Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Thousand-Year War

20 Years Later

Max sat atop a mountain of dead demons, his blood-drenched body a monument to destruction.

His long, tangled hair draped over his shoulders, wild and unkempt. His lone arm gripped his sword, the steel coated in centuries of rot and carnage.

The scent of death clung to him.

He barely noticed anymore.

He reached down, clawing into the corpse beside him, ripping its flesh apart before shoving it into his mouth.

A dull chew.

A lifeless swallow.

"I don't know how long I've been here."

His voice was deeper now—hollow, drained of anything remotely human.

"But my daily routine is simple—wipe out demon tribes. Repeat."

His eyes flickered toward the horizon.

Another village.

Another soon-to-be graveyard.

But as he watched, he froze.

Children.

Playing. Laughing.

One fell, scraping its knee.

The child cried, but its mother rushed to his side.

She kissed the wound.

She held him, tapping the bruised skin to soothe the pain.

Max's breath hitched.

His eyes stung.

Then—a single tear fell.

---

Flashback

A young Max ran through his home, laughing.

Then—he fell, scraping his knee.

His mother rushed to him, lifting him in her arms.

"It's okay, love."

She kissed his wound, tapping it gently.

"See? It'll stop hurting soon."

Max sniffled.

She smiled.

"My strong boy."

---

Max blinked, his chest tightening.

"I wish I could see my mother… my sister."

His voice was cracked, a rare moment of vulnerability buried beneath centuries of bloodshed.

Then—his expression darkened.

His body vanished into speed too fast for the demons to register.

By the time the wind settled, the entire village lay dead.

Men, women, elders, children—none survived.

And Max, once more, devoured them.

---

The Land of Dragons

The North stretched before him—an empire of dragons.

Max erased them all with ease.

Their molten breath, their invincible scales—nothing mattered.

Then—the Dragon King emerged.

For the first time in decades—Max faced true resistance.

Their battle shook the skies, lightning cracking upon the infernal lands as their strikes shattered entire mountains.

But Max was a monster now.

And monsters do not lose.

With one final swing, the Dragon King fell.

As it lay broken, it spoke.

"Please… spare me."

Max raised an eyebrow.

"You can talk?"

The Dragon King gasped.

"Defeat the King of Hell, and you will take his throne. The creatures of Hell will swear loyalty."

Max grinned.

"Good. I'll test this so-called King of Hell."

Then—he killed the Dragon King.

---

The Gatekeeper

The Castle of Hell stood before him.

A fortress untouched by time, its walls pulsing with raw, ancient magic.

Standing at its gates—the Gatekeeper.

Max attacked.

And was obliterated.

Yet—the Gatekeeper did not kill him.

For a reason unknown.

---

900 Years Later

Max sat before the gates once more, his blade resting across his knees. He killed the Gatekeeper but cant kill the king of hell

"I don't know how many years have passed."

His voice was tired, a rare exhaustion seeping through.

"I think… 1000 years."

He was right.

Hell had erased time.

Max had erased everything—except his goal.

"I don't know how many times I've tried to kill him."

He exhaled.

"I stopped counting after 5000."

He stood.

His hand shook.

A strange sensation after so long.

Was it fear?

Was it uncertainty?

"I don't give a fuck I will kill that motherfucker.

The doors shattered as he entered.

---

The Final Battle: Max vs. The Hell King

The Hell King rose from his throne, his monstrous form towering above all creation.

Hellfire erupted around him, his blade of infernal flames pulsing with destructive energy—a weapon Max named "Fire King" in the midst of battle.

"You return once more, failure."

Max's eyes gleamed.

"And I will return until I tear you apart."

The battle began.

Their blades collided, shaking the foundations of Hell itself.

The King wielded Hellflame, consuming the land with its unholy power.

But Max did not burn.

He fought like a beast, his lone arm swinging his sword with unmatched ferocity.

Each strike sent shockwaves through existence, the infernal palace crumbling beneath their war.

The Hell King's speed was unnatural.

His strength infinite.

But Max—Max was absolute.

Even as his body melted, even as his senses screamed but he did not fall.

The Hell King prepared his final move.

Max vanished.

Behind him.

His blade pierced through the Hell King's heart.

Silence.

The throne collapsed.

The Hell King fell.

Then max say monsters do not lose.
