Chapter 22 - The Lord's round table

" Okay ladies and gentlemen sit down we have a lot to discuss."

Everyone took their seats at the large oval table and chairs in front of the throne. This time a little bigger one to accommodate all the Archangels and Crowley, Aziraphael, and Ella. There were name tags on the table, so each person knew where to sit. The chair to his left remained empty because the name Samantha stood there. If any of the Angels present thought this was strange, they didn't show anything. It had become more than clear since this morning what she meant to Alexander, and no one wanted to put anything in the way of those two. Next to that ever since the Coup Raphael, Gabriel, Rae Rae and Michael had done their part to make sure that the news about her importance for their new Dei was widespread. The seat on his right side was provided for Michael, next to it was Lucifer's, then Ella, then Crowley and Aziraphael. Immediately to his left next to the seat for Samantha sat Celine, Gabriel, Azrael, and then Raphael. Thus, it was made clear that this was the intimate circle around their new God. Only after Alexander took his seat did the rest take their places.

"Okay, people first this. At the end of this meeting, I am going to pass judgment on Amenadiel and the eleven remaining zealots. This will be the only time I will do this for Angels, Demons, or Humans on my own and without participation from you. This will be the only time I will play my divine trump card."

Around the table, people nodded and an assenting murmur resounded.

"I know most of your names but unfortunately not much about your specialty. So, I would have liked to take a lap around the table and if you would like to introduce yourselves for me, I would appreciate it."

First, he addressed Rae Rae:

"Darling, how are you doing? I'm sorry I was not completely there for you the last two days. Are you getting some rest?"

Everyone in his intimate circle got a warm feeling at these words. Although he had been in very bad shape for two days, he now felt the need to apologize for not having been completely there for others.

"Absolutely MyLord. My new Angels are totally excited and happy to have something to do. Even the move of your stuff from your suite in Hell to your suite here they found more than amusing. I'm absolutely pleased that I can report that except for some nerves there was no trace of hostility when they had to work together with Demons and even took orders from Anna without hesitation. Most of them would just like to stay even after the backlog is cleared."

"I can't promise you that you can keep more than 24 once the Hell project is up and running but after that, you can always get more if needed. For the moment, feel free to keep using all them all. That way the work can be divided, and no one has to work their asses off. It will give them all more time to transport the souls. Maybe you could suggest to them to have a little chat with the more nervous souls, put those one more at ease so to speak. Will you give me the name of one of your people you think could perfectly perform the role of your right hand, though? I have a name for your department, but it sounds a little sinister. I must acknowledge that I lacked a bit of inspiration. The Death Department. Please come up with something better with your people, will you."

She nodded and was assured that Alexander would keep his word. That she would always have at least 24 Angels to assist her. Or rather to lead because she was no longer the only Angel of Death, she was now the head of an entire department. She said immediately without hesitation:

"How about SAR MyLord?"

"SAR?"

"Yes MyLord, like rescue services on Earth use; Search and Rescue."

"Rae Rae you are a genius. SAR it is then!"

Alexander pointed to the Angel sitting to the left of Raphael and he began to speak, uncertain at first but then increasingly at ease:

"I am Metaron, the second oldest after the twins. I am sorry that I belonged to the group you call undecided."

Alexander raised his hand and smiled:

"You should not apologize, my friend, no one has anything to apologize for. I know how hard it was for you guys, so I don't blame anyone. So should there be any other people here at the table who were undecided, you should not apologize. Please go on please Metaron."

"I was once the voice of God. I went to Earth in the beginning to bring a message from God to humanity as God's voice, as to Abraham and later Moses with the commandments, but that was millennia ago. I can cleanse a person's mind of negative emotions and I am also the keeper of the Akashic Records. The files of every human being who has ever lived and is alive today. In Hell, my counterpart, a demon by the name Belios has a copy of everyone who now resides in Hell."

Alexander thought for a moment and then asked:

"How many people do you have left Metaron?"

"17 MyLord."

"Do you have a way to quickly go through those files looking for souls in Heaven who have a specific trait? For example, if I say I want the files of every soul who resides in Heaven but is clearly a sociopath who has hurt other people and therefore belongs in Hell can you find them quickly, So they can be transferred to where they belong?"

"No MyLord. The system is not designed for that, well not anymore. In the beginning, there were not that many people on Earth. So, it was very easy for an Angel of Justice to request and consult the right file. Over time, Father found the whole department redundant hence no Angel has cared for it in the past millennia. Other than myself, I don't think anyone has been there yet. It's utter chaos, everything is just dumped there without any order. Result, we simply do not know how many of these figures slipped through the cracks."

Alexander made notes in a notepad he had made appear with his fountain pen that he had received so long ago from Samantha. As he pondered, he asked Gabriel:

"Gabe, can we introduce a way for which it would be easy for me and actually for everyone on the council to take notes so that everybody can consult what was said and decided in these meetings? Or wait can you see if there would be an Angel who would be willing to take minutes and afterwards provide everyone on the council with a copy? Maybe put it into the form of an easy-to-read newsletter for all Angels so everyone knows what we are discussing. I want as much transparency as possible."

"Yes MyLord, I think I can find someone who would be happy to do that."

"Thanks, Gabe. Metaron would you take a look at your archives and get me a list of what you would need to put it back in order? That will be your department again. Do you mind if we give it a slightly simpler and more modern name? For example, simply The Archives?"

"Of course MyLord."

Said Metaron and it was immediately seen that he grew a few inches in his seat, he sat upright and his shoulders were no longer slumped because he had been restored to his original existence and that was something Alexander took pleasure in and had in mind for all Angels.

" In addition, I would like, if you have nothing against it of course, that you put on a more modern look. After all, there is a very good chance that you are going to become the voice of God again and I am going to send you to Earth."

His eyes got all big now and he didn't know how quickly to nod.

"If you would have trouble with that, with that modern look I mean, I suggest you ask Lucifer for advice, maybe pay him a visit on Earth so he can go shopping with you."

The Angel didn't know what hit him. A visit to Earth, Spending time with the Lightbringer for the first time in millennia. Unheard of. With a crooked smile, Alexander turned to his father:

"You don't mind, do you Lucifer? I know how much you love taking trips to Sunset Boulevard, Fifth Avenue, the Champs Élysées, or Milan and that you walk around with a bunch of Black credit cards."

With a little sour smile, the latter said as Ella sat giggling:

"Of course not MyLord, with pleasure."

"Good, that's agreed then."

He turned to Metaron one last time:

"If you want to do me a personal favor Metaron. Will you use your powers on my children for a moment unnoticed?"

Everyone knew immediately what he meant. Those children had lived in deplorable conditions. Any little help they could get would definitely be welcome. He pointed to the Angel next to Metaron.

"I am Chamuel. My Angels and I used to be responsible for welcoming the departed souls into Heaven. I was also the Angel who could make the love that two people feel for each other stronger. A nudge as it were."

With a little bitter smile, he added:

"Humanity has turned me and mine into Cupid. Well, at least we have some kind of holiday on the fourteenth of February while it is not really addressed to us."

Ah, thought Alexander, so it was this Angel that Gabriel had addressed to give Ella and Lucifer a boost. Not that this secret would ever come out, he thought. Little did he know that his father had already figured this out and had shared it with Ella in their little conversation.

"In human language, your name means, he who sees God, fitting if you are the one who welcomes their souls. How many Angels do you have under you Chamuel and if souls are no longer welcomed what happens to them?"

The Angel looked at the table and answered softly:

"None anymore MyLord. My group was one of the first to be purged as we had become completely redundant. Father didn't give a damn about love or the souls. The only reason I remain is probably because I'm an Archangel but even that is not certain since we lost other Archangels as well. I have no idea how Father managed the souls on arrival. He never told anyone anything."

Another reason to decapitate the old fool Alexander thought. How many more reasons would he discover?

"I'm very sorry about that Chamuel. We are going to reinstate your department immediately. The human souls who arrive deserve to be welcomed. First, we are going to find volunteers for your department and at the same time create a place where the souls can be welcomed and explained about their existence in Heaven. Let's say we are going to call your department Hospitality?"

Again he made a note in his block and turned to Gabriel:

"Can you send out a message? A hundred or so volunteers for Chamuel. Preferably just warriors who want something useful to do."

"Of course boss."

Alexander turned to the Angel again:

"If you would like to start this afternoon with your volunteers. Go to the human fields, divide those into quadrants so your volunteers don't do the same area twice, and have a chat with the souls. Put together a survey of sorts. What do they miss most about Earth, what do they need? Things like that. Maybe keep it to a question or ten. You by no means have to survey them all. Maybe eighty thousand. Then we'll get a picture of the ten most common things they need and see how we can introduce those. Oh yes, before I forget, ask them what the situation is with schools for children and youth arriving here. Although I want us to have as little interference as possible in their existence, in their rest in the human fields that is. Still, I would very much like to introduce some sort of compulsory schooling, up to eighteen let's say. That way those children would still get some general education."

Chamuel nodded enthusiastically. Glad that his department will be revived. Next to Chamuel sat an Angel he already knew quite well, Jophiel.

"Jo, I know you are an Angel of love and mercy. Are there any other things you and your Angels are specialists in and how many people do you have under you?"

"Like Cham here, my department has taken heavy hits. I have six people left. We can also provide comfort and emotional support to those who need it. Especially for children in need."

Alex rubbed through his curls for a moment and said:

"I wish I had a few thousand Angels with your specialty Jo once the Hell Project burst loose. Since I don't yet know what I'm going to do with you and your Angels in the future I would like you to put your heads together and come up with a name for your department and come up with suggestions on where I could put you to work. Would you mind lending your people to Cham for the time being? Among the people, there may be some who need some love and support. Let them go nuts with their blessings."

He said with a smile knowing very well what this would do to her Angels.

"I would ask you to spend your nights near our children for the time being or else set up a role turn with your people."

"No, MyLord I will do that myself and it is my honor!"

She said a little louder than she would have liked and she got a little blush on her cheeks.

"Well thank you very much for that Jo."

Said Alex with a warm smile. This time he did not have to point. The Angel beside Jophiel understood it was his turn and spoke:

"I am Barachiel archangel technology and protector of engineers. My department was also decimated, I have 22 people left, all turned into warriors now. Father thought it was unnecessary for us to move with the times here in the Heavenly City. We used to visit Earth and whisper things in some people's ears that allowed them to develop better building techniques and other technical things."

"Okay, first things first. Michael, select Barachiel Angels and send them back to their department. You said that your father did not think that you here in Heaven should move with the time. Does that mean that the development of the city has been stuck in the time of the Roman Empire?"

"Not quit My Lord. He put the most emphasis on the warriors and that department kept contact with humanity in a very loose form. But trough that contact some knowledge kept coming in so certain advances kept being made. Others not so much. A lot of the buildings and the style of building are old, really old. What technology concerns again the warriors got the knowledge of what they had on earth so they are the most advanced here in Heaven. Other departments got the scraps so to speak."

Alex looked at Barachiel long and instinctively a thick smile appeared on his face:

"I take it you've never heard of Bond, James Bond, Barachiel?"

Ella and Crowley, who seemed to know exactly where this would lead, dropped their heads and sat giggling.

"No MyLord, I don't know anyone by that name."

Said the Angel confused.

"Hmmm, do I correctly understand that as Angels of technology, you can recreate modern things that exist on Earth and make them work here in Heaven?"

The Archangel nodded:

"If we could see an example of what is made on Earth and touch it then we would know how it works and then we could quite easily recreate everything and make it work here in Heaven."

"I would kiss you on the mouth but you're too far away."

Laughed Alexander:

"As for James Bond, I will invite you to our home one of these days for dinner and afterward show it to you. Suffice it to say for now that James has a department at his disposal that makes all sorts of gadgets that benefit him in his work. So would you very much mind doing me a favor, to rename your department the Q Department and may I please address you as Q during work?"

Now Ella and Crowley were just laughing openly. The Angel looked at them confused and for a moment thought he was being made fun of by his new God, but Ella said:

"Barachiel we are not laughing at you, but with Alexander, you must excuse him. For him, Q is apparently a personal little guilty pleasure."

Said Ella. Reassured, the Angel said:

"In that case if it is a personal pleasure for you MyLord I do so with great delight and you may address me as Q with pleasure."

Alexander, who had been anxiously awaiting his answer did a high five with Gabriel, something the Angels who had not been on Earth for so long did not understand one iota.

"Q, how long does it take you when you see a modern device to recreate that?"

"Depends on the size and how complex the device is MyLord, but for smaller devices I think a few minutes..."

"Q, you and I will become very good friends."

Said Alexander with a sparkle in his deep green eyes. Barachiel nearly fell off his chair. First, his God had said he wanted to kiss him on the mouth, then invited him to his private quarters, something that was unheard of an Angel in the private quarters of God and now God said they would become good friends. Alexander turned to Ella:

"Ella, how long would it take on Earth for you to get your hands on the best laptops, best desktops, tablets, e-readers, printers small and professional, and very important servers? But also specialized software like SAP. Oh yes, Lucifer will pay the bill, he is rich enough."

He said again with a fat smile toward his father who said:

"Of course MyLord, what else do you need? The crown jewels, the papal tiara, the Kog-i-Noor?"

"Nah, I can make those trinkets myself."

Ella replied:

"I do know a company that could deliver everything you listed at once and in a few hours. More specialized electronics, like servers, maybe a day or two maybe three."

"Perfect. Q, Ella is going to provide a range of devices that you can scrutinize to build later here in Heaven. We are going to start with laptops. I'm going to make sure those are wireless connected among themselves and can communicate with Heaven, Hell, and Earth itself. Every department will need them. Later on, we are going to look into building a wireless network in Heaven, first in the city and then in all of Heaven. It's time that we take Heaven out of past and make it fully high tech and digital!"

He looked at Gabe and said with a smirk:

"I would love to send a message to Elon Musk on earth but it would be a bit strange getting a note from God saying that he is a fat amateur with his Starlink compared to what we are going to do here!"

Gabriel shook his head in amusement. Alexander gave of that special vibe that he was firing on all pistons at the same time and at full power. He knew this would be fun. Barachiel, could do nothing but nod and was soaring in anticipation of returning to work in his specialty. Next up was Zadkiel.

"I am the Archangel Zadkiel, my department was justice, the laws that Father drafted and communicated to mankind through Metaron. We were responsible to see if the people kept them. With me, there are seven angels left after Father decided not to make any more laws for humanity."

Alex said:

"Zadkiel, I actually had another little project for you with priority first. But unfortunately, given the state of the archive, that's going to have to wait. But just in case I forget please make a note somewhere. I would like you to review the file of Abel, yes the son of Adam and Eve. Is there any chance that this soul could be taken to Heaven? I promised the mother to have his file reviewed. Although I am still incredibly pissed at Eve I would like you to give the son as much leeway as possible to be allowed into Heaven. Okay?"

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Ella gently nod and smile.

"For the rest, I'm going to be frank. I am not a big fan of making laws for humanity. I fully realize that there must be laws as a basis but too many and free will is just a hollow concept. But let me say that your father must have fallen on his head several times after which that head must have collided several times with a very hard object that had the density of granite!"

There was laughter around the table and not only by Alexander's intimate circle and he took this as a good sign.

"Come on be condemned to death because you wear clothes made of two different fabrics? Personally, I like it when my date wears a dress made of soft razor-thin silk with a very little something piquant lace underneath."

Alexander had been in contact with Samantha from time to time all along. On the one hand, to keep her informed of what was being discussed and on the other hand to get in on the fun the children were having. His last phrases at the table he had also radiated toward her and added a sneaky, oops, as if it was by mistake. She got a very wide smile in the garden and a bit of a blush on her face and telepathically sent back:

"You wish mister? Maybe after you earned it..."

Alexander continued in the throne room, but several attendees noticed that he too had turned a little redder.

"Being sentenced to death if you work on the Sabbath? Bullshit. Do you know how much fun it is in a club like Lux on the Sabbath? Being condemned to death if you plant two different crops side by side? Is there anything you don't get condemned for in his book? Oh yeah, kissing his ass! Okay Zad, we're going to completely change that mess. Throw all of his laws in the trash immediately and we're going to start from scratch putting together a new codex. A code of laws not the size of ten Bibles and written so that everyone can understand them. As few laws and as little interference as possible. And all that goes into it must be based on the following eight letters; DO NO HARM! With the caption Life and let life. Feel free to take your time and think about it together with your Angels. Come back when you have a rough outline of what you want to achieve and how you want to work it out and we'll talk about that further. Okay?"

"Absolutely MyLord, we'll get started right away."

Jeremiel was next up:

"My name is Jeremiel, archangel whose specialty is building and protector of builders on earth. The last few millennia we too have been assigned to Michael and so there has been very little building in the city but unfortunately very little maintenance has happened as well but that is Darel's department. And as you have heard MyLord, it is a mess out there. There is no uniformity and there are buildings from just about any era. Even some that have been put together in styles of different eras."

He pointed to the Angel beside him and Alexander nodded.

"From time to time Father commissioned a new temple to be built in his honor but the rest was forgotten and began to deteriorate. Since we are builders Father thought we would do well with Michael and that is why most of my people were spared, 1257 to be exact."

Alex made another note in his notebook and then asked:

"If you guys are specialists in building, does that mean demolition too?"

"Yes MyLord"

He turned to Darel:

"Are you doing a review of the buildings? I want to know which ones are salvageable and which ones are in need of renovation and thirdly which ones should simply disappear."

"No, MyLord. My department does the maintenance of existing buildings. Checking the structural integrity of buildings and architecture is for Mercury here next to me."

Alexander looked at the three side by side and at that moment decided to merge them:

"Do you three have a problem if I merge your departments and name it BAM? Building, Architecture, and Maintenance? I think it would make things a lot easier and more efficient in the future."

They seemed to answer in one voice:

"Absolutely not MyLord."

"Fine, so from now on you are one department and I would like you to work together in harmony, so I don't have to intervene. This applies to everyone. I hate but really hate having to behave like a manager whose way of working is micro-management. Who thinks he has no choice but to be on top of everything. I trust you all and I trust that you can run your department without too much interference from me or the council."

And this was yet another proof to the Angels present that Alexander was night and day different from their father. Just a few days ago, it was unheard of for an Angel to do anything without God's interference or oversight.

"First of all, I want you guys to have a little fun. I want a building, brand new, designed by the three of you together and therefore meeting everyone's expectations. This is where you will be housed, and it should be pleasant to work in. So, lots of glass allowing lots of light and lots of space inside for greenery and for the decorations your people want. A workplace where your people don't feel confined but is pleasurable to go to. It's your department so I'm not going to say whether a design is good or disapprove of a design. What you guys want to build together is completely your choice. I just want to see the design because I'm curious to see what you guys come up with."

God's notebook was already starting to fill up nicely with all the notes he was taking and this was just the first of these daily meetings.

"Mercury, it was you who checked the structural integrity of the buildings in the city?"

"Yes, MyLord."

"Okay, while you guys are designing a new building together I would like the rest of your people to check every building in the city. As I said before, I want an overview of all the buildings. Those that are in good condition, those that are salvageable, and those that are only good for demolition. Note that of the many temples out there, I want them all listed for demolition without exception. If the largest of those temples is in good condition or salvageable mark that as a building that stays. I want to have it made into a kind of museum later so that everyone can see and read with their own eyes what your father did. What he did to his own children and to my predecessors. So that this should absolutely never be repeated! Please provide a map of the city. I am specifically looking for buildings to quickly convert. I want flats in them for human souls. Three kinds. The first kind will have one bedroom for bachelors, the second two bedrooms for families or singles with small children, and the third kind with three bedrooms for families with adolescents who need a little more privacy than small children. And maybe later a fourth for bigger families who need more space. But I would prefer to put up new buildings for these in plots that became empty after we demolished buildings that are not salvageable."

He looked around the table with a smile and saw surprised and shocked faces. Alexander explained:

"I know that until now humans were never allowed into the city. But once the Hell Project breaks loose, we will have to recruit so incredibly many volunteers among the humans. Raphael and his 300 healers cannot possibly handle the influx of two and a half billion souls on their own. So, we will need therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists, as many as we can get. In addition, thousands for administration and tens of thousands to work as nurses and maintenance staff. For practical reasons, I want these people to be housed in the city. However, that is not the only reason. Samantha and I want Humans and Angels to be able to work and live together in harmony. In her universe, it is Sam who has begun to tear down those unnecessary walls. In her Heaven, there was a girl I was very good friends with when I was alive. Without wanting to go into details she arrived in that Heaven a little before I did. We both needed some kind of closure for what had happened to us on earth and I took care of that. Then I went to see her with Sam and the two of them became best friends. Consequently, Princess Samantha broke Mom and Dad's rules, and human souls have been coming into town ever since. Something that was extremely successful I must say."

Now the council members present began to nod. This might have been a huge change, but it could be good for both Angels and Humans. No more segregation.

"That's why those buildings are so important Mercury. Also, I need as big a building as possible for the transportation system I want to build so that people don't have to walk for hours through the city to get to their place of work. A mile and a half should be the maximum. I want to use that one building as a starting point and build from there until we reach every place in Heaven. For each building, I want an estimate of how much time it would take to build or renovate it and how many units it could house. You will have to work with Darel's people because I also want to know how much time it will take to furnish those buildings, we can hardly house those people in an empty apartment and have them sleep on a bare floor."

He looked at Nariel and Ariel and feared the worst:

"Since there are only two of you sitting here at the table I assume the arts department has been hit very hard?"

Ariel replied with tears in her eyes:

"Yes MyLord, we are the only two archangels of the arts left. The rest have been killed. Of the other arts, there are Angels remaining but in total there are only one hundred and eighty of us left."

Alexander pinched the bridge of his nose wearily. Thought for a moment and got a small smile on his face:

"I know that Angels of the Arts, like all Angels for that matter, love nothing more than practicing their specialty. Unfortunately, I must ask you to join Chamuel for the time being so that the survey among the people can be completed more quickly."

Both looked disappointed at Alex, but he immediately said:

"But there's no one saying that you can't indulge in your free time, let's say pursue a hobby."

They looked at him uncomprehendingly.

"Of course, you don't know the concept of hobby. Briefly explained; on Earth people go to work for a certain number of hours a day, then they go home and have free time until the next day. A lot of people practice a hobby in their free time. Some like to play music, others read books like our Jophiel here loves to do, and still others practice a sport. They do this because they enjoy the things they can do in their free time. Now, for example, if for your pleasure you put a copy of the Venus de Milo and a copy of Michelangelo's David in the palace garden I certainly wouldn't mind, the same thing with Rodin's Thinker in the garden, no one would mind. I love to go on a stroll to think and having The Thinker as a visual aid could help to achieve better ideas. If you put a copy of the Salvator Mundi by Leonardo da Vinci in my office, maybe it would inspire us to strive for more peace and mercy. And maybe you could make a list together with your people. Those who want to make something on their own or in groups. Then I can create an island where you, oh I don't know, for example, you can make the sphinx of Giza or the Moai of Easter Island in their full glory, or together with the builders and painters as a leisure project the pyramids. Could be fun for both Angels and humans to be able to see all that in their spare time, in their full glory that is. I saw them when they were just finished, and they were breathtaking. And for your colleagues in music and drama exactly the same. Why not Shakespeare and the Bach suite No. 1 for cello in G? I'm extremely fond of that, you should hear Yo Yo Ma. It's like having an Angel at work on stage, tears come to my eyes every time I hear him play that piece."

Narel and Ariel sat there as if Easter and Christmas had fallen on the same day, and they almost seemed to start drooling. The people in Alexander's intimate circle had gotten wide smiles. Leave it to the boss to turn a rotten situation into an optimistic future.

"Lastly, I would like to ask you to make a list. Which Angels in the music and drama department could be appropriate to be elevated to Archangel."

Now just about everyone was watching with wide eyes. Never before had an Angel been elevated to Archangel; they didn't even know if it was possible.

"What?"

Said Alexander with a bold smile.

"Am I God or am I God and we had already established that I am good. Of course, I can elevate an Angel in rank and of course, I can make a Human soul an Angel."

The mouths around the table fell wide open, no one outside his intimate circle knew this was possible and more than one Angel was getting a little dizzy from the many possibilities this entailed. Alexander, meanwhile, continued quietly:

"You are Laila, and you are the Archangel of wisdom, protector of scientists?"

"Yes, MyLord."

Answered the Angel who was happy to be recognized by her God.

"What is your job in Heaven?"

"Now mainly keeping track of humanity's progress in that field. Father was mainly paying attention to weapons that mankind could use to destroy themselves, therefore we had to keep track of everything. Formerly, like Barachiel, helping humanity make progress. But in the days when we were still allowed to work on Earth, a few thousand years ago more along the lines of knowledge of the stars, the calendar, nature, and so on."

He squeezed his eyes shut a little for a moment.

"And the knowledge we have in Heaven is far ahead of that of man?"

"Yes, MyLord. But not worked out to the extent that mankind could understand it or work with it."

"For example, could you and your people put some knowledge on paper but in such a way that man himself has to make an effort? So not aligned from A to Z. I am talking about the propulsion a spaceship would need to travel much faster. If man were to launch a ship tomorrow with the goal of reaching Mars, that journey would take months to get there and then months to return. And that with a crew of eight at most. That is absolutely inadequate for large-scale research to prepare the colonization of Mars for the arrival of millions of people. Earth now has eight billion people, and they are not advancing in their knowledge, or they are making damned little effort to advance. They must out of necessity go to Mars, the entire solar system, and beyond if they are to survive. Earth is doomed to be at least temporarily unsuitable for human habitation. Humanity needs to leave earth to give the planet a change to repair itself. Earth needs to be off limits to Humans for a few hundred years if it remains just climate change. Are they foolish enough to start a full-scale nuclear war? I have no idea how long it would then take nature to recover. Climate change will cause the entire society to go to shit in a few decades from now at most. No more agriculture possible, no more fishing possible so no more food possible, and all because their greed will get in the way of making drastic changes. I think we are more or less obliged to push them in the right direction. When here are no more Humans on the planet, or very very little, nature can slowly repair and we can help plants and animals trough that disaster. That in itself will be a freaking mess and take a damn effort. The second possibility is to just let everything happen and later create a man 2.0 where we are present from the first moment and stay present. The throne has the DNA of every animal that has ever existed on earth so that will be a headache less to repopulate the planet with animal and plant-life."
