Chapter 4 - Chapter 4:The Hunter And The Hunted

"Run," Niki repeated, grabbing Mona's hand.

They took off through the silent street, feet pounding against the pavement. Mona didn't dare look back—but she could hear it. The snarling. The whisper of something fast, inhuman, chasing them.

"What are those things?" she gasped.

"Rogues," Niki growled. "Creatures that lost control. They used to be like us, but they gave in to their thirst. They kill. They hunt anything with power—and you… you're glowing like a damn beacon."

They turned down an alley, but the growling followed. Closer now.

Suddenly—CRASH!

A black blur leaped from the rooftops and slammed into the ground in front of them.

It was tall, pale, with razor-sharp limbs and black eyes like a void.

Mona skidded to a stop, heart slamming in her chest. "We're trapped."

"No we're not," Niki muttered, stepping in front of her. "Mona, listen to me. You have power—you just haven't unlocked it yet. But you have to trust me. Close your eyes and feel it. Right here."

He placed her hand over her chest.

"Let it come."

The rogue lunged.

Niki shoved Mona behind him, ready to fight—when BOOM—

A blast of pure silver light erupted from Mona's body. The rogue screeched, covering its eyes as its skin sizzled. The light was blinding, warm, ancient.

Mona gasped, stumbling as the energy faded from her hands. "What… what was that?"

"You awakened it," Niki breathed. "You just used Purity Light. Only a true-blooded Heir could do that."

"But how?" she stammered. "I didn't even know—"

Before he could answer, a soft voice cut through the darkness.

"She's one of them," it said. "I knew it."

They turned—and there stood Sunghoon, calm and composed, dressed in black. His eyes glowed faintly silver.

"Sunghoon?" Mona breathed. "You're here?"

"I've always been here," he said, stepping forward. "Watching over you. Protecting you. But I couldn't interfere… until now."

He glanced at Niki, expression unreadable. "You weren't supposed to tell her."

"She deserves to know," Niki snapped.

Sunghoon looked at Mona. "You were never just a fan, Mona. The dreams, the connection… you were drawn to us for a reason."

Mona was trembling, overwhelmed. "Then who am I really?"

"You're the last of the Lumora," Sunghoon said. "A royal line of protectors born from moonlight and blood. Your kind vanished centuries ago—but your blood survived. And now… they want it."

A loud screech echoed again—more Rogues were closing in.

Sunghoon reached out his hand. "Come with us. We'll take you somewhere safe."

Mona looked between Niki and Sunghoon.

Her normal life was gone. The shadows had pulled her in. She wasn't just a fan anymore. She wasn't even human.

She took his hand.

"Then let's end this," she said, voice steady. "Let's fight back."

And with that, the three of them vanished into the night.
