Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Current Situation, I'm in Such a Tough Spot

Yun Yi struggled to calm herself, taking several deep breaths before her emotions settled.

The space in front of her shrank dramatically—the original double courtyard and three-story medicine building had vanished without a trace, leaving only the prefabricated villa she had purchased in modern times standing alone.

The spiritual spring well was nowhere to be seen, the distant fields were barren, and only a third of the stream remained, with sporadic greenery dotting the mountains, presenting a desolate scene.

She tried to teleport to investigate but was unable to do so due to the exhaustion of spiritual energy in the space, forcing her to walk around on foot.

The famous trees on the mountain were gone, leaving only young saplings, and the breath of life was cut off, leaving Yun Yi's mind in a daze. In the end, she sighed and returned to the villa. Upon pushing open the door, she was suddenly stunned: the furnishings inside were as usual, exactly the same as before.

The spiritual spring, courtyard, medicine building, grassland creatures, medicinal fields, and even the hot spring pool had all been annihilated, leaving only this villa intact, as if it were a magically isolated island. She sat on the sofa, staring at the familiar layout, remembering the happy times spent with her family here, her heart aching as if it were being cut with a knife. Suddenly, she heard a noise from a room on the first floor, got up slowly, and approached. When she pushed open the door, she saw a little snow fox curled up on the ground, barely alive. "Little snow fox!" Yun Yi's tears flowed like a fountain as she picked it up and cried out loud.

The little snow fox, however, bit her fingertip with its last bit of strength, and suddenly a child's voice entered her mind: "Master, the fox is starving to death." Yun Yi suddenly looked up in severe pain, staring blurredly at the creature in her arms: "Did you just... speak?" The little snow fox weakly confirmed: "Besides you and me, is there any other living being here?" Yun Yi cried and laughed at the same time, while it emitted a weak single sound urging: "Hungry..." She hurriedly got up to find food, only to discover that the kitchen was left with only a few seasonings and a small jar of rice. She then remembered that before coming to the island to save her child, she had left all the prepared food in the cabin, originally so that the rescued person would have something to eat upon boarding the boat. She had no choice but to say to the snow fox in a hurry: "It takes time to cook porridge, I'll go out of the space to find food to save my life first." With that, she teleported out of the space, and the little snow fox secretly smiled bitterly: "The fox's life is barely hanging on, this is too hard..." When she re-entered the space, Yun Yi was carrying meat porridge and called out urgently: "Little snow fox, wake up!" But she saw no movement from it. She put her fingertip to its nostrils and said tremblingly: "It's only been a moment since the porridge started cooking, how could... it really be too late?" The silence of impending death pressed down on her, nearly suffocating her.
