Sea Calendar 1484, New World, Dodorian Island.
A large ship floated in the sky.
The petite, black-haired, black-eyed Roa stood on the ship's rail, which was a bit too high for him, and marveled as he looked down at the island below.
Dodorian Island, an island filled with pirates, was undergoing a catastrophe.
Accompanied by thunderous roars, the entire island undulated like the sea in a storm. The ground rose high, but in the next moment, it slammed down like a tsunami, layers upon layers of ground constantly stacking together.
Towns were buried in an instant, and the powerless pirates, like ants, were crushed into mud before they could even scream.
"Gahahahaha!"
The perpetrator of it all, a man with brilliant golden long hair, floated in the sky, laughing loudly.
He merely swayed his right hand casually, and the island below danced to his will.
"Oh oh oh, amazing, Uncle Shiki! That's it, crush them!"
Roa took a deep breath. A dense black aura, invisible to ordinary people, rose from the island below and was inhaled by Roa, who then revealed an extremely intoxicated expression. "What a delicious meal!"
The man known as Golden Lion, a high-ranking executive of the Rocks Pirates, Shiki, turned his head. "Rocks didn't send you over here to cheer for me, kid!"
"Eh?"
Roa's charming smile turned sheepish. He raised a hand to scratch the back of his head. "The opponent is a monster with a bounty exceeding 800 million. I'm no match."
"And—"
"Shiki!!"
Just then, the ground exploded. The flying dust instantly parted to reveal a path, and a furious man shot into the sky like a cannonball, heading straight for the man in the air. "You've gone too far!!"
"Uncle Shiki,"
Roa looked at the man soaring into the sky and said with a grin, "The enemy's target is you too."
"Hmph!"
The Golden Lion snorted coldly, turning around while casually drawing his beloved sword from his waist. The sharp blade instantly turned pitch black, and black and red lightning crackled around it.
"Ripple Slash!"
The blade tore through the sky, instantly unleashing a massive golden slash hundreds of meters long. The sky itself seemed to be dyed gold.
"What?"
The man who had shot into the sky changed his expression drastically. The next moment, he was directly struck down by the slash, blood splattering across the sky.
The Golden Lion stood proudly in the air, slowly exhaling a smoke ring. "At this level, you should have just committed suicide earlier. Why make me come all the way here? You're the ones who've gone too far."
Roa clapped enthusiastically. "What an incredible sword strike!"
A sword strike infused with Conqueror's Haki – this was truly the Golden Lion's proper demeanor.
The lion, in his prime, looked up towards the other side of the island.
"Roa."
He raised his voice. "Some idiots are trying to escape. Go deal with them."
Then he glared at Roa again. "Don't make me say it twice."
"Yes, yes, it's my turn to shine."
Roa's voice stretched out deliberately. As he stepped forward, black fur began to grow on his body. The next moment, he leaped from the large ship suspended in the sky.
On the other side of the island was a small bay. At this moment, a pirate ship was rapidly fleeing out of the bay.
Onboard, a group of pirates, like stray dogs, looked back in terror at the island behind them, which was being kneaded back and forth like dough by an invisible force.
"That monster Golden Lion actually came himself!"
"It's all the Captain's fault! How dare he provoke the Rocks Pirates!"
"It's too late to say anything now! The Captain is finished, the Golden Pirate Crew is finished! That madman Golden Lion is going to destroy the entire island!"
"What pirate crew are you talking about now? Run!!"
Completely lacking the courage to clash with that formidable lion, all they could do now was run.
But just then.
From the sky, a dark cloud descended.
"What?"
The lead pirate fleeing, an executive of the Golden Pirate Crew known as Heavy Axe Johnny, suddenly looked up, his pupils constricting.
It wasn't a cloud.
It was a fierce tiger!
A pitch-black fierce tiger, over five meters long, slowly descending with a pair of wide, dark wings flapping!
Besides its color and wings, it also had a pair of sharp, huge horns on its head, like a buffalo's large horns!
Its body appeared somewhat gaunt and elongated, even its typically rounded head seemed thin, yet this only made the sharp teeth protruding from its mouth appear more ferocious.
Roa landed steadily on top of the ship's deck, surveying Johnny and the others. Then, a clear, somewhat childish voice sounded. "Sorry, everyone, this road is closed."
Johnny's eyes widened, somewhat incredulous. "Mythical Zoan?"
This appearance was clearly a Zoan type, but even ancient tigers wouldn't have wings and horns, right?
That left only one possibility: this was a Mythical Zoan, rumored to be even rarer than Logia types!
"Rocks said,"
Roa's wings folded behind him as he looked down at the pirates, who had long been terrified by the Golden Lion. "Everyone has to die. There's nothing I can do."
Johnny's pupils suddenly constricted.
Every Mythical Zoan ability user was a monster!
But.
"Go to hell!!"
Logia or Mythical Zoan, if you want my life, I'll take yours first!
Heavy Axe Johnny truly wielded a heavy double-bladed battle axe. He roared as he swung the axe. "Those who don't want to die, come with me!"
"Kill this guy!!"
The pirates also knew that if they didn't kill the opponent, they would be killed. If that was the case, what was there to fear?
Thus, the pirates all mustered their courage and charged towards the black tiger behind Johnny, displaying a somewhat formidable momentum for a moment.
Facing the surging pirates, Roa made no move. He merely blinked, but in that instant of closing and opening his eyelids, his black and white eyes had reversed, his pupils turning pale, and the whites of his eyes turning pitch black.
He seemed to see something ordinary people couldn't, and spoke with a smile, "False courage won't work on me."
"Waaaahhh!"
The next moment, the pirates' terrified screams echoed across the bay.
The pirates who had just mustered courage were now utterly terrified, a mysterious fear completely engulfing them.
Trembling all over, they couldn't even grip their weapons, let alone stand straight. They cried and sniveled in fear, collapsing to their knees, their weapons clattering to the deck.
Many pirates' pants became wet in that instant, and some even vomited bile in fear, actually being scared to death on the spot.
"What's going on... What is... going on!"
Heavy Axe Johnny retreated in terror, the fierce tiger before him expanding infinitely in his eyes, like a shadow covering the world, making him incapable of any thought of resistance.
But he was still standing.
"Oh?"
Roa looked at the only pirate still standing with interest. "Impressive. A stray dog like you can actually resist my ability."
Johnny's breathing almost stopped.
Is this guy's ability? Fear? He can make people fear him!
What a terrifying ability!
His body was shaking. Forget attacking, just standing required all his effort.
He didn't notice that his eyes were tinged with black, and the eyes of the other pirates on the ground were almost entirely filled with darkness at this moment.
"Looking at it this way, you seem to have some value,"
Roa thought for a moment, a smile pulling at his already ferocious face. "Then let's fight to the death. The last one remaining can live."
Can live? As long as he kills everyone else, he can survive?
Amidst intense fear, another emotion began to sprout.
Johnny subconsciously gripped the battle axe in his hand.
The killing intent in his heart grew wildly, like spring weeds.
Kill!
As long as he kills everyone, he can—
No!
Johnny's pupils dilated in shock.
It's this guy's ability again!
Not just fear, but even killing intent can be stimulated?
Swoosh!
Before Johnny could think clearly, the sound of wind breaking came from behind him.
He instinctively dodged sideways, and a blade swung down in front of him.
Behind him, the pirates were already fighting each other.
The pirates were completely frenzied. Fear and cowardice had been entirely swallowed by pure killing intent. Kill, kill, kill, damn it, kill everyone!
Everyone seemed to have gone mad, forgetting fear, ignoring pain. Even if their windpipes were severed, they would desperately bite their opponents. Even if their hearts were pierced, they would retaliate with an equally fatal blow!
"What the hell?"
Johnny roared, his hand instinctively swinging the heavy battle axe, one blow decapitating the pirate who had just attacked him.
And what the fighting pirates couldn't see was that small amounts of black substance floated off their bodies.
Invisible black mist drifted towards Roa.
Roa slowly inhaled, and the black mist was drawn into his nostrils.
Roa showed a slightly disgusted expression. "Without reason, it's truly unpalatable."
Meanwhile, the battle had reached its climax.
After continuously cutting down several companions, Johnny finally couldn't suppress the surging killing intent. His eyes gradually turned pitch black, and his rationality vanished in an instant. His battle axe danced, instantly severing the heads of two pirates in front of him, roaring like a beast,
"Kill!"
Kill all these dog-breeds!
He no longer cared about survival or revenge. Now, he had only one thing on his mind: kill! Kill them all, damn it!
Soon, the battle came to an end.
It should be said that he was indeed a crew executive; Johnny ultimately became the last survivor. After continuously chopping off the heads of sixteen companions, only he remained standing. His strength was indeed remarkable; after a chaotic battle, he sustained virtually no injuries.
However, the crucial point was that Johnny's eyes were wide, his expression blank, and both the whites and pupils of his eyes had become completely pitch black, like an abyss with no light.
He staggered towards Roa's direction, his movements stiff like a puppet.
The black tiger nodded in satisfaction. "Not bad, not bad. Among all my chang ghosts, his quality is high."
As for the others.
Roa glanced at the pirates lying haphazardly on the ground.
Never mind, I'll be merciful.
On his sharp horns, bronze-colored patterns now spread from the base.
Whoosh!
Flames!
Flames, appearing from nowhere, suddenly surged up from the deck, then spread at an eerie speed. A few seconds later, the entire ship was engulfed.
"Gahahahaha! Roa! Well done!"
Loud laughter came from above, the great lion floating in the sky. "Heavy Axe Johnny, though he's the weakest among the executives, his bounty also exceeds 100 million."
Roa, gripping the black-eyed Johnny, flapped his wings and soared into the sky, his voice full of laughter, "Because those who are lost are weak and easily swayed."
"Gahahahaha! Indeed, before your ability!"
