Chapter 1 - Beginnings

"Today, today is the day I start my journey. I shall become the greatest sect leader in all over the world."

In front of a large building that defies rules of physics we meet a middle aged man mumbling to himself. Meet Yang, some days ago he was a humble merchant travelling from town to town to hawk his wares. Now he stands infront of 'Sect regulation association' to register his sect.

So what caused a humble merchant without any cultivation to dare start his sect? It all happened a month ago, when Yang was buying a plot of land to sell later as it had good prospects. The plot of land turned out to host a underground tomb which Yang fortunately or unfortunately discovered.

In hopes of finding artifacts to sell for big profit to cultivators, he ventures in. A quite hallway, some non working traps later, Yang stands infront of a coffin. A empty coffin to be exact as Yang pushes the stone lid off the coffin he is greeted with only a shining orb of light. No body, no bones,no signs that suggested who laid there just a orb of light.

Nervous and expectant Yang reaches for the orb hoping it to be a rare artifact but as his hand reaches for it the orb seems to be attracted to his hand. He jerks his hand back but the orb is still in his hand, it slowly starts sipping into his hands. His hands slowly start glowing then his whole arm and finally his whole body. While this was going on Yang is hit by a heavy sense of dizziness, like he got struck in the back of his head, like he just drank a whole barrel of alcohol.

As he opens his eyes he finds himself kissing the cold stone floor like it was his long lost love. As the drowsiness slowly fades away he remembers what place he is in and hurriedly flees.

Outside, the afternoon sun greets him but there seem to be two suns. Which is normally not the case, no wait that shouldn't even be possible. "To compare me to the sun itself. Atleast you do not lack respect for your senior." A voice from one of the presumed sun startles Yang.

"What nonsense is this, who dares play a joke on me?" Yang shouts back.

"Well you bought me back to life so I atleast owe you an explanation, no maybe not I myself don't understand whats going on." A calm voice answers him.

"Wait, you are the orb from the coffin. Why can you talk and how are you outside?" Still in his stupor Yang demands answers from the orb.

"Well I am not exactly a orb, I was dead but am somehow here. This isn't even where my tomb was supposed to be, and I have knowledge I don't remember acquiring and my other memories seem to be lost." the voice ponders.

"And I am supposed to believe that?" still not convinced by the voice Yang asks again.

The voice sighs "It looks like I am supposed to guide you. The knowledge I acquired seems to say that my soul and yours have bound together. To think a mortal body can host two souls, how amusing."

"Well boy it looks like we will be together for a while and this knowledge I don't know if its your opportunity or mine. For now lets share it between us until we can think of something else."

"What opportunity? You mean like those immortal opportunities cultivators talk about?" a gleam in his eyes shows Yangs excitement. Even a dying man would be thrilled to know that they got a immortal opportunity.

"Something like that but it doesn't seem to benefit us but others." a twinge of regret audible in his voice.

" Explain "

" This opportunity seems to be able to give tasks to others in exchange the person who completes the task gets rewards from the world itself." the orb explains slowly.

As gears turn in Yang's mind "Isn't that perfect we can sell people opportunities. Haha, think about it we can just hire someone to do the work and ask for some returns for the information." A merchant never leaves his profit behind.

"Thats a good idea but we can't just sell it to anyone. They might kill you to get the information and the most important part in all this is the karma seems to bind us with everything. If we give someone a task, they will get attached to us and the task with a karmic thread. If they don't complete the task we might be affected and depending on the task we might outright die. "

That sure didn't sound like an opportunity. But Yang had been dealt bad hands before and he was not about to stop using the orb because of some thread and death bullshit. So he came up with a plan. A plan to use the opportunity while having risk of death reduced and chances of the completing the task increase. He would have to create a sect, he could hire disciples, give them the task and not have to worry about the tasks being incomplete or information leaking.

Without explaining to the orb Yang starts to walk somewhere, the orb closely follows behind.

-Back to present-

Pearl city, the largest city in the district. Inside the 'sect regulation association' sits Yang explaining his desire to open a sect to the manager there. The manager explains he has to have 3 registered disciples and pay a hefty sum of money.

After seeing the hesitation on Yangs face the managers says that he can solve the disciples problem but that would cost him extra. Left without a choice Yang pays the amount that could easily bankrupt a normal mortal merchant.

As Yang walks out of the organisation you can see 3 little guys and a stack of paper on his hand. The collars on the neck of the kids pointing to their identities as slaves.
