The unknown number's response came swiftly. "Because you have questions, and I'm the only one who can answer them. Come alone, Jungkook." Jungkook's mind was racing with possibilities. Who was this person, and what did they know about him? The message sent a chill down his spine, but his curiosity got the better of him.
He hesitated for a moment, weighing his options. Should he go, or should he ignore the message? But something about the sender's words resonated with him. He decided to take a chance.
"How will I know it's you?" Jungkook typed, his fingers hovering over the send button. He waited for a response, his heart pounding with anticipation.
The unknown number's response came quickly. "You'll know. Just be there." Jungkook felt a shiver run down his spine as he read the message. The cryptic response only added to his growing unease. But he couldn't shake off the feeling that this person knew something about him that no one else did.
Jungkook's mind was made up. He would go to the meeting, no matter how apprehensive he felt. He needed answers, and this mysterious sender seemed to be the only one who could provide them.
He glanced at the clock on his phone, noting the time. Midnight seemed like a long way off, but he knew he'd be counting down the hours until then.
Unbeknownst to Jungkook, the unknown number belonged to Renn, who was actually working with Kaito. Kaito had given Renn a task before he was caught by the shadows - to lure Jungkook to the old warehouse on the outskirts of town. Kaito's plan was unfolding even from his place of confinement, and Renn was dutifully following kaito's instructions.
After the encounter, Jungkook felt nervous and on edge. He thought to himself, "I should tell the Shadows about this. They need to know what's going on." But something held him back. Maybe it was curiosity, or maybe it was a sense of self-reliance. Whatever the reason, Jungkook decided not to say anything.
He went into the bathroom, trying to collect his thoughts. But when he came out, he pretended like nothing had happened. His expression was neutral, his demeanor calm. Only he knew the turmoil brewing inside. The Shadows were oblivious to the secret Jungkook was keeping, and he intended to keep it that way... for now.
Jimin approached Jungkook, his eyes scanning his face for any sign of concern. "Hey, Kookie, did you find anything in the footage?" he asked, his voice casual.
Jungkook was caught off guard, his mind still reeling from the encounter with Renn. He hesitated for a moment, before shaking his head. "No, nothing out of the ordinary," he replied, trying to sound nonchalant.
Jimin's gaze lingered on Jungkook's face, as if searching for any hint of deception. But Jungkook's expression remained neutral, his eyes calm. Satisfied, Jimin nodded and moved on, unaware of the secret Jungkook was keeping.
The Shadows and Jungkook sat around the dinner table, the usual chatter and laughter filling the air. But Jungkook remained silent, his eyes fixed on his food as he pushed it around his plate.
The members noticed his unusual quietness, and J-Hope spoke up, concern etched on his face. "Hey, are you okay, Jungkook? You're kinda quiet."
Jungkook looked up, forcing a weak smile. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just don't feel good today," he said, trying to brush it off.
The members exchanged worried glances, but didn't press the issue, letting Jungkook be. Little did they know, Jungkook's mind was still reeling from the mysterious encounter, and his words were far from the truth.
After they finished eating, Jungkook and Jimin headed to their room. As they walked, Jimin fell into step beside Jungkook, his voice soft with concern. "Hey, Kookie, are you sure you're okay? Don't push yourself too much, okay?"
Jungkook glanced over at Jimin, feeling a pang of gratitude towards his friend. He smiled slightly, trying to reassure him. "I'm fine, Jimin-ah. Really. Just a little tired, that's all."
Jimin's eyes searched Jungkook's face, but he seemed to accept Jungkook's words, nodding slightly. "Alright, if you're sure... Just take care of yourself, okay?"
Jungkook nodded, feeling a bit guilty for not being entirely truthful with Jimin. He knew his friend was looking out for him, and he appreciated the concern. As they entered their room, Jungkook made his way to his bed, feeling a mix of emotions swirling inside him.
Jimin watched him for a moment before nodding and heading to his own bed. "Get some rest, Kookie. You look like you need it," he said, his voice gentle.
Jungkook nodded again, feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over him. He lay down on his bed, his mind still racing with thoughts.
The hours ticked by slowly, Jungkook lying awake in bed, waiting for the perfect moment to slip out. Finally, the clock struck midnight, and Jimin's gentle snores filled the room, a sign that he was fast asleep.
Jungkook carefully got out of bed, trying not to make any noise. He grabbed his phone and quietly made his way out of the room, closing the door behind him with a soft click.
The hallway was dimly lit, the only sound the creaking of the old building. Jungkook's eyes widened in surprise as he stumbled upon Taehyung in the hallway. He quickly composed himself, trying to appear calm. Taehyung, however, looked at him with a raised eyebrow, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"What are you doing up at this time?" Taehyung asked, his voice low and smooth.
Jungkook shrugged, trying to sound nonchalant. "I wanted to take a walk outside. Fresh air, you know?"
Taehyung's gaze lingered on Jungkook's face, as if searching for any hidden truth. But Jungkook's expression remained neutral, and Taehyung seemed to accept his explanation. "Oh okay" he said.
Jungkook was surprised that Taehyung didn't press the issue further or try to stop him. Instead, Taehyung simply said okay.
