Why was Ancient One killed by Kaecilius?
Because she "saw" Doctor Strange's potential and realized he was the best successor.
Only with her death could Doctor Strange grow rapidly and take on the responsibility of becoming the Sorcerer Supreme.
She might have already known that Kaecilius would betray her, but because it was the best outcome, she did not intervene.
Otherwise, with Ancient One's power, how could Kaecilius have escaped from Kamar-Taj?
After all, when Kaecilius left, he wasn't alone; he had many followers with him.
If such a huge commotion went unnoticed by Ancient One, how could she possibly defend against the multiverse and protect Earth?
Therefore, Ancient One's fate was actually "controlled," but she accepted this "outcome."
It's somewhat absurd to think that someone as powerful as Ancient One would be controlled by mere mortals, like the Time Variance Authority and the remnants of people.
After all, the Time Variance Authority consists of ordinary people, and the remnants were killed by Lady Loki Sylvie with a knife.
And Ancient One's power doesn't need much elaboration.
To put it bluntly, it's because Ancient One wasn't strong enough.
In countless parallel universes and timelines, there are countless versions of Ancient One. Although they can interact with the multiverse, they can't touch the core of it!
On the other hand, He Who Remains, a variant of Kang the Conqueror, caused the Multiverse War long ago and ultimately emerged victorious, merging the multiversal timelines and controlling the multiverse through the Sacred Timeline.
Though they were mortal, they were among the core life forms of the multiverse.
Core life forms are the cornerstone of the multiverse. They are extremely rare and possess the power to influence the entire multiverse.
According to the Watcher, there are four core life forms: Sethnyg (T/N: Who is this? Does anyone know?), Wizard Merlin, Kang the Conqueror, and Scarlet Witch.
Looking at Kang the Conqueror and Scarlet Witch alone, one rules the multiverse, while the other breaks the rule of the multiverse.
The importance of core life forms is clear.
Although it is said that Lady Loki Sylvie killed the remnants with a knife, which caused a breach in the multiverse, the multiverse was already changing before she killed them. The loop of the Sacred Timeline had already been broken.
And the exact moment this happened coincided with Wanda's full transformation into the Scarlet Witch and her study of dark magic. The timing was perfect!
Fenris wasn't sure whether it was Lady Loki Sylvie or Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, who triggered the multiverse.
It's also possible that it was Doctor Strange, who used a spell to make people forget Spider-Man's true identity, that set the multiverse into motion.
But one thing he was certain about was that Ancient One probably didn't know as much as he did.
After all, the future Ancient One could see was most likely the same future the remnants could see.
Meanwhile, Fenris could see futures that even the remnants couldn't!
Ancient One likely became aware of her future as the Lord of the Void when she was probing other people's timelines, thus learning about the Void and her own identity.
If she could directly probe the Void, she wouldn't have been so surprised about the possibility of being trimmed and appearing there.
"Have you been to the Void?" Fenris asked, smiling.
Ancient One shook her head.
"How can you be sure that you haven't been trimmed by the Time Variance Authority?"
"The Time Variance Authority, is that what it's called now?"
Fenris was surprised: "You didn't know the name of the Time Variance Authority?"
Ancient One didn't seem to have known that before, which relaxed Fenris even more. "Do you know why I'm here? I have a Time Stone, the one from this timeline!"
Ancient One was shocked to learn that two Time Stones were present at the same time, but as the Sorcerer Supreme and an expert in time magic, she quickly regained her composure.
"You want to learn the time magic from the Book of Cagliostro?" she asked.
Fenris shrugged, noncommittal.
Ancient One seemed curious why Fenris hadn't learned from the other version of himself in the Void, especially since he had already learned the Mirror Dimension spell.
"I can lend you the Book of Cagliostro, but only in Kamar-Taj. You know, it's about the future."
If the Book of Cagliostro weren't in Kamar-Taj, Kaecilius wouldn't have been able to use its dark magic to summon Dormammu.
"Maybe next time. Right now, I'm more interested in seeing your magic," Fenris replied.
"Alright!" Ancient One smiled warmly. She lightly tapped her foot on the ground.
In an instant, the ground seemed to collapse like a row of falling dominoes, rolling toward them.
Fenris swiftly dodged, and the system prompt sounded.
Ding!
Battle detected. Reward acquired: The Crimson Bands of Cyttorak (Ancient One)
The same Crimson Bands, but the one controlling Himiko was a magical artifact, while this one was pure magic!
Ancient One floated gracefully before Fenris, her fan-like ring, the Raggadorr Ring, aiming sharply at his shoulder.
"Bang!"
Fenris's shoulder tilted back slightly as he gave a sly smile to Ancient One.
"Is that all?"
Ancient One smiled, her hands weaving the Raggadorr Ring into a series of rapid strikes.
"Bang, bang, bang! Bang, bang, bang!"
The two exchanged fierce blows, fighting fiercely in a chaotic clash.
