The sun had just set below the horizon, yet there was plenty of light to be seen from the burning houses in the village. The buildings had been completly engulfed in flames, the roofs of the wooden buildings caving in trapping anyone inside the houses.
There was a single man walking on a path that ran through the middle of the village. He was wearing a long robe that was covered in mud and slightly burned. In his arms the man was carrying a young unconscious boy. He could hear the screams of the people trapped in the burning houses, but he didnt pay any attention to them as he simply did not care. And it was too late to save them anyway, the man thought to himself. The man stopped for a moment to gaze at the sky as rain cascaded down on to the burning village, and it had turned the path completly muddy.
As the man continued to walk he was beginning to see his destination the bank of a river that ran parallel to the village. And just as he had hoped he saw a small wooden boat, only attached to a wooden post by rope.
Walking up to the boat, the man gently laid the young boy into the boat and he pulled out a small charm out of his pocket. The charm was a golden circle with a strange symbol carved into the middle of the circle, the charm had two holes on either side where a short rope was fitted through. The ends of the rope that pointed down were tied into a knot.
The man carefully put the charm into the hand of the boy and closed it, making sure he was holding it tightly. Then the man turned around and cut the rope that attached the boat to the post and then he turned back to face the boat.
"try to not cause anymore trouble for me, okay? kira." He said with as he pushed the boat with his foot and he watched as the current of the river swept the boat with it leading it to the open sea. And with this the man turned around and calmly walked through the village once again where the screams of agony were long gone as the rain had almost completly put out the burning houses and has he gazed at them he could see the charred corpses of families, but his expression was blank and he merely kept walking.
The boat drifted into the sea, the current of the sea was calm as the wave continued to push the boat forward, but it wouldnt last long as the quiet sound of distant thunder echoed throughout the sea as black clouds could be seen over the horizon.
The boy would slowly start to open his eyes, being awaked by the sound of crackling lightning stricking the sea getting louder and louder. He sat up looking around in a panic trying to comprehend what is happening, his heart beating so fast that he could clearly hear it and he was frozen in place. As the lightning struck the sea again, the sound of the lightning snapping him out of his frozen state, he stood up as he looked towards where the sound came from, his eyes widening and his pupils dilating he opened his mouth to scream, but he couldnt muster a sound. felt to his knees bendind forward his face in his knees as he placed his hands over his head
"This is a dream, right? Yeah, it must be a dream! It has to be!" He screamed out, though as he cowered in fear he felt something hard pressing againts his head he straightened his back and he lowered his arms as he looked at his hand he saw the charm in his left hand. "What? What is this?"
He couldnt understand what the charm was or where he had gotten it from, but it didn't matter to him right now. He lifted his arms up and clenched the charm with both hand closing his eyes in a desperate prayer to get out of this situation. His prayers would go unanswered as the boat continued to slowly drift towards the storm.
Soon enough the boat would be struck by lighting shattering the frail wood and splitting the boat in half. The boy clinged to one of halves of the boat with his right arm still clenching the charm in his left hand. The boat continued to fall apart board by board, he desperatly clinged to the boat thinking he would be alright.
Then suddenly a giant wave formed hitting the boy making him lose his grip on the boat and he was swept away by the waves, he couldn't resurface anymore and he would slowly lose consciousness due to being underwater for so long and as time passed he still couldn't get to the surface because of the strong current of the sea. Until he eventually completly lost consciousness.
