"Can I even take revenge like this?" Izumi Uchiha the Miserable Uchiha sounded utterly hopeless.
"You won't know unless you try. And by the way, you haven't told me your name yet. What exactly happened to you? Give me the details. Maybe I can help you figure something out," Kevin Cross said.
"I'm Izumi Uchiha. A few years ago, I was ambushed by a masked man. I was lucky, I guess my heart is slightly off-center, so it wasn't pierced. But he gouged out my eyes. I never imagined that would be the start of my nightmare. For reasons I still don't understand, my own clan didn't save me. Instead, I was handed over to Shimura Danzo's Root division..." said Izumi, still broken.
"Izumi Uchiha? Masked man… Oh, I get it now. You're the Izumi Uchiha who liked Itachi," Kevin immediately recognized who she was and her tragic backstory.
Izumi Uchiha never appeared in the Naruto manga, but in the anime, she was shown to have awakened the three-tomoe Sharingan. On the night of the Uchiha massacre, she was killed by Obito Uchiha. But this Izumi seemed… both luckier and more unfortunate. Obito had gouged out her Sharingan, but thanks to the slight offset of her heart, she wasn't fully killed. Unfortunately, she ended up as a forgotten remnant, thrown into Danzo's Root labs to be used as a test subject.
"You know me?" Izumi asked, still dazed.
"Let's just say… not only do I know you, I also know the truth behind the Uchiha massacre."
"The truth? The Uchiha… really were wiped out?" Izumi looked stunned, as if unable to accept it.
"You didn't know? Oh, right. You were attacked that night. Obito gouged out your eyes, and everything that happened afterward… you didn't see."
"Wait you're saying it was Obito who took my eyes? But he's dead. He died a long time ago!"
"Nope. Obito didn't die. He was saved by Madara Uchiha and became his proxy. He was the one behind the Nine-Tails incident. It was because of him that the Fourth Hokage and Kushina Uzumaki died."
"That… that's not right. Even if he was Madara's proxy, the Fourth Hokage was his teacher!"
"Exactly. Betraying his teacher and ancestors. Honestly, the Uchiha clan was always dangerous like that. Something happens, and boom personality flip. Even the good ones turn into monsters. Obito was like that too. After seeing Rin die, he lost it and decided to cast Infinite Tsukuyomi on the whole world."
"My head… it's a mess…"
"Doesn't matter if you're confused. What matters is do you want revenge?"
"Of course I want revenge. But I'm in no state to"
"I already told you the chat group can heal you. Even make you stronger. All you have to do is become my wing," Kevin said.
"If it really lets me take revenge, then being your… your 'wing' doesn't sound so bad. But what do I have to do? And how do you know all this stuff? If I want revenge, where do I even find Obito? And what about the Uchiha massacre… what happened to Itachi?" Izumi was full of questions.
"I know the answers to everything you just said. As for what you need to do oh, that's simple. Just agree to be my woman, and the chat group will start healing you."
"Just agree to be your woman, and the group will heal me? That easy?" she asked.
"Yep. Once you say yes, you can't take it back. The group makes it binding. And once you do, I benefit too," Kevin replied.
"Take it back? All I care about now is revenge. Everything else means nothing."
"Perfect. From this moment on, you're my woman. You're my wing." Kevin grinned from ear to ear. He'd spent nearly thirty years without ever having a girlfriend, and now thanks to his golden finger he was no longer single.
The moment Izumi Uchiha accepted Kevin's offer, a wave of life force surged into her near-dead body buried deep underground. Her crushed and rotting organs began to rapidly regenerate. Her missing limbs regrew at astonishing speed. Even her hollowed eye sockets were soon wracked with pain as her stolen Sharingan started to regenerate.
In less than a minute, Izumi Uchiha's body was completely restored.
The flat, lifeless earth above her trembled slightly. A hand burst through the soil, and then Izumi herself clawed her way out from the ground.
"I… I'm actually healed? This isn't genjutsu?" Izumi's face was filled with disbelief then utter joy. She tilted her head back and broke into uncontrollable laughter.
Regaining her life was cause enough to celebrate but far more important was that she now had the strength to seek vengeance.
"Thank you. Thank you, Group Leader. I'm healed. Even my Sharingan… it's come back. Thank you. Truly, thank you." Once she calmed down, Izumi expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Kevin.
"No need to thank me. You're my woman now. We're family. No need for formalities." Kevin smiled wide.
It was only a verbal agreement, sure, but with the chat group as witness, there was no going back. So even though they barely knew each other, Kevin was genuinely happy.
"Family… I understand. So what should I do next?" Izumi asked. When Kevin said "family," she bit her lip slightly, her eyes flashing with determination.
"What next? Well, obviously revenge. Oh, I haven't told you yet who your enemies really are and what the situation is now," Kevin said, catching himself.
Izumi looked slightly confused. In her mind, she had already agreed to be Kevin's woman, so she had assumed he would want to… take her. At the very least, she thought he'd want her body. So when she asked what she should do next, what she really meant was: how should she offer herself to him?
But Kevin had immediately jumped to the topic of revenge.
Though she understood that Kevin had only helped her because of his interest in her, his lack of urgency or lust actually made her feel more at ease and raised her opinion of him just a little more.
