Chapter 3 - ~ Watch Kristina

Kristina's POV

"Watch Kristina."

I couldn't tear my gaze away. His lips traced Lira's neck, savoring her skin slowly, deliberately. His hand slid beneath the opening of her back, exploring with an unsettling confidence.

"This is what I will do to you," he murmured, his eyes locking onto Lira's. A slow, devious smile crept across his face. "Lay down."

Could he really be planning to... do that in front of me? Did this man possess no shame at all?

Lira, blissfully, nestled onto the soft mattress, and Alpha Klain settled above her, his predatory gaze fixed on her with an intensity that made my heart race.

"When I take you," he whispered against Lira's ear, "this is how submissive I want you to be, Kristina."

I gulped, my heart hammering in my chest.

For just a moment, his eyes flickered to mine before he shifted his focus back to Lira. To my horror, he began kissing her intensely.

His hand gripped her waist as his mouth claimed hers, and she melted into him, giving him everything she had.

Their soft moans filled the room, wrapping around me like a shroud. I should close my ears, oh heavens, but I couldn't look away—the raw intimacy made my stomach flip and my toes curl in disbelief.

With deliberate slowness, Alpha Klain's long fingers slid Lira's robe down her shoulder, his lips following closely behind as they traced kisses along her collarbone.

And then he reached her breast, savoring the taste with his lips.

"Oh, Alpha," Lira moaned, urging him lower.

My fist curled, but I forced myself to look.

He gave the other breast the same attention, sucking tenderly, and I felt an ache of anger rise within me.

So this is how he spent the rest of his days—enjoying himself? After destroying my life and taking my parents from me, I would never forgive him, a vow I made ten years ago.

I would make certain to destroy him through what he loved the most.

A small smile curled my lips. How foolish he was to let me into his domain without a background check. Perhaps indulging in a harem had clouded his judgment.

Yes, let it be that way. So I can bring about your downfall.

"Kristina," Alpha Klain murmured my name in the sexiest voice I had ever heard, and I blinked in surprise.

Why did my toes curl at that sound? No, don't blame yourself, Kristina; it's only natural to feel this way—he is engaged intimately, after all, and you're only human.

"Yes." I kept my gaze fixed on his back, that smooth tan skin now contrasted with pale hands.

Lira's fingers roamed from Alpha Klain's hair down to his back, but he had stopped kissing her, merely brushing a strand of her blonde hair between his fingers.

"Go back to your room, Lira," he commanded.

Lira looked up at him, confusion etched on her face. "Why, Alpha Klain? Do you not like this?"

The shock in her eyes hinted at this being her first rejection. Huh, why is he stopping now? I was ready to see it through to the end.

Oh... Are you?

Alpha Klain pushed himself away from her, his smile fading from the side of his face, replaced by a deep frown. "I will send for you some other time."

Lira sat up, adjusting her sheer pink robe to cover her breasts, though it seemed pointless—she was already exposed.

Now that I thought about it, did this mean I would also be dressed that way?

Hell. No.

For the first time since she stepped in, Lira's gaze locked onto mine, and it was anything but friendly. The moment was brief, but the coldness pierced through my spine.

She turned to Alpha Klain, bowing slightly. "Very well. I will be waiting as always. Don't hesitate to call."

With a seductive sway, she got up and walked out of the room.

Alpha Klain's eyes remained fixed on her until she disappeared, then his golden gaze zeroed in on mine, narrowing with suspicion. "Who are you?"

Huh, that escalated quickly. What does he mean?

"I am Kristina."

Maybe he had a short-term memory issue. I didn't mind starting the introductions over again.

"No." He rose and strode toward me. He towered over me, but I didn't have to look up; he bent his head and whispered close to my face, "I have never seen you in my pack before. Tell me, who are you? Who are your parents? And why do you want to be here?"

"I told you," I replied, my hands clenching at my sides. They hovered delicately, either poised to push him away or pull him closer, wanting his musky scent all over me. "I told you I respect and admire you, that is why I'm here. As for my parents…" A flicker crossed my eyes. "They are both dead, so you don't have to worry. This is entirely my choice."

He stepped back, his hands pushed into his trouser pocket. His lips were pouted, those succulent lips slightly swollen—a reminder that he had been kissed just moments ago.

It was a reminder that didn't sit well with me.

Gathering my courage, I asked, "You told her to go. Why?"

Even though I was happy he had done it, I was still taken aback that he actually did.

Without batting an eye, he replied, "Because you trouble me."

"What?"

His gaze remained locked onto mine, unwavering. "You trouble me in a way no one else has, and now…"

His hand brushed over my cheek. "I don't want anyone to touch you except me."

I offered him a small smile. "I need more context."

He withdrew his hand, and a cool breeze from the opening above caressed my cheek. "I want you in a way I haven't wanted anyone."

I blinked, my lips parting in surprise. Is he serious?

"And no, it's not as part of a harem," he added, his eyes darkening with what seemed to be confusion. "But as something more."

I bowed slightly, my gaze drifting to the brown sandal on my foot. "Alpha Klain," I began, "I only came to you as part of a harem. Though I am honored by your words, I need nothing more."

"Kristina," he said my name slowly, his voice so compelling that I had to look up.

A slow smile curved his lips. "I know that, but as it happens, I am selfish."

Tilting his head to study me, he took a step closer. Just then, the door swung open, and a man with brown hair and brown eyes walked in. "Alpha Klain, Desdemona from the Moon Park is here."
