Elara stood at the edge of the rooftop, the city lights flickering below like distant stars.
Aaron joined her, his expression grim.
"They're watching us closer than ever," he said. "We can't slip up."
Elara clenched her jaw. "They crossed a line last night. Targeting Leo was unforgivable."
Aaron nodded. "We need to hit back harder."
Inside the safehouse, Dominic relayed urgent news.
"The senator from the files? His daughter was taken."
Elara's stomach twisted.
"They're not just attacking us—they're sending a message."
Determined, Elara reached out to an unexpected ally: Senator Evelyn Marks.
Their meeting was tense.
"Why help me?" Elara asked.
Evelyn's eyes flickered with something unreadable. "Because I'm tired of the Roths controlling everything. But we have to be smart."
They forged a plan to expose the senator's corrupt ties and protect Evelyn's daughter.
But trust was fragile.
