"What the...fuck," Lein stunned, shocked because the apartment completely empty.
Lein stepped into the apartment, using his Cause ability to explore more rooms in that apartment. However, he found nothing but emptiness, and the apartment walls were cracked and worn.
Lein continued to unlock doors, exploring the apartment with his Cause ability, which possessed the power of Law Distortion. This power enabled him to distort reality, causality, and fate. However, his power had its limit and not absolute.
A few minute passed, and Lein found nothing. He left that old apartment and headed back to his apartment. As he walked toward his apartment, Lein saw a puppy struggling to survive, its body ravaged organs eaten away by insects.
The puppy's whimpers sounded like cries for help and relief pain. Lein felt pity, but he didn't act, simply letting out a sigh before turning his back and walking away to the second floor, stepped up into his apartment.
Lein entered his room, feeling dizzy from everything that had happened. Despited not feeling sleepy, he lay down on the bed and tried to fall asleep.
"Oh damn..." he sighed and decided to sleep.
A few minutes passed, but Lein struggled to fall asleep, his mind haunted by curiosity about the mysterious woman he had met earlier. He decided to investigate the old apartment further again soon.
He finally fell asleep after a long time. His eyes closing slowly, and his gaze grew dark and empty in his sleep. Like nothing had happened, and his mind felt light. He slept deeply, surrounded by the quiet of the midnight sky.
When he woke up, Lein opened his eyes and got out of the bed to open the windows curtains. The morning was bright and radiant, with a clear sky and warm sunlight shining brightly in his eyes.
Lein's phone rang, he quickly check the handphone and saw it already 7:19 AM.
"What?!" he panicked, he rushed to the bathroom.
After his shower, Lein quickly got dressed in his school uniform and rushed out the door, hurrying to school, which was just a short distance from his apartment.
Lein rushed to school and entered the classroom, he panting heavily. He glanced at the teacher, who was in the middle of a lesson, as his classmeet looked up at him.
"Sorry, sir... I-i'm late because my neightbor asked for my help to fix their electronics," Lein said, breathing heavily, as he lied.
The teacher glared at Lein and told him to sit at his desk. "Alright, take your seat and don't be late again," he said.
Lein nodded slightly. "T-thank you, sir..." Lein walked to his desk and sat down, his expression calming down.
Reo, Lein's classmate, asked with curiosity.
"Whoa, Lein, you're late? What's going on?" he said.
"Ugh, i couldn't sleep last night because i kept thinking about someone," Lein said with a yawn.
"Whoa, is it a woman?" Reo asked, his voice growing louder.
"Yeah." Lein nodded lazily.
Reo's eyes widened. "Whoa, you're crushing on someone?!" he said loudly.
"Keep quiet, both of you!" the teacher snapped.
Reo and Lein fell silent. "Sorry, sir."
Lein thought to himself, "Fuck you, Reo."
Reo smirked as he turned back to face him, "Lein, don't forget, my Cause can read and manipulate minds. Especially thoughts like that," he said with a teasing tone.
Lein pretended not to hear, continuing to take notes seriously. He tried to focus on the lesson and ignore Reo.
Reo grumbled under his breath, "Damn it," but eventually he gave in and focused on the lesson.
'Ring! Ring! Ring!'
The bell rang. Time passed, and recess arrived. Lein and Reo walked together to the cafeteria to buy some food.
"Ugh, I was so annoyed with that old teacher earlier. He acts like he's teaching us about discipline, but his thoughts are actually perverted," Reo complained.
"Yeah, but he's one of the teachers with an amazing Cause at this school," Lein said.
Reo just sighed in frustration, and when the two of them arrived at the cafeteria, they ordered some food and sat at a table, enjoying their meal.
"What's wrong? Are you stressed? I told you before not to use your Cause too often if you don't want to fell the side effects," Lein said, trying to warn Reo.
"I know, I know," Reo nodded weakly.
"By the way, do you know about the news from last night? Something about the transport truck that caught fire because of the rain and... um...So... So... Something?" Reo said, trying to remember.
"Because of Sodium," Lein replied. "The truck carrying Sodium probably got splashed with rainwater, causing a reaction that made the Sodium explode and the truck caught fire." Lein said.
"Sodium is exothermic and highly reactive with water, so it can trigger an explosion if it reacts with water," Lein explained in more detail.
"I don't really understand the chemistry, but what's the best way to put out a fire caused by sodium?" Reo asked with a yawn.
"With sodium carbonate (Na₂CO₃), it extinguishes sodium fires by releasing carbon dioxide gas (CO₂) when heated. The CO₂ covers the fire and reduces the oxygen supply, thus putting out the flames," Lein explained in more detail.
"Fuck, I don,t understand a thing you're saying," Reo said,sighing again.
Lein sighed and fell silent. After chatting in the cafeteria, the class bell rang, and they both walked to their classroom and entered.
The teacher immediately entered the classroom and announced that they would be having a new student. "Today, we'll be welcoming a transfer student. Please introduce yourself," the teacher said, gesturing for the student to come in and introduce themselves.
"What the fuck? So sudden," Reo whispered to Lein.
As the new student entered, Lein was shocked. His eyes widened, his hands shook, his breathing became heavy, and his thoughts were in disarray.
"WHAT THE FUCK?!..." Lein thought, shocked.
The new student looked exactly like the one Lein saw last night - beautiful, elegant, and graceful. But when their eyes met, Lein felt his breath caught, he started sweating cold, and his mind went blank as if he was trapped in his own thoughts.
Lein was paralyzed, his mind stuck in a never-ending loop...
Lein snapped back to reality as Reo gently shook him out of his trance. "Lein? Are you okay?" Reo called out, tapping Lein's head.
Lein struggled to catch his breath, making Reo even more worried. "Are you okay? Hey?" Reo asked, his voice laced with worry
"I,m fine," Lein said.
Lein's gaze settled on the girl, his eyes growing more intense as she prepared to introduce herself.
"Hello everyone. My name is Victoria Grace. You can call me Grace. I'm from the Victorious family, and my Cause has been blessed by heaven. My Cause power is Seraphim Eyes." Grace finished introducing herself and took her seat at the desk assigned to her by the teacher.
Lein's gaze at Grace grew sharper and more intense, but it seemed to trap him in his own thoughts, causing his stress. His face paled as he became lost in his own world.
'FUCK! FUCK!! FUCK!!!' ...
