When the Potter family had apparated to Kings Cross Station Lilly gave her daughters a hug and a kiss on the cheek before giving Harry a pat on the back as she sent them on their way.
Once they all got on the Hogwarts Express the girls abandoned Harry as usual and went off to find their friends as Harry went to find a compartment for himself.
Ever since his third year, Harry had always managed to find a compartment for himself that he used to read and study.
After finding the Chamber of Secrets Harry had learned several strong disillusionment spells so that he could remain hidden in his compartment for the Hogwarts Express train ride so that he could study Salazar Slytherin's works.
Even though they could only be read by someone who understood Parseltongue, Harry didn't want to risk the manuscripts falling into the wrong hands at school.
Once Harry found an unused compartment he applied his usual spells and cracked open a journal of Salazars that he had wanted to get to for a while but he had never had the time for.
And now he had a 9-hour train ride which Harry could use to read.
