Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Pure and Flawless Saintess

The universe stretches infinitely, its true extent known only to the Aeons who stand at its apex, gazing down upon all creation.

In those hidden corners, unseen and unknown, countless planets are born and extinguished each day.

On one such planet, nearing its end, a scene of apocalyptic proportions unfolds.

The sky shatters slowly, the land gradually sinks into the abyss, and cries of anguish over the injustice of fate echo across the doomed world.

"What sin have we committed to be born into this world...?"

Within a once-magnificent, now dust-covered edifice, an elderly man clad in opulent robes kneels on the ground, despairingly surveying the destruction.

"If there truly exists a God in this world," he cries out, "I beg you, have mercy on these suffering souls..."

The old man knelt, his forehead striking the floor with a resounding thud as he offered one final, heartfelt prayer.

But only endless silence answered him.

When he finally lifted his head, the miracle he had hoped for had not come.

"You... seem to be in some trouble?"

Just as despair threatened to engulf him completely, a voice of exquisite beauty—one that could make a hundred flowers bloom and all things revive—reached his ears.

The old man's despair slowly dissipated. He looked up and saw a young girl standing before him.

Her waist-length hair faded from white to vibrant green, and her features were as delicate as a painted portrait. A long, white-and-green gown completely enveloped her body, and her bare feet—pale and slightly rosy—were exposed to the air. An aura of holiness and purity radiated from her entire being, like a Saintess descended from the heavens, inspiring no trace of irreverence.

Feeling the old man's gaze, the young girl smiled gently, soothing all the negative emotions in his heart.

"So, do you need any help?"

"You... you're a god?" The old man stammered, bowing his head and kneeling on the ground, his voice trembling.

The girl's expression froze for a moment before she shook her head. "No, I'm just a humble little physician quietly treading the Path of Abundance."

"A physician..." Even though the girl wasn't the God the old man had imagined, his reverence for her remained undiminished.

"Then... can you save us?"

"If that's your wish, then I can," the girl replied with a warm smile, fulfilling the old man's hopeful plea.

From that day forward, the universe lost a dying Dead Star and gained a vibrant planet where a hundred flowers bloomed in eternal spring...

And in the heart of the planet's most prosperous city, a colossal statue of the Saintess stood tall, receiving the daily prayers of countless people...

"Achoo!"

"Looks like someone I saved is thinking of me again."

The Saintess, revered by all for her divine and sacred aura, was currently sprawled on the sofa with one leg crossed over the other, looking utterly like a salted fish in a state of complete lethargy.

This young girl, named Lumina, appeared outwardly as an immaculate, holy figure, radiating purity and grace. In reality, she was nothing more than a lazy, indolent salted fish.

"Centuries, and you're still at 99.9%? What the hell is this, some kind of knockoff Temu app?!"

Lumina lay on the sofa, glaring at the screen only she could see, and grumbled in annoyance.

The screen displayed only two lines of text:

[Progress: 99.9%. Please wait patiently.]

[P.S.: Healing and purifying life will accelerate progress!]

"I've already become an Emanator! Why the hell are you still loading?"

"You can shove your progress bar right up your ***! ***! ***!"

Lumina stared at the progress bar and burst into a string of curses, her holy aura completely shattered.

"Haaah..."

Having exhausted her curses and seeing the progress bar stubbornly stuck at 99.9%, Lumina finally gave up struggling.

Centuries ago—no, wait, when in Rome... several Amber Eras ago—she had transmigrated to the universe of Star Rail.

Upon arrival, she awakened a system whose name remained a mystery. Why, after all this time, did she still not know its name?

Because this "precious" system had been stuck loading for several Amber Eras!

When the system first appeared, it tossed her a beginner's gift package, left a few cryptic messages, and promptly entered its perpetual loading state.

Great, she thought. A loading screen that lasts for eons.

The newbie gift pack contained only two items: Medical Expertise That Would Make Even the Abundance Aeon Bow Down and A Body Capable of Traversing the Cosmos.

The medical expertise was straightforward enough.

The body, however, warranted deeper inspection.

Its appearance was nearly identical to a Certain Dendro Archon from a certain Hoyo game she used to play in her previous life, except this body radiated a far greater aura of purity, sanctity, and divinity.

Lumina's body was perfectly proportioned, with everything sized just right. Not too large, not too small—it suited her perfectly.

But what Lumina truly adored were her impossibly long legs, the same ones she'd been playing with for several Amber Eras without ever growing tired of them.

These legs were simply extraordinary. Lumina couldn't find the words to describe them—the kind that would make any living creature's mouth water at the mere sight of them.

The fact that she herself had never grown tired of them after several Amber Eras was proof enough of their allure.

Before the System began reloading, it had left behind a few messages:

[This System's energy has been depleted and requires reloading.]

[The host can accelerate the System's loading progress by using medical skills to save lives.]

[P.S.: Any life form will do.]

[Once the System has finished loading, I will assist the host in reaching the pinnacle of the cosmos!]

Lumina recalled how she'd taken that "precious" System at its word, wandering the cosmos for several Amber Eras and healing countless lives. She couldn't even begin to count how many.

After wandering the cosmos for roughly an Amber Era, Lumina's extraordinary medical skills and selfless dedication finally caught the eye of the Abundance Aeon Yaoshi. The compassionate Yaoshi, recognizing a kindred spirit in Lumina, took an immediate liking to her and bestowed a blessing upon her without hesitation.

The extent of the blessing remained unknown, but it instantly filled Lumina to the brim.

Empowered by Yaoshi's blessing, the system's loading progress in her mind surged to 90%. Lumina felt a surge of boundless ambition, as if electrified by pure adrenaline.

That ambition had sustained her... until now. Staring at the 99.9% loading progress, her fervor had completely dissipated.

Lumina found a beautiful, vacation-worthy planet, built a cozy cottage, and then unleashed her ancestral skills: she was ready to slack off completely.

[Detecting host's intent to slack off. Progress +0.1%.]

[Progress reached 100%. System activated.]

[Hello, host! The Super Popular Character Assistance System is now online.]

Lumina: ???

Alright, alright. Looks like slacking off actually works.
