Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Beginning of Everything

Location: CIA Headquarters, Langley, Virginia

The cold Virginia wind swept through the trees, rattling the windows of the CIA's headquarters as Alicia Renner walked alongside Luke Silas, the head of operatives. The tension between them was palpable as if the air itself had thickened with the weight of what was to come. "Victor Dresner was a sociopath," Alicia began, her voice sharp. "He murdered innocent people for that damned pen drive, and if it had fallen into the wrong hands, the entire CIA would have been compromised. But now, he's dead—killed by Obsidian 8—and you're telling me that's not a win?" Luke Silas's expression remained stone-cold, his tone colder. " killed Dresner, yes. But that doesn't change the fact that you lost control of an asset you were supposed to manage. Dresner was a problem, but Obsidian Two was a liability—a rogue agent with no leash. I don't care how you do it, Alicia . Find Obsidian Two, and when you do, shoot him on sight. This ends with his death. The Obsidian Directive dies with him." Alicia hesitated, a flicker of something unreadable crossing her face. "And what about Obsidian Seven?" she asked, her voice quieter now, almost as if testing the waters. Luke 's brow furrowed. "Seven? There's a Obsidian Seven?"

"Jack Mayors," Alicia replied, the name hanging in the air like a spectre. "He's twice as lethal as Obsidian Two, with more confirmed kills and a flawless record. He's better than your precious Victor Dresner ever was. Jack Mayors is a ghost, Luke. You won't find him unless he wants to be found." Luke 's eyes narrowed, the weight of her words sinking in. "Fitzroy is dead," he finally said, his voice low and dangerous. "And so should his protégés be. Mayors is to be shot on sight. But bring me Obsidian Two alive. He's mine."
