Chapter 6 - Chapter 5: Confession

The echo of countless screams and pleas resounded in the whole training ground. The proud faces of the trainees instantly paled while staring at the young lady in front of them.

The young lady was wearing a wide smirk as she watched those trainees crawl on the ground. And I couldn't help but feel satisfaction while seeing them beaten black and blue.

"Are you bored again, Vriana?" Veyron asked, and her sister just smirked at him.

After seeing their condition, Vriana just smiled and pulled Haina away. And since Haina was still holding me, I got dragged away with her.

Before I left, I noticed the expression that our instructor was wearing. His face shows that he's used to cleaning the mess that the young lady has made. While Veyron just sighed, unable to believe that his sister could do such things.

But who cares about them? It's better for those soldiers to lose motivation, since that's exactly the reason why I am here. To end this world at the date that was stated in the records.

"Are you pleased?" Haina teased, and I just stared directly at her eyes. "Ah, ah. That won't affect me. I saw you smirking earlier. Don't lie," she continued teasing me.

"I guess there's no more training for today," Vriana declared before pulling me. I slightly frowned at her actions. If I'm not hiding my identity, then her hands might've blown up the moment they touched my skin.

Damn. If that stupid Avenir has seen them in his vision, then I bet he'll laugh non-stop. And he might tease me for centuries.

Well, I hope he won't. Though, I doubt that. The moment I landed on this world, he might've begun observing me through his visions.

But the eyes that continue to glare at me aren't Avenir's. It was different, strange, and intimidating.

I closed my eyes and heaved a breath. It isn't time to be bothered by that. What's more bothersome are these women in front of me, who were busy choosing a dress that'd go along with my hair color.

Earlier, right after we reached the room of this young lady, she and Haina began ransacking her wardrobe to find clothing that would highlight my beauty. They even stated that I don't belong to the horde of burly knights. I'm more suited to the castle while playing a princess life.

Pwe.

If only your brother chose to comply with his destiny, then maybe I'd be lazing around in my castle. And that's the princess life that I want.

But what can I do? I'm already here, and all I have to do is to prevent the changes in the past.

"I swear light pink will highlight her beauty!" Vriana argued with Haina.

"No, no, that color doesn't suit her style! She's more into bold colors! Like dark red!" Haina retorted, making Vriana scoff.

"What are you talking about? Can't you see that she had a princess-like beauty?" This girl won't allow anyone to stop her, huh?

"But dresses like this enhance her elegance!" So is the other one.

But why do they have to fight something as nonsensical as that? Are they even certain that I'm going to wear those fancy dresses?

"Wait..." I mumbled to get their attention. And I guess I really do when they both launch at me.

"So, which one will you choose, Elle? Well, I'll call you Elle, Elleana is so long," the lady asked, and I was about to reply when Haina scoffed at her.

"But, Elleana, this type of clothes is better than the ones in her hands! There's no way you're going to wear a dress that is filled with ribbons in all places!"

Although she had a point, I still won't wear that type of clothing! It makes me feel old, like a madam. Though I'm as old as an empire, I still won't dress like that. So are those sickening princess-like dresses. It's so childish and not suitable for an old hag like me.

If I had a choice, then I'd go with a simple shirt and jeans, similar to the ones that I saw in a faraway dimension. Their varied clothing was better than these overly extravagant dresses.

When they didn't receive a response from me, the two of them continued to bicker like children. As it continued to be prolonged, their simple argument ended up with them raising their voices at each other. While I, on the sideline, was also starting to get annoyed.

They better hope I'll be able to restrain myself. If not, then goodbye, world, and sorry, Akashic Records.

Alright. Breathe, Eloa. They're just children, and you're an old hag. Have a long patience with them. 'If you make a wrong move, you might accidentally distort the past. So, be patient.' I keep reminding myself, but damn, I ain't called as a hot-blooded god in our realm for no reason.

I may act nonchalant all the time, but I know that I'm the worst god to mess with in our realm.

"But milady! Those types of clothing are for children!" Haina retorted while pointing to the pink dress that was adorned by ribbons and jewels.

"And yours was too revealing! Elle's innocent face doesn't suit that type of dress!" the lady fought back.

Though I'm more focused on what she said. Innocent? Is there something wrong with her eyes? If I remember it right, the other gods in our realm called me a lazy villain because of my face and slacking attitude. So what's up with them?

But so what? When was this duo going to stop?

Then the door blasted open and Veyron emerged. Goodness, I hope he'll stop this too and let me out of this nonsense.

"Veyron, what are you doing here? Aren't you training the newly recruited knights?" Vriana inquired while giving him an annoyed look.

Haina, on the side, remained silent, but she's glaring at Veyron.

"Uh, did I come at the wrong time?" Veyron could only summon an awkward chuckle before replying to Vriana's inquiry. "About that, there's no more knight in training because of someone who beat them up."

"Well, it isn't my fault that they're a weakling," Vriana shrugged.

"That's why they're called a newbie for a reason!" Veyron acts as if he wants to cry.

Vriana was quieted for a minute before retorting.

"W-well, who cares? Can't you see that they're openly mocking our innocent Elle here?" she roared like a dragon with invisible flames.

Hmm, maybe she was a dragon in her past life? A red one at that. Should I check it later at the Akashic records?

But why is she pushing the fact that I'm innocent-looking? Do I really look like that?

So, I subtly looked at a mirror that was sitting atop the vanity table. And a woman with long black hair and silver eyes that glimmer like stardust caught in still water. A symmetrical face partnered with a sharp jawline that was softened by full, pinkish lips. A cheek that was slightly flushed and a nose that was perfectly sculpted by a sculptor. And the eyes that were adorned with long eyelashes and thick but perfectly shaped eyebrows.

That is how I could see myself in a mirror. Nothing reflects an innocent feature. Well, that'd be possible if I had doe-shaped eyes. But I don't. So what do these mortals see me as?

Indeed, Avenir was right. Humans are strange creatures.

My train of thought was interrupted when I heard Veyron spout.

"Alright. I'll deal with them. As if I can ignore people who undermine their colleagues just because of their gender," he said, and that's only probably to appease Vriana's hatred, so I didn't expect anything.

"Good." Vriana smiled in satisfaction. "Now, go! Haina and I are having a debate, so leave."

I could hear Veyron heave a sigh. "But, I need to talk to you. This is an important matter, Vriana." His eyes were pleading with her to at least pretend to be listening.

"Fine."

"But can we talk, with just the three of us?" his voice trailed off, and he took a glance at me. That alone made me guess what he wants to imply.

Though, I can't retort since I'm an outsider, and that's normal.

Vriana's face turned conflicted, and I could tell that she couldn't upfrontly tell me to leave.

Sigh.

"I'll excuse myself for a bit." I flashed a smile before leaving that room.

Then the smile turned into a smirk.

Yes! I'm finally free from those two!

I was about to walk away when I heard what Veyron had told those two. Even though I'm a bit far, my excellent hearing was able to catch what he said. And there's no way I'll ignore those.

My head tilted hastily towards the door where I came from. And there, I heard the exact words that Veyron has stated.

"Vriana... Haina... I need your help." he hesiatated. "Because I'm losing my mind. I might've lose my mind, before I succeed in what am I supposed to do. And I don't want that. I don't want to lose my family on the second time..."
