Synopsis
We live maths, do maths, and experience maths in our day-to-day life. Putting it into writing with a Pen and a Paper is just the so-called "Almighty Mathematics" that people fear. So, interpreting it on paper is as simple as anything, as long as you open your mind to it! This book is about understanding the concepts of Mathematics.

Chapter 1 - INTRODUCTION

Let me start by making you understand something. There's nothing, I mean absolutely nothing that you can't understand about Mathematics!

Neither am I trying to motivate you, nor am I trying to make you read and study this book just to get thousands of views. Nah... far from it, but I really want you to believe that if someone, a human like you could think and come up with formulas for problem solving, you too can do even more, let alone just to understand what was done by a person just like you.

All you need do is put in your mind, heart and focus consciously into this, and trust me, you are not gonna regret it. Your time won't be wasted!

Am gonna be as plain and as clear as possible in explaining every single Topic or Subject in Mathematics.

Note: I didn't study Mathematics as a Course in school, but trust me, I would (with your help of paying attention) try as much as possible as I can to make you understand.

Also, I would be doing a lot of writing when trying to explain certain concepts for you most times, since am not live with you, and since this is a written explanation. So, don't get bored or tired.

MATHEMATICS:

We want to see what Mathematics is all about in terms of definitions.

1. Mathematics is simply the ABSTRACT Science of Number, Quantity, and Space, either as abstract concepts ( pure mathematics ), or as applied to other disciplines such as Physics and Engineering ( applied mathematics ).

*Abstract Science in the sense that we can't touch mathematics: it is not like an object that we can get a hold on, which is why we make use of Numbers and Symbols while trying to get answers to certain concepts.

*Quantity: It is the number or amount of a material or abstract thing. That is to say it is not usually estimated by spatial measurement in a concrete (physical) manner.

2. In my own Opinion: Mathematics is the systematic use of Numbers, Alphabets, Symbols and other Special characters to abstractly deduce, describe or derive the concepts of things, and get the solutions to certain problems - architecture problems, financial problems, problems of the possibilities of events occurrence, etc.

These things could be Quantity of objects, Quality of objects, etc.

In other words, some of these things/objects are:

A. "scaler" by nature (i.e, quantities or physical quantities that can be described by a single pure number, accompanied by a unit of measurement, as in "10 cm".)

Examples, TIME of something happening, TEMPERATURE of objects/substances, MASS of something, SPEED of objects, DISTANCE of objects, ENERGY contained in an object or a substance, VOLUME of objects/substances, DENSITY of something, and WORK done by an object.

B. Others are "vector" in nature (i.e, physical quantities that possess both size/magnitude and also direction). Examples, DISPLACEMENT, VELOCITY, FORCE, MOMENTUM, ACCELERATION, WEIGHT, etc.

Don't worry or get borthered about all the above examples. You don't have to memorize them. I will give you an explanation about their concepts and how they are related and also why they are mathematics.

*Just a minute: When we say Mathematics, it cuts across almost every course and profession. Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Geography, etc, are all Mathematics, but in broader and specific/distinctive ways.

*HOW DO WE DIFFERENTIATE, WITH UNDERSTANDING, THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SCALER AND A VECTOR in terms of Quantities?

Let's take a quantity like "An angle." You see, in most contexts, it is considered or treated as a scalar quantity. However, in certain situations, particularly when dealing with rotations in 3D space, it can be considered a vector quantity or part of a vector quantity like "angular velocity."

So it is with something like "Distance". You see, the space between two points or objects is considered 'distance' (which is a scaler quantity), however, that same space between two points when covered by a moving object, it is considered a 'vector quantity ' with the name 'displacement'.

AREAS OR ASPECTS OF MATHEMATICS:

According to encyclopedia, "Mathematics encompasses numerous branches and aspects, broadly categorized into pure and applied mathematics. Pure mathematics includes areas like number theory, algebra, geometry, and analysis, while applied mathematics involves areas like statistics, calculus, and numerical analysis, which are used to solve real-world problems."
