Chapter 6 - Chapter 5: The Whisper before the Storm

As the world's population grew, daughters were born in every region — radiant and full of grace. But in the unseen realms, the sons of God watched from above. They were drawn by the beauty of these daughters of earth, and one by one, they descended. Taking human form, they chose wives among them and mingled their divine nature with flesh.

From these unions came a powerful generation — fierce warriors, mysterious and mighty. They were the Nephilim, beings of legend, known across the lands as the ancient heroes, feared and admired.

But beneath the surface of this grand tale, something dark was growing.

The Creator looked upon the earth He had made, and what He saw pierced His heart. Humanity, once made in purity, had turned away. Every thought, every desire, was soaked in wickedness. Violence ruled the earth. Corruption tainted every soul.

The Lord's heart was heavy with sorrow. "Why have they fallen so far?" He whispered. Then He spoke, not in rage, but in deep grief: "My Spirit will not remain with mankind forever. They are but mortal, fleeting as breath. Let their days be numbered — no more than a hundred and twenty years."

But not all were lost.

Far from the chaos, in a quiet land, lived a man named Noah. He was unlike the rest. Just. Blameless. Faithful. He walked closely with God, and in him, the Lord found hope.

Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And though the earth groaned with violence, their household stood apart.

One day, as Noah tended his land, the voice of the Lord came to him.

"Noah," the voice said, solemn and steady, "the earth is soaked in evil. It is time. I will bring an end to all flesh, for corruption has poisoned everything."

Noah stood still, listening.

"But you, you have found favor in My eyes. So I will make a covenant with you. Build an ark — a massive vessel of cypress wood. Line it with pitch, within and without. Three decks. A roof nearly reaching the skies. Its length: four hundred and fifty feet. Its width: seventy-five. Its height: forty-five."

"Place a door on the side. Prepare rooms. Fill it with food. You, your wife, your sons, and their wives — you will enter it. And with you, a remnant of life."

"Two of every creature — birds, beasts, and things that crawl — will come to you. Keep them safe."

Noah's heart burned with awe and fear, but he did not question. He built, plank by plank, as the Lord commanded. Day after day, he prepared, even as the skies above remained clear.

He was the last light in a world darkened by its own hand.

And the storm... was near.
