J'onn Condex's face hardened where he stood. His heart weighed heavy and at once filled with resentment and hatred. He was so jealous, seeing her laugh and converse with the man in the cafe, but aware Bonnie Shawn is having an affair with some other man to the point of giving him a child filled his bones with jealousy. All he could notice was red. He did not appreciate the fact that his eyes were getting watery. "You bi tch!!!!!!" He yelled, slamming into the wall the glass cup he was carrying with the drink spilling on the floor and the couch, and soon enough, the pathway was strewn with broken glasses. All J'onn could see was red. He was neither an emotional person nor one to reveal his weakness. I did not know why I was greatly hurt. It was as if my heart was shattering into tiny pieces with the information I received. I felt strong pains that I had never felt before and before I knew, I was hard pushed to suppress my tears. I collapsed onto the couch beside me, and buried my face in my hands, trying to get a sense of what the hell was going on. In the next three minutes, I took my head out of my hand, picked up my phone, and went through the mail that had been sent to me by the personal Investigator, Ten'on. The email contained very detailed information about Ms. Bonn and her four-year-old daughter, Melissa. Sniffling, fighting back my tears, I scrolled through my phone book, I scrolled till I reached the number I was looking for. "Hey, what's up man." "Ryan!" "Yeah, you sound terrible. What happened?" "I saw her, Ryan." "Who?" "Holy sh it….wait…" "You saw Ms. Bonn?" "Yes," "F uck….where? I thought she already died" "Here in FAREO ISLAND." "Needless to say, I am shocked!!! How….where did you bump into her?" "At the Cafe. She too was surprised to see me. But she said that she didn't recognize me." "Ten'on looked into it fast. She's my Ms. Bonn. She's come far. She left me with nothing and now she has so much more. She works for a leading marketing firm as the senior manager. She has properties in her name and on top of all that, she has a daughter." "What?? A daughter???? Holy sh it, she's married? She's moved on? Are you serious?" "Ten'on said she's still single and I remember not being able to see a ring on her finger. Though she's still single, he made sure to let me know she has a plethora of admirers." "The daughter?!" "I don't know, Ryan." "How old is the child?" "Four years old." There was quiet between the two for a couple of seconds. "She left five years ago. Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" I don't know what you're thinking but all I see here is Betrayal. She recovered too quickly. It implies that she didn't feel anything for me. Everything was a deception." "Slow down, J'onn and No that's not what I was thinking. Is there any probability.I mean, can she be yours?" "Based on calculations, it would make sense if the little girl is yours? I went down into thought for a moment as my friend's answer sank into me. "No….no. No, I don't think so. If she was mine, then I would have known. Ms. Bonn always told me everything. She never kept anything from me." "It's obvious that she moved on. She got involved in an affair the moment she disappeared and hence the baby ensued." "I see what you mean. You may be right but that girl could also be yours." "Ms. Bonn would not hold back such information as this from me if the pregnancy were mine." "The four-year-old bears her now famous surname. It's so hard to find out about the father." I don't think I was on cloud nine a while back. I even texted the pilot that I won't be leaving tomorrow anymore, hoping I could resolve things with her before I leave from here. "I should text him to advise him not to make any adjustments." "Try to calm down, J'onn." "I can't. This pain is too much for me to bear. I must leave from here as soon as possible." Ryan let out a deep sigh. "I know this is crazy, man. But I want you to relax." "It doesn't matter whether the child is yours or not. I think you still need to talk to her. I'm certain that you two have a lot to say to each other." "I have nothing to say to her." "No, don't do that brother. You've been searching for her for how long now? Now that you know where she is, you want to toss all of that away?" "It's pointless, what's the use fighting?" "You'll regret leaving without talking to her about it." She rejected me. She disrespected me. She humiliated me and now she has a child! This is not what you should do. It's alright to feel hurt, lost, and betrayed but going back home is not the best thing to do." "Remember that she was hurt too? The manner in which the two of you broke up, how hard it must have been for her, so technically, her doing this is right." "You were not expecting her to attack you when you saw her just right? "I don't know, Ryan. This is a whole lot. Finding out who has literally kept me up nights these past years and regretting it." "Knock it off, man. Take an hour or two off if you need to. Catch a nap if it'll make the lessening of the agony easier. And believe me, bro, this is the time to cut out every type of Ego still left in you." "Not only do you have to talk with Amy. Don't go home unless you make up with her!" J'onn just stood there in silence for a few seconds. "I have to go." He finally grumbled. "Be careful. And don't do anything wrong." As her brother had suggested, Bonnie Shawn drove straight to her daughter's school to take her home. She reached right away and Melissa was more than happy to be with her mom again. They walked along each other to the car, her hands entwined in Melissa's little ones afterwards and towards the car. Bonnie Shawn buckled up her daughter later and helped herself into the driver seat and departed the school. The duo reached home in minutes. Bonnie Shawn helped her daughter to take off her clothes later and then she bathed for her. Melissa kept herself engaged with her cartoons while her mother bathed. Once Bonnie Shawn came back into the living room, the little girl descended from the couch, and dashed towards her mother, wrapping her arms around her legs. Bonnie Shawn giggled. She picked up her daughter in her arms, hugged and smacked her cheek, and then set her on her hip and walked into the kitchen. "What do you want to have to eat?" She set her daughter on the kitchen counter. "What's wrong, Mommy?" Bonnie Shawn arched her brow. "What do you mean?" "You look sad." "Sad?!?" She laughed. "No Honey, I'm not." "It's not good to tell lies, Mommy" "I have you. So why would I be sad?" "I don't know." She shrugged her little shoulders. "Someone made you sad." "I'm not sad, my love." She rubbed her daughter's rosy cheeks. "I might be a little tired from work but I'm not sad. I have nothing to be sad about." "Okay, I know what will make you happy." "Seriously?" Bonnie Shawn folded her arms. "What is it?" "I painted a picture of us. It's in my school bag." "Interesting."
