Chapter 29 - Chapter 29:

Kookie lay down on the bed, pretending to sleep, but his body trembled with fear beneath the covers. He waited anxiously for Jimin to wake up, his heart racing with every creak of the bed. When Jimin finally stirred and opened his eyes, he gently nudged Kookie awake.

Kookie's eyes fluttered open, and he forced a calm, sleepy expression onto his face. He adopted Jungkook's confident tone, "Morning, Jimin," and stretched, trying to appear nonchalant. Jimin looked at him with a curious gaze, but seemed to buy into the act, unaware of Kookie's internal struggle. Kookie held his breath, hoping he could keep up the charade without being discovered.

Jimin smiled and asked, "Did you sleep well, Jungkook?" Kookie, still pretending to be Jungkook, replied with a calm and smooth tone, "Yeah, I slept fine. You?" He tried to mimic Jungkook's usual responses and mannerisms, hoping to convince Jimin that everything was normal.

Kookie maintained a composed facade, but inside, he was still trembling with fear and uncertainty. He waited anxiously to see if Jimin would notice anything out of the ordinary, all while trying to keep up the act and protect his secret.

As they headed to the dining area for breakfast, Kookie, still pretending to be Jungkook, felt his anxiety spike. He was surrounded by the other members, all of whom were part of the Shadows. There was RM, Suga,J-Hope, Taehyung, and Jin.

Kookie's heart raced as he interacted with them, trying to maintain the facade of Jungkook's confident and charismatic personality. He exchanged pleasantries and jokes, all while keeping a watchful eye out for any sign of suspicion. The Shadows were notorious for their ability to read people, and Kookie knew one misstep could reveal his true identity.

As they sat down to eat, Kookie felt like he was walking on thin ice, unsure how long he could keep up the act without being discovered.

Jimin's eyes sparkled with mischief as he snatched Jungkook's banana milk, saying "Ah, Jungkook's favorite snack!" Kookie, still pretending to be Jungkook, felt a surge of panic. He tried to react in character, laughing and playfully trying to get the milk back, but his heart was racing.

As he reached for the milk, his sleeve slipped, revealing the bandage on his hand. Jimin's gaze flickered to the bandage, and for a moment, Kookie thought he saw a glimmer of curiosity in his eyes. Kookie quickly pulled his sleeve back down, trying to cover up the evidence. But he couldn't shake off the feeling that Jimin might have noticed something was off.

Jimin's voice was calm, but his eyes seemed to bore into Kookie's skin as he said, "Let me see your hand." Kookie's heart skipped a beat as he hesitated, trying to think of a way to deflect Jimin's attention. But Jimin's gaze was insistent, and Kookie knew he couldn't avoid showing him.

Slowly, Kookie held out his hand, trying to prepare for the worst. Jimin's eyes scanned the bandage, and then his gaze met Kookie's, searching for answers. Kookie held his breath, hoping that Jimin wouldn't see through his disguise. But Jimin's expression was unreadable, leaving Kookie wondering what he was thinking.

Jimin's eyes narrowed slightly as he examined the bandage, his fingers gently probing the edges of the wrapping. Kookie's heart was racing, and he tried to pull his hand back, but Jimin held onto it firmly.

"What happened to your hand?" Jimin asked, his voice low and serious. Kookie's mind went blank as he struggled to come up with a plausible explanation. He knew he had to think fast, or Jimin might start to suspect that something was wrong.

Kookie forced a nonchalant smile onto his face, trying to downplay the situation. "Oh, it's nothing. Just a small cut. I must have gotten it when I was... um... working out," he said, trying to sound casual. Jimin's gaze lingered on Kookie's hand, and then he looked up, his eyes searching Kookie's face.

Kookie held his breath, hoping that Jimin would buy his story. But Jimin's expression was skeptical, and Kookie could tell that he wasn't entirely convinced. "Let's get this cleaned and redressed properly," Jimin said, his voice firm but gentle. Kookie's heart sank as he realized he might be in trouble.

Taehyung's eyes sparkled with amusement as he chimed in, "Definitely a lie, tell us the truth, Jungkook." The other members leaned in, their curiosity piqued. RM raised an eyebrow, Suga's expression turned skeptical, and J-Hope's eyes lit up with excitement. Jin's face was a picture of concern, while Jungkook's supposed persona looked increasingly cold and defensive.

Kookie's anxiety spiked as he tried to maintain the facade. "There's nothing to tell, it's just a small cut," he said, his voice firm but icy. Taehyung chuckled, "Oh, come on, Jungkook, you're not fooling anyone with that story." The others nodded in agreement, their eyes fixed on Kookie, waiting for him to crack. Kookie's grip on his mask was starting to slip, and he knew he had to think fast to keep his secret safe.

Kookie's eyes began to well up with tears as the members continued to pressure him, their voices growing louder and more insistent. He didn't like being forced to do things or being pushed for answers he couldn't give. The sensation of being trapped and helpless was suffocating him.

As the tears started to spill down his cheeks, Kookie's voice cracked, "Just... just leave me alone, okay?" He looked around the room, feeling cornered and desperate. The members' faces blurred together as he struggled to maintain his composure.

For a moment, the room fell silent, and the members exchanged uneasy glances. Taehyung's expression softened, and he took a step back, "Hey, Jungkook, it's okay, we didn't mean to push you that hard..." But Kookie just shook his head, his emotions raw and exposed.

For a moment, the room fell silent, and the members exchanged uneasy glances. They were all shocked, having never seen Jungkook show such vulnerability before. RM's eyes widened in surprise, Suga's sharp tongue was momentarily stilled, and J-Hope's cheerful demeanor turned concerned. Jin's face reflected his worry, while Taehyung's expression softened.

Jimin then said "Hey, Jungkook, it's okay, we didn't mean to push you that hard..."

The members' reactions were a mix of surprise and concern, unsure of how to respond to Jungkook's emotional breakdown. But Kookie just shook his head, his emotions raw and exposed, "Just... give me a minute," he whispered, his voice barely audible.

Taehyung's eyes lingered on Kookie's tear-stained face, and he felt a pang of guilt. He hadn't meant to push him that far, and now he wondered if he had been too harsh. However, Taehyung kept quiet, his expression neutral as he watched the others try to comfort Kookie.

RM spoke up, "Yeah, let's just drop it for now." Suga and J-Hope murmured in agreement, while Jin placed a gentle hand on Kookie's shoulder. The tension in the room dissipated slightly as the members tried to make amends, but Kookie's emotions still lingered, raw and exposed.

Taehyung's silence was notable, his eyes fixed on Kookie as he seemed to be lost in thought. He didn't add his voice to the others, instead choosing to observe the scene unfold, his guilt simmering quietly beneath the surface.

Kookie's words hung in the air as he turned to leave, "I'll be back." With that, he walked out of the room, leaving the members in stunned silence.

As the door closed behind him, the members turned to Jimin, their faces filled with concern and confusion. "Does Jungkook always do this?" RM asked, his voice low. "We've never seen him like this before."

Jimin's expression turned somber, and he shook his head. "No, he's not usually like this. There are times when he's like this... I don't know why." Jimin's eyes seemed to cloud over, as if recalling a painful memory. "And when that time comes, he's hard to handle."

The members exchanged worried glances, their minds racing with possibilities. Suga spoke up, "Do you think it's related to that cut on his hand?" Jin nodded, "We should try to find out what's going on."

Taehyung remained quiet, still lost in thought, while J-Hope looked concerned. The group's dynamic had shifted, and they all seemed to be wondering what was really going on with Jungkook, and what lay beneath his usual confident exterior.
