Chapter 7 - -7-

We hadn't even reached the Disciple Pavilion when someone intercepted us.

A fair-skinned young man stood there with rosy lips and white teeth. He held a uniquely designed light sword in his arms. His ink-blue hair was tousled and he wore a short robe embroidered with exquisite cloud patterns. His long slender legs were completely exposed. The whole look gave off this weirdly alluring vibe.

His skin was pale white and his features were soft. Those innocent brown eyes looked pure as crystal. Just one smile from this guy could make anyone's heart skip a beat.

As he walked the diagonal hem of his dark robe brushed against those exposed thighs. The contrast between his pure appearance and somewhat provocative outfit created this striking effect.

Classic case of drawing a woman but insisting it's a man!

Those perverted senior brothers back at the sect would definitely let their imaginations run wild seeing this scene.

Chu Yunshu, supposedly the second young master of some major merchant guild. Despite being two years younger than me he'd already reached Level 3. A genuine young prodigy.

My mouth twitched. I'd been planning to take my new Junior on a detour before Yunshu spotted us. But the guy had incredibly sharp senses and locked onto us both before I could even turn around. He waved at us cheerfully.

"Senior Brother!" His voice was soft and sweet, nothing like a boy's voice at all.

I could only respond with an awkward but polite smile.

Yunshu clasped his hands together and bowed deeply to me. "Thank you for your guidance on cultivation Senior Brother. You helped me break through to Level 3. Now that I've stabilized my realm I came specifically to express my gratitude."

The guy's expression was dead serious and his tone sincere. But I just felt my liver ache listening to him.

What the hell do you mean I helped you break through to Level 3? I'm still stuck at Level 1, how could I help you with jack shit!

Sure I'll admit I spouted some random bullshit back then. But you joined the damn Wind Spirit Moon Shadow Sect and just happened to break through. Why are you showing off in front of me over and over again?

Meanwhile I'd been stuck at Level 1 for eight years without making a damn bit of progress. For a moment I had only one thought: I'm tired. Just let everything burn.

But I still had to maintain my dignity as senior brother on the surface. This made everything incredibly awkward!

Just then my white-haired loli junior sister popped out from behind me.

Yunshu seemed enthusiastic. "Senior Brother is this your new junior?"

In less than a day news that I'd taken on a junior for Heavenly Jade Peak had spread throughout Celestial Gate. This was all thanks to a certain unnamed core member of my so-called fan club.

"That's right Junior. Xiao Sumin, I just took her as my junior yesterday."

My words made Sumin quickly swallow the "Senior Sister Yunshu" that had almost slipped out. Who could blame her when cute Yunshu looked so deceptively feminine?

"Senior Yunshu you just mentioned that Senior Brother helped you break through to Level 3. What exactly happened?" Seeing how I got along with this boy, Sumin asked the question that was clearly bothering her.

Yunshu was happy to explain: "Half a month ago I felt like I'd been stuck at the final bottleneck of Level 2 forever. Looking for a breakthrough opportunity I decided to ask Senior Sulan for advice. After sparring with me, Senior pinpointed exactly what I was lacking. I had an epiphany and broke through on the spot..."

Sumin listened in complete amazement. She'd thought she had a pretty good grasp of my abilities. But the more she interacted with me the more she realized she barely scratched the surface.

A few simple words could help someone advance an entire major realm. Senior Sulan is truly unfathomable!

I could only smile on the outside while cursing internally.

After that incident the weird rumors about me had multiplied. Rather than feeling proud I was worried sick!

The higher they lifted me up the harder I'd fall later. Countless historical lessons had proven this point.

One rumor was particularly ridiculous: "Sparring with Senior Brother makes you stronger." It made me want to hang whoever started and spread that nonsense out to dry for a hundred and eighty days!

"Just a small favor. Don't worry about it." I could only fake magnanimity. When I was a measly Level 1 and Yunshu was at Level 2 peak I couldn't handle him. Now that the guy had reached Level 3 I definitely couldn't handle him! "I was just about to take my junior sister to the Disciple Pavilion to register and get her identity token. There are some follow-up matters to handle so we'll take our leave now."

What if other elite disciples caught wind of this and came to challenge me? That would be a disaster.

At the end of the day I was just a fake senior brother. If I really ran into some shameless fool I might end up completely disgraced. Then my junior sister would be utterly disappointed in me and leave in anger. I wouldn't be able to stay at Celestial Gate anymore...

To prevent all that from happening all I could do was grab Sumin and make a quick escape.
