After experiencing their near-death experience, Raditz earnestly warned everyone that training should be done in moderation! The consequences of pushing too far were terrible—even now, Raditz felt a certain dread whenever he entered the gravity chamber.
The final gravity multiplier had reached 159 times Earth's normal gravity. This level had rendered them completely immobile—definitely not something they could challenge right now. If Goku hadn't cut the power in time, he and Vegeta might have been in serious danger.
Fortunately, when Bulma had suggested an independent power supply, Raditz had declined. Otherwise... he still shuddered thinking about what might have happened.
Nevertheless, the incident had given Vegeta a new appreciation for the intensity of gravity training, making him respect this seemingly ordinary building.
The next day, their real training began.
Vegeta claimed the training room on the spaceship for himself, while the others used the ground facility in two groups. The Saiyans and Piccolo conducted high-intensity, high-multiplier training, while the others reluctantly waited for them to finish before entering.
At first, everyone stuck to basic physical training—squats, push-ups, and similar exercises—before moving on to practicing punches and kicks once they became more accustomed to the gravity. After just one day of training, Vegeta had fallen in love with this training environment.
Some people hate monotonous routines, but others thrive on them and can devote their entire lives to mastering one thing. A punch practiced tens of thousands of times without slacking, just to increase its speed by 0.01 seconds—this was the Saiyan way.
It was precisely this characteristic that made the so-called warrior race grow stronger and stronger.
Another two weeks passed as everyone pushed themselves to the limit, trying their best to raise their strength to a stable and higher level. Meanwhile, Bulma completed the Space Dragon Ball Radar and replenished enough fuel for the large spaceship to last a month. The day of departure was approaching—they would soon venture into space aboard the "HOPE," journeying into the vast galaxy.
On departure day, everyone gathered at Bulma's house.
Master Roshi came just to see them off. Chiaotzu and Yamcha wouldn't be joining the mission either. They felt their strength lagged too far behind and decided to continue training in the gravity room, not wanting to hold the others back. Gohan had finally received Chi-Chi's approval to go, largely thanks to Uncle Raditz's intervention. Compared to Goku, Raditz was much more reliable in Chi-Chi's eyes.
Even those boarding the spaceship had different motivations.
Vegeta wanted to test his strength—he had defeated Goku and then Raditz. Nappa had no choice but to follow his boss. Piccolo had initially been reluctant to join, but he worried about falling too far behind the Saiyans in power. Another reason was that Gohan would be going—he found Goku's son much more agreeable than Goku himself.
The rest felt obligated to save the planet.
"Goodbye! Work hard out there! Next time, when I'm stronger, I'll join you guys again. Hahaha!" Yamcha waved to everyone, and Puar also said goodbye.
Raditz responded with a polite yet awkward smile. But secretly, he sighed: You may not have many opportunities to shine in the future, but I'll try to make sure you at least appear now and then.
"Tien..." Chiaotzu was about to speak when a hand pushed him aside.
A blonde woman with a gun in her hand stepped forward. "Tien, you better come back alive. I'll be waiting for you!" Launch was in her blonde state, her explosive appearance almost resembling a Super Saiyan.
Even Tien was startled—all three of his eyes widened at once, and a drop of cold sweat ran down his face.
"Chi-Chi, Bulma, Master Roshi, everyone—we're off! We're leaving Earth in your hands." Goku laughed and waved, looking forward to the upcoming journey.
That was just like him—always able to face everything optimistically, but absolutely serious when the situation called for it.
Chi-Chi clutched her handkerchief and sobbed as she said goodbye to Goku and Gohan, while the Ox King kept patting her back to comfort her.
"Don't worry, Goku. I'll reluctantly protect Earth on your behalf," Master Roshi said with a smile.
"That'll just make things worse, old man."
"Oolong, what did you say?"
"He's right. It's more dangerous with you claiming to protect us."
"Bulma, you too...?" Master Roshi was shocked and sighed deeply, causing everyone to laugh.
Inside the spaceship, Vegeta waited impatiently. "Kakarot, let's go!"
"Coming!"
Goku was the last to enter the spaceship. The hatch closed, and the massive round vessel soared into space.
"Wow, will they be okay? After all, those two Saiyans are from the evil side."
"With Goku and Raditz there, don't worry." Master Roshi leaned on his cane and looked up at the sky, silently cheering everyone on. When the ship disappeared from sight, he showed a lecherous smile. "Ah... now that all the young fighters are gone, I'd better spend some quality time with you, Bulma, while these old bones still can."
The moment he turned around, a heavy fist slammed into the old master's face, nearly sending him into orbit...
The vast, pitch-black universe was silent and desolate. Countless planets revolved in the deep darkness, silently reflecting transparent light. A distant nebula dimly shone with bright white crystal specks, while brilliant purple gaseous clouds rolled around its edges. The cosmic vision seemed covered in frost and shrouded in mist and dust, revealing a psychedelic beauty.
The infinitely vast universe was full of unknowns, and it was this mysterious quality that attracted explorers and seekers.
Inside the ship, Vegeta steered their course. After entering the predetermined orbit, he set the vessel to automatic flight, heading toward the position shown by the Dragon Ball Radar. Before their departure, King Kai had communicated with Raditz, telling them that Turles' whereabouts were uncertain since he frequently changed his itinerary. The reason Turles dared to boast that he wasn't afraid of Frieza was because he had the advantage in guerrilla warfare.
Otherwise, Frieza could defeat him with just one finger. Frieza's forces likely turned a blind eye to Turles as long as he stayed reasonably out of trouble.
But no matter where he went, the Dragon Ball Radar could track him.
As the spaceship continued forward, everyone prepared to start training. The internal gravity room was relatively small, accommodating only three people at a time, so they had to arrange a schedule and take turns. They had only seven Senzu beans. To conserve them, Raditz stipulated that no one should push themselves too hard during training to avoid using up the beans too quickly.
Besides the gravity room, the washing and sleeping quarters were quite comfortable, and various leisure equipment was available. Raditz had specially requested the best sound system and loaded it with "Dandan Heart Charm", which he had remembered and asked someone to compose and record. Listening to this song while training or relaxing was definitely a special enjoyment.
