Sofia's pov continues:
I don't know how long I was unconscious, but the first thing I felt was a sharp pain in my head. I tried to open my eyes, but the light was too intense, causing me to squint. As my vision cleared, I saw Mattia's worried face hovering over me.
"Sofia, are you okay?" he asked, relief evident in his voice.
I tried to speak, but my throat was dry and sore. "What happened?" I stammered.
"You fainted," he replied, helping me sit up. "Are you feeling better?"
I nodded, still trying to process what had happened. The memories came flooding back overhearing the conversation, meeting Alexandro Bianchi, and the threat to my life.
"Mattia, what's going on?" I asked, my voice shaking. "Why did they say those things?"
He glanced around nervously before responding, "We will talk about it later, Sofia. Right now, we need to get you out of here."
He helped me stand, and I swayed slightly, still feeling dizzy. He wrapped his arm around me, supporting me.
As we walked out of the office, I caught a glimpse of Alexandro Bianchi, who was watching us with an unreadable expression. I shivered, as i felt goosebumps all over my body as i wrapped my hands around me.
"Mattia, what's going on?" I whispered urgently. "Who is Alexandro Bianchi, and what does he want with me?"
His grip on me tightened. "I will explain everything, Sofia. Just trust me for now."
We walked out of the building, and the bright sunlight hit me like a slap in the face. I squinted, feeling overwhelmed.
As we reached Mattia's car, he helped me in and started the engine. "We will get you to a safe place," he said reassuringly.
But safe from what? I wondered.
The drive was a blur as my mind reeled with questions. Who was Alexandro Bianchi, really? What did he want with Mattia? And why did they think I was a threat?
As he helped me into the car, i couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched. The encounter with Alexandro Bianchi had left me unsettled.
"Where are we going?" I asked quietly.
Mattia glanced at me in the rearview mirror. "Somewhere safe," he replied, his expression unreadable.
The drive seemed to take hours, and my anxiety grew with each passing mile. I have so many questions for him, but he seemed reluctant to answer.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the city, the car pulled up to a luxurious mansion. My eyes grew wide as i absorbed the estate's grandeur and splendor.
"Where are we?" I asked with curiosity clearly written on my face and voice.
He turned off the engine and turned to face me. "This is Alexandro Bianchi's estate," he said with a low and serious voice.
My heart skipped a beat. "Why are we here?" I asked, feeling a sense of trepidation.
His expression was grim. "You are going to stay here until we figure things out," he said, his voice trailing off.
My instincts screamed at me to flee, but I was trapped. I was at the mercy of Mattia and Alexandro Bianchi.
As Mattia led me into the mansion,i felt like i was walking into a trap.
As i stepped into the mansion, i was struck by the opulence that surrounded me. The high ceilings, marble floors, and lavish artwork created an atmosphere of luxury and sophistication. I felt out of place in my simple attire, my eyes scanning the space with a mix of curiosity and apprehension.
He led me to a spacious room with a large bed, adorned with plush pillows and soft linens. "You will be staying here," he said, his voice firm but gentle.
My gaze wandered around the room, taking in the elegant furnishings and the large windows that offered a breathtaking view of the estate. I felt a sense of unease, knowing that i was a guest, but not by choice.
"Why am I here?" I asked, looking at him with a determined look in my eyes.
He hesitated, his expression unreadable as He answered softly, "You are here for your safety."
I raised an eyebrow. "My safety? Or someone else's convenience?" I asked, my voice laced with skepticism.
For an instant, i believed that i caught a glimpse of doubt as his gaze met mine. However, it was swiftly replaced by a calm mask. "You are safe here, Sofia," he said, his voice reassuring. "You will be well taken care of."
I did not believe it. I knew that i was in a dangerous situation, and i needed to be cautious. I decided to bide my time to observe, and gather information before making my next move.
As he turned to leave, i called out to him. "Mattia, wait."
He turned back to me, his eyes questioning. "Yes?"
"What's going on?" I asked, with a low voice."What is happening with Alexandro Bianchi?"
His expression turned serious, and he stepped closer to me. "You will know everything in due time, Sofia," he said, his voice low. "For now, just rest and try to relax."
I nodded, though i knew it would be impossible for me to relax in this situation. I watched as Mattia left the room, feeling a sense of uncertainty about my future.
As the door closed behind him, i began to explore my surroundings.i checked the windows and doors, ensuring that i knew my way out. I also looked for any potential hiding spots or places.
As i searched, my mind was raced with questions. What did Alexandro Bianchi want from me? Why was Mattia involved? And what lay ahead for me?
I was adamant about finding out the truth in spite of the doubts. I would cautiously observe, gather informations, and wait for the right moment to make my move.
