"Don't worry, I will take care of you. I will take care of you for the rest of your life. You don't need to be afraid." Shayne looked at Fenja with sadness in his eyes, but this sight infuriated Fenja even more.
Fenja was seeing red. Her anger fueled her with enough strength to push him away and screamed to his face.
"Get out! GET OUT! LEAVE ME ALONE!"
Shayne watched how Fenja's world was crumbling and he only stood there. Did nothing and finally after he realized there was no way he could talk to her, he left the room.
"We will talk again once you are calm down. We will discuss this later, okay?" His words were as soft as ever.
Fenja didn't even want to see his face, let alone to talk to him again. Within a few days, the man that she thought would love and protect her had turned into someone who hurt her the most.
It was not what Fenja imagined when she found him. A mate should be the comfort for each other, not the source of all the pain.

Later that night, when Fenja had done crying her heart out, she decided that she couldn't stay in this pack anymore and torture herself more than this.
She didn't have much in her possession, but she had enough to get her out of this pack and provided herself for a few weeks.
With that thought, Fenja put all of her important things into a small bag and went out of the room. It was very quiet.
The mindlink didn't work because she lost her wolf. Not only that, the bond with this pack was no longer there, which made it easier for Fenja to leave everything behind.
Still, there was this huge hollow inside her where her wolf spirit should be.
She didn't know where to go, but everywhere was better than trapped in this pack, surrounded by people, who wanted to hurt her.
Fenja took a deep breath and started to walk toward the pack's territory. She knew the area that was not guarded heavily, so she could sneak out without anyone knew it.
Meanwhile, Shayne, who was clueless that his mate had gone, was currently being in another argumentation with Nadia.
"Fenja didn't have this small tattoo on her shoulder." Shayne growled at Nadia and the latter looked startled.
Shayne pointed the picture that Nadia had shown him two days ago, claiming that Fenja had been fooling around with so many men behind his back in his absence.
And in his rage and poor judgment, he wanted to get back at Fenja for doing that to him, instead of confronting her, because he didn't know how to bring this topic up.
In the heat of the moment, Shayne used Nadia to vent out his rage.
However, after what happened and when he saw the pain and disgust in Fenja's eyes, Shayne second guest it.
In the end, here he was, realizing what kind of grave mistake he had committed.
"Tell me, where did you get the picture?!" Shayne raised his voice and this made Nadia cried. "Stop crying! How dare you to fool me!?"
"Shayne! You can't raise your voice to a woman! I don't raise you to be like that!" Rachel reprimanded her son.
"Shut up! Tell me the truth!" Shayne hollered angrily.
Because of this picture, he had hurt his own mate and even done her more harm for letting his mother and Nadia abused Fenja and caused irreparable damage.
This was what the reason why he had been snarky with Fenja and refused to acknowledge his mistake. In his mind, he only got back what she had done to him.
"ANSWER ME!" Shayne hollered.
In the picture, there was a woman who looked like Fenja with another man, multiple men to make things worse.
Because Shayne just met her again for a few days, he didn't know how to talk with her and bottle up everything, he didn't confront her at all, instead he resulted to get revenge on her, which made him felt very guilty.
Now, when the truth was in the open, he couldn't see Nadia and his mother in the same light.
"So, the two of you have been planning this?" Shayne asked, he was livid. The realization dawned on him.
Rachel and Nadia had never seen him this mad.
"This is for the best, son," Rachel finally said, but she immediately shut her mouth when she saw how Shayne crushed Nadia's phone in his tight grip. Rachel startled as she saw blood oozed out from his wound. "You are bleeding!" Rachel gasped and rushed to Shayne side.
However, Shayne was too mad to be close with her. He didn't even want to see their faces. How could they scheme his mate behind his back? And the worst of all; he fell for it.
He was played in their hands. He even agreed to announce Nadia as his mate instead of Fenja, which resulted in an uproar, while his mate was unconscious and was in so much pain.
"Stay away from me!" Shayne growled loudly, which made Nadia and Rachel flinched. The two women then teared up. "I don't appreciate what you have done." He grinded his molars.
Heaven! What have I done to Fenja!?
Shayne couldn't think of anything else and immediately rushed to find her. He would grovel at her feet if he had to!
How could he let himself being tricked in such nasty way and even dove his head first into it!?
He couldn't imagine the pain he had caused Nadia for his action. He remembered the pain on her beautiful green eyes when she found out about his disloyalty.
And what made things even worse was the fact, they had killed her wolf.
He was such a moron, the stupidest one!
"Fenja!" Shayne went to their bedroom, but he couldn't find her. "Fenja!? Fenja!" He looked for her frantically.
But, she had already gone.
