Chapter 1 - Awakening

---

# Chapter One

In this world, power means authority. And authority means possessing the souls of others.

Those without power? They live as slaves… or become prey.

The Kingdom of Twilight appears like paradise at first glance. Glittering palaces. Exquisite statues of gods and heroes. Fountains spraying refreshing mist into the fragrant air.

It's like a kingdom from ancient tales, elegant and noble… but every paradise has its dark side.

On the outskirts, filthy slums sprawl. Narrow alleys reek of misery. Dangerous places where the "dregs of society"—or simply the poor who cannot afford the kingdom's beautiful districts—eke out their existence.

---

In one of the border provinces—this province was located on the border of the Kingdom of Twilight, making it a dangerous place because of monsters or foreign invasion—the Silver family was eating what could barely be called "dinner."

Dry bread. Watery soup. This was life in this forgotten corner of the kingdom.

Ronnie, twenty years old, sat in silence. He glanced at his sisters, then at his mother. A heavy sense of helplessness pressed on his chest like a stone. Without thinking, he clenched his fist under the table until his knuckles whitened.

He was remembering that dreadful day four years ago. The day of the Awakening Ceremony.

In this world, when you turn sixteen, you're supposed to awaken your unique ability. You become an adventurer, a knight, a mage… whatever suits your power.

And those without an ability? They become prey. It's that simple.

Four years ago, Ronnie had been full of hope. He thought his moment had finally come. Rising high, he would fulfill his dream. He desperately wanted to become a knight.

He wanted to help the family that had adopted and raised him since childhood. He rushed to the annual Awakening Ceremony, where everyone who turned sixteen gathered. A priest from the Imperial Capital would arrive to help them unlock their abilities.

But things didn't go as Ronnie had planned.

To attend the Awakening Ceremony, you had to pay a steep fee. For a poor family like the Silvers, it was worth months of income. Yet they all worked hard. Extra hours. Side jobs. Finally, they scraped together enough money.

The result? Utter disappointment.

Not only did Ronnie fail to awaken his ability, but the tests showed he never would. Sometimes abilities manifest late—at seventeen, or in rare cases, eighteen. But that was the absolute limit.

Now, at twenty, Ronnie had no ability. No future. Just weak prey in a world where the strong devour the weak.

"What's wrong, dear?"

A soft voice cut through his dark thoughts. He looked up to see his mother, Elena, watching him with eyes full of love. Her large blue eyes seemed to say: *No matter what happens, I'm here for you.*

"He's upset because we didn't get him a birthday cake," teased Hila, his younger sister, winking playfully.

"Stop teasing your brother, Hila," their mother scolded gently.

"No, no. I'm sure he's upset because the blacksmith's daughter rejected him," added Erza, the older sister, with a sly smile.

"You too, Erza. Stop teasing your brother… both of you."

For a moment, Ronnie forgot his troubles. He looked at his mischievous sisters, then at his mother defending him. He couldn't help but smile, and the dark thoughts faded.

But looking at his family stirred another unease that made him shift uncomfortably.

Lately, he'd heard whispers about his family. It wasn't hard to guess why.

All the women in his family were breathtakingly beautiful.

His mother, Elena, despite being married and having three children, still had a body that inspired envy and desire. Full breasts like ripe fruit, swaying with every small movement as if dancing seductively. A slender waist curving into rounded hips that swayed with each step.

In this province, where men were like miserable flies, Elena was like a queen bee. Their eyes followed her everywhere, devouring every detail of her body.

Erza, the older sister with short black hair, had a lean, athletic body. Long legs like a dancer's, leading to firm hips visible under her short skirt. Her full chest, inherited from her mother, strained against her tight shirt, threatening to burst the buttons.

Erza aspired to become a royal knight but constantly complained about her large breasts. "How am I supposed to fight with these two monsters swinging in front of me?" she'd grumble, trying to bind them with tight wraps.

Hila, the younger sister, was short with an innocent face. But her body told a different story. Despite her petite frame, she had an exceptionally full chest that seemed almost too large for her small stature. Her breasts swayed enticingly with every move. Perfectly rounded hips swayed naturally with each light step.

Sweet Hila dreamed of becoming a renowned mage. She spent hours studying magic books, while young men spent hours watching her bend over her texts, savoring the sight of her breasts dangling like ripe fruit ready to be plucked.

Ronnie himself was strikingly handsome. Deep black eyes like pools of mystery. Black hair falling carelessly over his forehead. A face with perfect features, as if carved by an artist.

His looks were enough to make any girl desire him. But in a world ruled by abilities, appearance alone meant nothing. No girl would accept a man without power, no matter how handsome.

Ronnie looked at his sisters and mother, feeling helpless. He watched those swaying breasts, those undulating hips, those full lips smiling innocently at him, unaware of how provocative they were.

A heat rose in his body. A strange tension in his limbs. He decided to leave before he lost control.

"I'm going to bed."

"Goodnight, dear," his mother replied softly, leaning to kiss his forehead. Her large breasts pressed against his face for a fleeting moment, leaving him inhaling her sweet, feminine scent.

Ronnie stood quickly, trying to hide the growing bulge in his pants. He went to his small room and lay on his worn bed, thinking about his first day as a twenty-year-old.

"I hope it's a good day," he whispered, closing his eyes.

As he surrendered to sleep, he sank into a deep slumber, unaware of the dangers lurking in the night outside his crumbling home.

---

Hours later, a bright light struck his eyelids. It was as if someone had lit a lamp directly above his head.

He opened his eyes with difficulty and saw a strange window floating in the air before him.

[Age: 20 years]

[Status: Unemployed]

[You have met the requirements for Awakening]

"Damn!" he whispered.

"What… what is this?" He leaped from his bed, shocked.

[Initiating Ability Unlock]

[Congratulations! You have awakened your ability]

Notifications continued to appear before him as Ronnie stood dumbfounded, unable to believe what he was seeing.

[User has unlocked their ability, and the System will now activate]

[System will begin updating to sync with all world information]

[System will begin loading]

[Do you agree to update the System?]

[Yes] [No]

[Note: Refusal means the System will operate in its old version from the Last Era]

"What?!" Ronnie hissed, keeping his voice low to avoid waking his family.

"What's happening here?"

Panic gripped him, his heart racing. Yet, despite it all, he felt no threat. For some strange reason, the floating thing before him felt like part of him. An extension of his soul.

"Is this my ability?" he whispered to himself, curiosity slowly replacing fear.

"But what does this thing do?"

"Update? What's that?"

He read the final note, and his blood ran cold.

"The… Last Era…" he stammered, nearly fainting. "Impossible."

"This is impossible!"

In this world, the Last Era was the darkest period in history.

It was named for the endless wars that nearly ended all life. Everyone thought the world would perish afterward.

Ronnie shuddered, recalling his teachers' stories about that grim time. How many races went extinct! How many continents vanished!

The most terrifying part was the Great War in the Land of Grace. An epic battle where races and gods fought together against a mysterious invasion.

"It was a bloodbath beyond belief," his father had told him before disappearing. "Even though they won, the cost was horrific."

Today, anything from the Last Era is considered a priceless treasure.

Ronnie had heard of adventurers finding an ancient stone from the Last Era. The Emperor himself examined it and kept it as a sacred national treasure.

A simple stone treated as a priceless relic just because it was from the Last Era. So what about an entire *System* from that mythical time?

"Does this mean this System existed during the Last Era?"

A shiver ran through his entire body. What he saw before him was beyond value. He felt a mix of joy, awe, and excitement.

"But what's this update?"

He rubbed his chin, trying to think clearly.

"Hmm, according to the window, the System operates as if it's still in the Last Era, while we're now in an entirely new age."

His quick mind began connecting the dots.

"I think I understand now."

He made his decision. "Yes, I agree to the update."

[Update approved]

[Scanning all elements of this era]

[Studying all worlds, races, higher beings, and gods]

As Ronnie was engrossed in reading these notifications, he didn't notice an invisible, massive wave emanating from him. It pierced the house's walls, spreading through the alley, the city, the entire kingdom. It covered the whole world, then stretched beyond into the unknown.

[Update complete]

[Please issue a command]

In that moment, Ronnie felt a strange power coursing through every part of his body. A sensation as pleasurable as ecstasy, refreshing as a cool breeze, potent as a surge of energy.

It was like a parched, withered tree that hadn't seen water for years, suddenly drenched by rain, greedily absorbing every drop.

When the incredible feeling subsided, Ronnie didn't realize his appearance had changed. He'd become even more handsome. His eyes gained a mysterious, captivating glow. His skin became more radiant. An aura of enigma and allure surrounded him, capable of making any woman fall for him at first sight.

But he didn't notice these changes. His focus was on the mysterious System before him.

"Open," he commanded firmly.

[Welcome, User]

[User: Ronnie Silver]

[Status: Awakened]

[Ability: Revelation]

[Rank: Iron]

[Maximum Rank for this Ability: ?????]

[Ability Description: An extremely rare ability from ancient times. Those who possess this ability can detect lies, uncover secrets, and expose hidden truths. You are the third person to possess this ability across all eras.]

[Job Rank: Divine (You cannot yet use all job capabilities)]

[Job: The Revealer]

Ronnie was stunned by this flood of information, especially about his ability and job.

He reread the line "You are the third person to possess this ability across all eras" several times. He swallowed hard, feeling nervous.

"What does it mean that I'm the third across all eras?"

He thought for a moment. "Isn't this just a priest's ability? Many priests can detect truth and expose corruption… what's so special about this ability?"

[What you said is true, but that's only part of this ability. Priests follow the Path of Light, and anyone on the Path of Light can detect lies and corruption.]

[But what if someone on the Path of Light lies or errs… who will expose them?]

A chill ran through Ronnie's body at this question.

[Those who follow the Path of Light are responsible for correcting corruption, but the one who follows the Path of the Revealer is responsible for correcting the Path of Light.]

[Do you now understand the importance of your ability? This ability is as rare as the Creation ability possessed by the System's creator.]

[Those with the Revelation ability can unravel all the world's mysteries, expose all secrets, and know all answers.]

[Those with this ability are, in essence, the enemy of everyone, because they can see everyone.]

In that moment, Ronnie felt as if his world had darkened suddenly. As if he'd fallen into a bottomless abyss.

But in the depths of that darkness, an idea began to crystallize in his mind. A wicked, delicious, tempting idea.

If he could uncover all secrets… that meant he could know women's deepest desires. Their most thrilling fantasies. Their most private secrets.

He remembered the blacksmith's daughter who rejected him. He recalled all the girls who mocked him for lacking an ability.

Now, he'd have the power to uncover their buried secrets. To see their souls laid bare before their bodies.

A cunning smile spread across his lips. Maybe this day would be good after all.
