A woman stood on the edge of a massive floating platform, staring into the sky.
Her armor shimmered with silver runes, her long obsidian hair braided in ceremonial coils. On her back rested a blade forged from astral flame.
She was known as Selena Vael, the Heir of Heaven, and her power was unrivaled among this generation.
Behind her knelt four armored warpriests, trembling.
"He returned from the Void," one whispered. "The child of Draven... Kael."
Selena turned, eyes glowing with celestial light.
"He accepted the Abyss."
"Yes, my lady. He bears the Void Crest. His power grows faster than prophecy allows."
A soft smile touched her lips.
"Then fate is finally interesting again."
She lifted her hand, and a scroll of light appeared.

From above, the sky split open.
A beam of golden starlight cracked through the clouds as Selena descended like a comet, her blade singing with divine judgment. Behind her, a trail of spirit banners, war talismans, and summoned watchers lit the sky like a festival of war.
Kael stepped forward, face calm.
"You're early."
"You're infected," Selena said coldly. "The Void stains you. It must be burned out."
Kael smirked. "Try."

Selena struck first, summoning [Heavenbrand Swords], ten astral blades raining from above.
Kael activated [Abyssal Pulse], disrupting the laws of gravity. The blades twisted midair and slammed into the ground harmlessly.
Selena frowned. "You've grown."
Kael flicked his hand—Void Spears erupted from every direction, bending light and shadow. Selena's wings of light flared, blocking them, but her breath hitched.
"He can rewrite terrain laws mid-battle…"
Kael didn't stop.
[Void Echo – Second Slash]
A phantom version of himself struck from behind her, a technique he'd stolen from the Mythic Trial. Selena barely dodged, losing a strand of hair.
For the first time, she looked... angry.
"You're not supposed to be this strong. The heavens said—"
"I don't care what the heavens said," Kael interrupted. His eyes glowed purple-black. "Because I don't serve them."
"I will kill you, Selena. But not today."
The realm began to quake. Kael raised his hand.

With a flash, he vanished into a tear in reality.
Selena was left standing, breath heavy.
"Kael Draven…" she whispered, fists clenched. "I will bring you to your knees. Even if the stars must fall to do it."
