someone like Sora who walks around unclaimed is like waving a juicy steak in front of a pack of hungry wolves.
And, unfortunately, Sona is one of those wolves who needs his power.
While she never considered herself to be like other Kings; preferring to fill her Peerage with specific individuals whose abilities covered every possible outcome, the fact remains that Sona overlooked a key factor in her choosing…
For all their ability to counter any possible enemy or situation, she and her Peerage lacked the power to face the tougher opponents head-on.
Because as nice as it was to have ways of countering nearly everything, sometimes you need to rely on raw power to win the day.
'And I need that power if I want to make an impression at the Young Devil Rating Game Tournament.' Her hopes of building a school for Low-Class and Reincarnated Devils required that she make a good impression on the 72 Pillars during the Tournament. And with the Youth Devil Gathering -the event meant to kick-off the Tournament- happening in less than three months, that gives her very little time to recruit him and get everyone trained up.
"My King…" Tsubaki whispers, trying to draw Sona's attention away from her thoughts.
"I know." Sona replies just as softly, "I see them too."
The 'Them' she spoke of is actually a group of what look to be spirit animals watching them. Dozens of deer, foxes, and rabbits made of ethereal gold energy stare at them from within the bamboo forest. Their bodies fading in and out of sight like ghosts as they watch her and Tsubaki pass by with an eerie silence.
'It looks as if Sora's been practicing with his Innovate Clear, I haven't seen these ones before.' Sona observes, noticing the woman leading them outright ignoring the spirits like they're a common presence.
Thankfully, the feeling of the spirits' eyes on them lifts as they reach the front gate, only to be replaced with a far more powerful and menacing feeling.
Standing guard on either side of the tradition Japanese-style gate are the familiar massive frames of the Oni and Komainu that Sora used against Riser's Peerage. The immensely-sized summons staring at them with a warning look as the lion-dogs give deep growls.
'They're a lot bigger in person.' Considering Sona wasn't the tallest of girls in her year, and the Oni look to be almost seven feet tall, it made their size all the more daunting. 'And I thought Sairaorg was tall.'
"This way please," The woman they've been following for the last few minutes finally speaks up, motioning into the compound as the gate opens. "Master will see you to the Conference Room once you're inside."
Without another word, the woman leaves them standing at the gate as she heads inside the compound.
Hesitantly following in her footsteps, Sona and Tsubaki step through the gate. Getting their first look at the massive compound's interior. 'It's…quite beautiful.'
The courtyard in the center of the three buildings is framed by a few trees to provide shade, yet open enough for sun to shine down on anyone moving through the space. And the three buildings, styled in tradition Japanese architecture, are well-maintained judging by the fresh coats of paint on the walls.
Probably the most noticeable feature of the grounds, are the black banners hung on the walls and planted around the area, bearing the twin white arrows Sona recognizes as being on Sora's clothing in the Rating Game.
'So this is the Sakai Clan's symbol.' There had been some mention of the Sakai Clan's history in Japan, but most of it was either too obscure and rumor-based -or simply had been lost to time- for her and her Peerage to get a detailed idea of their past. 'Whatever their history may be, it's obvious Sora must hold some pride in it to have new banners made.'
And speaking of Sora, the white-haired teen is standing in the middle of the stone courtyard waiting for them. His gold eyes staring back with an almost knowing look as they approach.
"Sona, a pleasure to see you again. To what do I owe the privilege?" Sora asks, smiling at them both as he gives a polite bow.
Returning the bow as Tsubaki does the same, Sona replies. "I was hoping to speak with you regarding a proposal I have."
The smile on his face changes to a smirk as he nods, "I see…then we should probably speak somewhere a little more privately, huh?" Motioning to the building on their right -his left- he adds, "Let's talk in here."
Agreeing to his proposal, Sora takes the lead in walking over to the building, providing her and Tsubaki the chance to share a quick glance at each other. Their looks basically amounting to the same thought, 'He knows why we're here.'
It wasn't like they were trying to hide what Sona wants to propose… it just would have been better on their end to get his first reaction to her offer.
Sona knew that part of getting a proposal to go favorably for you, was to make sure you held the upper hand in the conversation at all times and kept the other person on their backfoot. By surprising Sora with the proposal, his first reaction would tell her how he truly felt about it, and give her some idea as to how she could change her pitch to make it sound more favorably to him.
To use her favorite game as an example; him not knowing about it beforehand meant that Sona would have been playing as the white pieces, allowing her to make the first move and set the pace for their conversation.
Whereas now, she'll have to play as the black pieces and wait for his first move before she can respond. 'Not the best start, but the game's only just begun.'
Stepping into what they realize is a conference room, Sora makes his way to the slightly larger seat at the head of the long wood table, motioning for them to sit. "Please…"
Taking the offer with a short nod, Sona moves to sit two chairs down from the head, with Tsubaki taking the seat next to her a little bit farther down. Finding the seats to be surprisingly comfortable, she adjusts herself momentarily before turning to look him in the eyes.
"So…what can I do for you both?"
Let the game begin…
- Occult Research Clubhouse -
Inside the dark interior of the ORC main room, Rias sits behind her desk with a scowl on her face and her arms crossed over her chest as she listens to Akeno's report.
"Sona's finally made her move on Sora." Akeno's face is set in its own frown as she repeats what her familiars saw. "She's gone with Tsubaki to speak with him in person at his clan's compound."
Sighing, Rias pinches the bridge of her nose as she replies. "Dammit. I was sure we would have won him over to my Peerage by now…" Bringing her hand down, she glances at her Queen before asking, "What are the odds of Sora agreeing to join Sona's Peerage?"
Instead of replying, Akeno ponders the question for a moment before speaking. "In my opinion? Not very likely." Seeing Rias's questioning look she elaborates, "He and Sona have had very little contact with each other outside of the celebratory party, and even then there didn't seem to be come of a connection between them."
"Honestly, I think he was being completely truthful about not wanting to be in a Peerage. And Sona is just wasting her time trying to convince him." She replies.
Thinking it over, Rias eventually nods in agreement.
It would have been nice to get him in her Peerage, but she wouldn't want to damage their relationship by trying to force him into it if he really didn't want to. She owes him too much to ever do that. 'Speaking of owing him, I never did find a way to thank him for all that he did for me.'
"Akeno…" She calls out to her Queen, "What do you think would be a good way to repay Sora?"
Blinking at the sudden change in topic, Akeno replies, "Well…that depends. How far do you want to go to repay him?"
"Not too far…" Rias trails off, blushing in embarrassment as she adds, "but far enough."
The blush on Rias's face causing Akeno to chuckle as she tries to think of something, before a smirk stretches across her lips as an idea comes to her. "Hey Rias…does your family still own that sauna on the edge of town?"
"I think so…if I'm not mistaken, Mother bought it out a few months after we moved here."
Clapping her hands together, Akeno leans in with a scheming twinkle in her eye. "Then here's what we should do…"
The more Rias listens to her plan, the redder her face gets; until by the end of it she's the same color as her hair.
But the smile on her face shows how she feels about her Queen's plan as she nods determinedly. "Let's do it!"
- Sakai Compound -
-Sora Sakai -
To tell the truth…I've barely paid any attention to Sona as she gives her pitch for why I should join her Peerage. It's a lot of the same spiel that I got from Rias about how it'll provide me wealth, power, and status within the supernatural world by becoming a member of her Peerage and gaining the support of her House.
"…and finally, I think you'll find my Peerage to be quite a welcoming group of young women. With you as the only male in it, I'm sure you'll find more than one of them willing to spend more time with you outside of missions. Even Tsubaki here has expressed a desire to get to know you better." Sona finishes, a finger pushing her glasses back into place as she stares at me.
At her side, Tsubaki flashes me a small smile that is entirely too fake.
Seeing that it's finally time for me to speak, I let out a sigh as I open my mouth to respond…before pausing as the last part of her offer registers.
"Oh? One of the others…but not you?" I ask, raising an eyebrow with a curious look. Wondering how far she's willing to let her offer extend, or if this is one of its limits.
Clearing her throat, Sona gives as stern a look as she can without coming off to strong. "As…tempting as it may be, I have other plans for my future. And currently none of them include time for dating or relationships."
"However…" She trails off, battling with herself over the next few words before relenting. "Should you join my Peerage, our lifespan as Devils will allow us to live together for thousands of years. And it's possible…that such a time may come where I will desire a relationship. If that is what you desire."
Heh, so she's even willing to dangle herself as a possible reward in return for me joining her Peerage?
Granted it's a very weak offer, with her likely already thinking of ways to get herself out of any such commitments, but it does tell me she's at least somewhat desperate.
"I didn't say it was, or wasn't, my desire. I just found it curious that you are willing to put your Peerage out there, but not yourself." I wave off the statement, inwardly chuckling at the small sigh of relief she tries to hide. "Unfortunately, I must decline your proposal."
Whatever small relief she felt is instantly wiped away by my sudden refusal.
"A-Are you sure?" She stutters out, quickly clearing her throat as she straightens up in her seat. At her side, Tsubaki's eyes widen behind her glasses. "If it's time you need to think about my offer, then-"
Raising my hand to stall her response, I wait a moment to let the silence settle before replying. "It's not about time, or about what you can offer me. It's about me not wanting to become a Devil; and there's simply no other way around that detail which will make me consider your generous offer."
-5 Affection with Sona Sitri … Affection: 1 | Obedience: 0
-5 Affection with Tsubaki Shinrai… Affection: -2 | Obedience: 0
Welp, saw that coming. And there goes the +3 Affection I got for Tsubaki with my First Impression perk.
"Bu-" Sona's mouth opens to respond, only to fall silent by the sound of the door to the conference room opening.
Turning to the new arrival, I watch on confused as Ichi steps into the room before quietly walking around the girls to lean down and whisper into my ear. "Forgive the intrusion, Master. But there are two Fallen women outside the barrier asking to speak with you…one of them has black hair, and the other blue."
…the fuck are Raynare and Kalawarner doing here?
I thought I wasn't going to see those two ever again after that whole fiasco.
Thanking Ichi for telling me, I turn back to Sona and Tsubaki who are watching us silently. "I'm sorry to cut this short, but it seems something has come up that requires my attention. Thank you for your offer Sona, but I must decline… and hope that it doesn't sour any future relations between us."
Standing up from my seat, I motion for Ichi to lead them out.
The clear dismissal in my voice causes them both to frown as they stand up from their seats. "Very well…thank you for your time, Sakai." Sona bows just enough to not be disrespectful, "Have a good day."
Her cold tone, that I haven't heard since I first met her all those weeks ago, tells me she didn't like how quick I was to brush her off.
And with that, she turns her back to me and follows Ichi out of the building with Tsubaki right on her heels. Her Queen throwing a glare over her shoulder at me moments before they step outside.
Calling me by my last name, huh? Looks like I won't be getting an invite to her birthday party. 'Oh nooo~…'
That was kinda mean…
Preparing to defend myself, I hesitate before slumping my shoulders. 'I…-sigh- you're right; that was mean. I truly don't care about her or her Peerage, but that's still no excuse to be a dick about it.'
That's okay, at least you learned from your mistake.
Chuckling at her response, I think, 'Since when did you become so wise, little lady?'
:O
I'm always wise!
'Hehehe, of course you are Gaia. Of course you are.'
Feeling Sona and Tsubaki's presence disappear as they exit the barrier, I get out of my seat with a groan before stretching my shoulders. Thankfully, Ichi was smart enough to send San over to direct the Fallen away from the stone path beforehand, otherwise there might have been a headache from the two groups meeting. 'Now to go see what Raynare and Kalawarner want.'
This better not be about Kokabiel.
I am way too weak to deal with him right now, and I'm not about to go risk my life against someone thousands of years old at the drop of a hat.
I mean come on! I needed at least ten days of constant grinding before taking Riser on, And he's like one of the weakest enemies out there.
- Student Council -
-Sona Sitri -
Teleporting back to Kuoh Academy, Sona moves silently over to her desk before sitting down in her chair with a sigh. "That didn't go as well as I thought it would…"
Truly, that was about as terrible as it could have gone.
Everything seemed to go fine as she gave her pitch, and Sora's face never once gave a hint that he would outright reject her offer. But if they were meant to be playing chess with each other, then what Sora did was basically swiping his arm across the board. 'Maybe I was playing it too much like a chess match?'
Glancing up at her Queen, who is standing there with a frown on her face, Sona apologizes, "I'm sorry that I offered you up to him like that, Tsubaki."
"Don't be, my King." Tsubaki replies, shaking her head with a soft smile. "I know how much it means to you that we prove ourselves at the Young Devil Rating Game Tournament, and his power would have given us everything we needed."
"Yes, it would have." Sona grimaces, cursing that it hadn't worked out. "Still, that doesn't excuse me using you as a bartering chip."
Seeing no point in trying to convince her otherwise, Tsubaki lets the matter settle before she eventually asks. "What will we do now?"
Frowning, Sona glances down at her desk in thought before replying. "It looks like we'll have to move forward with our plans for Genshirou Saji…"
Reaching into one of the drawers in her desk, she pulls out a file with a picture of a blond-haired boy clipped to the front. "Have Momo reach out to him. If I'm not mistaken, she's quite smitten with him and will be more enthusiastic in her approach than the others."
Nodding, Tsubaki turns for door to carry out her King's orders immediately. "As you wish…"
Watching her go, Sona turns to look out the window behind her desk with a frown. "Let's hope the reports about Saji's Sacred Gear being a Dragon-type are true." Thankfully, the Fallen weren't able to get their hands on him like they had all the others.
Hopefully he'll be able to provide the necessary power she needs to make a decent enough showing in a couple months.
"And this time I get first dibs on recruiting him." She still didn't understand Rias's way of going about recruiting her Peerage, but Sona preferred scouting out a person before coming to them and being upfront about it as possible. And she knew enough about Saji through her reports that his recruitment is all but ensured. 'Then again, I thought the same thing about Sora…'
Maybe she won't treat this next one like a chess game.
- Sakai Compound -
-Sora Sakai -
Surprisingly, Raynare and Kalawarner aren't wearing their typical outfits or even in their younger disguises this time around. Instead, they're both dressed in business suits that give them a more professional look with Raynare's having pants and Kalawarner's having a skirt.
That is to say, they would have a professional look about them if you ignore the fact that their white-collared shirts are almost entirely unbuttoned to show off their cleavage.
"Raynare, Kalawarner! It's nice to see you both again!" I greet with a welcoming smile as Ichi leads them into the compound. The two taking in the compound with an appealing eye before focusing on me. "How have you been?"
Raynare and Kalawarner glance at each other before suddenly moving forward and pulling me into a three-way hug. "Mmph!"
The suddenness of their action catches me off guard for a moment, before I finally am able to get my wits about me and return the hug with a chuckle. "Heh, it's good to see you both too."
When they finally let go, neither of them steps back and instead keep well within my personal space, practically mashing their breasts against my chest as they smile seductively.
"Sorry, we're just happy to see you again Sora." Raynare apologizes, looking entirely un-apologetic about the hug and in fact seems quite pleased with herself. "After everything that happened, Kala and I worried that we wouldn't get the chance to thank you for everything you did."
Heh you're probably wondering by now why everyone keeps trying to thank me for helping them out, right? Well, it's all thanks to a nifty little Perk that I picked up on one of my earlier Dungeon runs.
[Hero's Reward] (Perk)
"Heroes get rewarded for their hard work."
Receive an equal reward for the help you give.
It's pretty obscure in terms of how Perks work, but essentially I get a reward from the person equal in significance to the help I provide them.
For instance; if I help a woman carry her groceries from the store to her home? I get a kiss on the cheek. If I save a woman from a burning car? An open-mouthed, tongue-filled kiss and an offer for a date.
And if I help two Fallen to get out of a difficult situation, fight alongside them against their former comrades, and get them away from a crazed battle-maniac like Kokabiel who would have probably killed them? …I'm not entirely sure yet, but I think it's going to be awesome.
"What brings you both here? And what's with the suits?" I ask pointing towards their clothing, the closeness between us leading me to accidentally poking one of Kalawarner's breasts. "Whoops, sorry."
Instead of being upset, Kalawarner gives me a wink as she purrs out, "Don't be…"
"As for why we're here," Raynare adds, watching her girlfriend/lover flirt with me with a grin. "Our boss, Lord Azazel, asked us to come."
Blinking, I raise an eyebrow in confusion. "What for?"
"He was hoping we could convince you to take care of a special guest for a few days," Her grin turns sheepish as she reveals the truth, apparently not seeing much point in hiding it. "He figured you'd be more willing to say yes if we asked you instead of someone else."
'O-kay?' Not exactly what I was expecting. 'I mean, I've got the third building already set up as a guest house. But who could they possibly need me to house that they can't do themselves?'
"I mean…I'm exactly thrilled at the idea of playing babysitter for someone I don't know, and as a request from someone I've never met." I reply, getting a small frown from the girls as they glance at each other worriedly. "However, say that I was willing to do it…who would I be babysitting, and what am I getting out of it? Because I definitely won't be doing it for free."
Letting out a breath of relief that I hadn't outright rejected their ask, Raynare nods to Kalawarner before they place their hands on my chest, leaning in until their lips are close enough to my ears that I can feel their warm breath.
"Don't worry, the person in question won't cause you any problems…she's a simple girl who'll only be staying here for a week at most." Raynare starts, whispering into my ear in a way that certainly causes some stirring in my body.
Taking up where Raynare left off, Kalawarner purrs, "And we would be ever so grateful if you say yes… Raynare and I will even take care of paying you back for it…personally."
As if to make it clear what she means by personally, Kalawarner dips her hand down between our bodies to trail a finger across the crotch of my pants with a delicate touch.
'Damn are they good at seducing…' I mean, I get that they're Fallen and that's kind of their thing. But still…
Giving an over-the-top sigh, I shrug my shoulders as I relent. "How could I say no to an offer like that?" As they grin triumphantly, I decide to return the teasing with a bit of my own.
Wrapping my arms around their waists, I pull their voluptuous bodies against mine as I smirk, "But you both will definitely be paying me back for doing this…"
That only seems to please them even more as they lean into my touch, with Raynare coming up to gently bite my earlobe as Kalawarner places light kisses on my neck. "Oh don't worry, Sora. We're more than happy to." Raynare replies, smirking at me with a look of desire.
"You still haven't told me who it is that I'll be babysitting, though." I add, tilting my neck to give Kalawarner more access as she continues laying feather-light kisses.
"Just a former nun with a Sacred Gear," Raynare waves it off with little care, not noticing my body stiffen at her next words, "Her name's Asia Argento."
Well shit... Guess that explains what happened to her.
"Asia Argento, huh?" I mumble, sighing at the headache I can already feel coming on at what's likely going to be an annoying couple of days.
If there's one thing I've found about changing things from the anime, it's that the ridiculousness still finds a way to happen even with my best efforts to stop it. 'I swear, this shit better not end up with me fighting someone.'
Is it too much to ask that I get a few weeks rest to get more training in before I have to fight someone again?
Apparently noticing my discomfort, Kalawarner speaks quietly in my ear to try and soothe my fears. "Don't worry, Heaven will likely be sending someone to come get her in a week's time. And we'll be here to help if anything goes wrong."
Oh great, I'm playing middle-man for two of the three Biblical Factions. That makes this even better!
You know what, fuck it. If something happens, trying to stop it now won't change anything.
Pulling the girls even closer, I turn to Kalawarner with a grin. "You're right, why worry when I have you two with me?"

Moving my hands down to grab fistfuls of their shapely backsides and giving them a squeeze, drawing breathy moans from them that causes a definite stirring in my pants, I take turns making out with the two of them for several minutes before eventually pulling back and directing them inside the main house.
I'll worry about Asia and whatever's going to happen tomorrow. Right now, I'm definitely going to take these two up on their offer of repaying me.

Author Notes:
And that's Chapter 16!
At the rate it's going, this story will likely be another 20-30 chapters easy before it's at a point that I think Sora will be ready to move on to the next Universe.
The introduction and the Rating Game against Riser is the first Arc, and there's at least four more Arcs I want to write before the story reaches a point where I think it'll be a good spot to end on.
Hope you all are still liking it so far! Thanks for checking out my story.
