Chapter 1 - Chapter 1:Illegally Smooth

Uchiha Taka, a member of the police force was watching two other fellow police force members grab a drunk and drag him to throw him into the prison.

The bar owner was fairly relieved about that, but, the people? Not so much.

Taka knew they were just stupid people whose tune will change in a second, but unfortunately for him, and perhaps for the Uchiha, Konoha was full of these people.

At 24 years old, he was a Jounin, average for an Uchiha shinobi, really.

Now, he had his own opinions, opinions that he was finally willing to fight for.

Uchiha's situation was getting worse and worse.

Sure, they had their bad apples, that doesn't mean everyone deserves to die.

So, he prepared for this day for nearly 15 years, he had been friends with Shisui for so long.

And now, with Shisui's stubborn nature, it was time to change his plans.

Taka shook his head as he watched the drink get dragged and went to a calm stream that was located in the forest where he and Shisui met commonly.

He knew what he had to do, as he put his hand down on his Katana.

"Going home now, Taka? Here, take this with you."

"Oh, that's very kind of you, thank you! And yeah, I'm thinking I should go and rest."

Taka said as he smiled to the old man of a vegetable stall all the while taking the cabbage he was offered, he was always nice to everyone, be it Uchiha or the others.

Although, they thought he was weirdly eccentric, they still liked his good attitude.

Taka couldn't care less about what people thought of him, when he came into this world, he was alone, he stayed alone and even now, with some friends here and there and a very special friend like Shisui, he still didn't feel that this was real.

But then, he'd always been fascinated with life and how everything worked in his past life, thinking of it to be unreal.

This was but an extension of those feelings, more pronounced, more awe, and more lonesome.

-----

Taka was zooming past the trees, his face emotionless, for him, he was going to do something he'd frown upon in his past life but here, in this life, feelings have no place.

As Taka was thinking so, He stopped at the stream where a dark-haired young man sat quietly by the bank.

Taka, drew a breath, feeling nothing but calm and resolved.

Shisui turned his head and smiled at Taka," Hey, Taka, how have you been?"

Taka replied as he sat down besides him," Good, great, but you. You seem to have been very busy. Although, it was all for naught, hmm?"

Shisui smiled bitterly," Well, I can only try, I can't just sit here and wait for everything to be destroyed."

Taka replied," Mmhm, but you can also always choose the path I had laid out before you back then."

"Taka, I don't want to raise my blade against my fellow clansmen, or stand against the village."

" Do you have a choice anymore?"

Shisui couldn't help but change the topic as his face scrunched slightly," Let's drop the topics, my heart can't take it," he chuckled ever so slightly as he continued," I heard you have a new hobby now?"

" Yes, well it's not exactly new, remember the faint smell you would tell me about? In my house? I had been practicing making perfumes."

Taka whipped out a small glass bottle, as he continued," This is my creation that I was trying to perfect all this time."

Taka smugly said while opening the bottle," Sandalwood.Subtle. Refined, Illegally smooth. Have a smell."

Shisui couldn't help but chuckle as he took the bottle and smelled it.

He was impressed, Taka wasn't lying, this smell is amazing, it's not just Sandalwood, there's a familiar smell in there, although he couldn't exactly tell what.

Shisui couldn't help but take more whiffs, as they kept talking for minutes which turned to an hour under the moonlight.

Shisui knew this might very well be the end of the line, even if he was successful, he wanted to savor the moments he has with his close friends just in case.

Taka knew this was the end of the road, for Shisui, so consciously or unconsciously, he was delaying the events which had to happen.

---

As their chatter slowed, Taka finally stood up, Shisui also stood up, albeit a bit slowly.

Taka looked at the moon and asked Shisui the question, that'd very well decide the events that happen henceforth.

"Shisui. You do know- that, just using your pupil technique to change the clan leaders mind won't work, right? He doesn't have a lot of authority anymore.

The Uchiha aren't as respectful to him, so even if you control him, the clan's resentment won't fade away, in fact the clan leader's situation will only get worse."

Shisui, slowly replied as he took a small whiff of the perfume bottle," Taka, this isn't about that, if I can control the clan leader, at least I can show that the leadership doesn't want this. The clan leader is the one that gets to talk with the Hokage and the other clan leaders, his stance is important and right now, his stance is leaning towards a rebellion.

In barely a mon-...

Wait… this smell—Taka, this i-, it's like the poisons from Suna but older...!"

*Cling*

In a moment, Shisui ran, but not without an injury, as Shisui looked down at his chest, he noticed blood pooling out, and then he looked back at Taka with his Katana, that just about grazed his heart.

Shisui was shocked,"T-Taka? Why?"

Taka could only shake his head and say," I'm sorry, Shisui, I truly am, your stubborn nature forced me to do this."

Shisui, slowly fell down on his knees as he seemed to realise," Poison, you coated your Katana in poison as well.."

Shisui flipped over to lie on his back, Taka came close and helped him lie down.

Shisui could never have believed that the person closest to him did this, he looked at Taka, as tears escaped his eyes.

"Taka, please, please."

His voice trembled,

"I had always steeled myself to die but I never thought it'd come in this way."

Taka just closed his eyes as tears fell down," Perhaps, I'm not that emotionless after all."

Taka opened his eyes to a windmill shaped pattern in his red eyes.

He opened his eyes to see Shisui lying down, still looking at him, now dead, with a Katana through his chest.

As he looked at Shisui's lifeless eyes, he knew what he had to do, although he didn't want to, he had to.

He had to.

He took Shisui's eyes and put them in a container as he laid Shisui's body to rest below the ground.

After that, Taka listlessly walked back to the Uchiha compound, giving everyone a fake smile before he finally reached his house.

He sat down at his table, he knew he had to kill Shisui, he had never thought of himself to be talented, so he knew he had to take Shisui's eyes and use them appropriately.

But now, he has a Mangekyou sharingan of his own.

But maybe, maybe it doesn't matter, if Shisui was alive, he may have had to fight him anyway, Taka kept justifying over and over in his head.

No matter what, tomorrow was going to be colorful.
