Chapter 12 - Ch -12 The more we grow ☆

Class 11

We entered Class 11, and everything felt new again —

New books. New classrooms. New people.

But us? Still the same chaotic four. Just taller, louder, and carrying more secrets.

That year, our class got shuffled. New faces filled the benches, and even though I sulked about not sitting near Zhou Rui at first, I slowly got used to it.

We made a few new friends too:

He Zemin, a quiet boy who loved chess and had a very dry sense of humor.

Gu Yinuo, a cheerful girl with round glasses and the loudest laugh in the world.

Meng Yifang, who could out-talk even me. (And that's saying something.)

And Qiao Lin, the serious class monitor who secretly watched K-dramas during lunch.

They all became part of our group — kind of. But deep down, our original four stayed closest.

Now let me talk about Lin Junxi for a moment.

In Class 11, he officially became "that boy" —

You know, the one every girl secretly writes about in her diary?

He had that sleepy-eyed charm, that quiet confidence, and that random habit of helping Zhou Rui

So of course, the girls fell. Hard.

They'd giggle around him. Offer him snacks. One even asked for his number in front of the teacher.

He just… blinked and turned away.

"Cold," they whispered. "So mysterious."

But I knew the truth.

He wasn't cold. He just had someone else in his heart —

Zhou Rui. The only one he ever looked at with that small smile.

And Zhou Rui? She still acted like she didn't notice. But her always turned red when Junxi stood too close.

As for me and Jiasheng, we got scolded in the very first week.

"Chatting again?" the teacher snapped.

"Sorry, sir," I said.

Jiasheng pointed at me. "She asked me to borrow a pen."

"I did not!"

"You did."

"Did not—!"

"Both of you—stand outside!"

We both groaned and walked out with matching sighs. But I swear… even punishment felt like fun when we were together.

"You're still the same lil bro," he teased.

I nudged his arm. "And you're still the same annoying big bro."

He grinned, but for a moment, his eyes softened as he looked at me.

I didn't know why, but my heartbeat did that stupid thing again.

Ugh. Not this again.

That year, we laughed more. Fought more.

And grew more — not just in height, but in feelings we didn't know how to name yet.
