Chapter 6 - Chapter 3: The Turning Point (Part Two)

I couldn't control it, I felt everyone around me the neighbors, Leo's, Orion's, pretty much everyone in town. Orion rushed over when he heard my screams leaving the food cooking on the stove unattended. I suddenly started to cry, laugh, scream, and I was so angry all at once I felt like my head was going to explode! Orion knelt next to me and tried to use the device on me again. He tried again, and again, and again but it wouldn't work. I was suddenly so blinded with rage I had no idea who I was channeling but it was there. I grabbed the device out of his hand and said. "GET THAT AWAY FROM ME!" I snatched it out of his hands and threw it on the floor smashing it. I then, tried to attack Orion and Leo had to hold me back. "Luna stop, it's not your emotions you have to stop. Channel my calmness." I tried my hardest to channel Leo's calmness but I ended up giving him my anger, which caused Leo to transform into a tiger and started attacking Orion since he had no control over what he did while he was transformed.

"Leo, control." Orion said putting his hands up. Leo, as a tiger, shook his head as if trying to get back in control of his animal form but he ended up attacking Orion. Orion picked up a piece of stone and shaped it into a shield. Wait what? I thought when I saw Orion create a shield out of stone. I felt a wave of fear coming from Orion but also a sense of calmness which flooded into me and I accidently flooded into Leo which made Leo back away and lay down on the floor with his paws over his head. I felt better, too. Orion sighed with relief then he smelled something burning. "What's that smell…" he said looking over at the stove, realizing he completely forgot about the food in all that chaos. He started to run over then quickly looked at me. "Are you ok?" he asked. I nodded, sitting down with my head in my hands trying to keep the nervous/calm emotion at the front. Leo transformed back into a human, wobbling as he walked over toward me.

"Im so sorry Leo." I said to him ashamed of myself. "It's ok." he paused trying to combat the dizziness.

Leo sat down heavily beside me, rubbing his temples. His breathing was uneven, like he was still adjusting to being back in his human form. "That... that was weird," he muttered, his voice slightly shaky.

Orion had already turned back to the stove, waving a hand to clear the smoke. "Weird is an understatement," he grumbled, tossing the burnt food into the garbage. "But it could've been worse."

I swallowed hard, guilt twisting in my chest. "I didn't mean to mess with your emotions, Leo. I don't even know how I did it."

Leo exhaled, shaking his head. "You helped me calm down. If you didn't do that, I probably would've gone on a rampage." He forced a small, tired smile. "So… thanks, I guess?"

I wasn't sure if I should feel relieved or even more guilty. I kept replaying the moment over and over. Orion's fear, Leo losing control, the way my emotions bled into both of them. If I couldn't control my powers, would this keep happening?

Orion finally turned back to us. "You two need to learn to control your powers," he said, crossing his arms. "Badly. You can't just rely on instinct."

Leo let out a dry laugh. "Yeah, no kidding." He rubbed his eyes, still looking a little disoriented.

All the commotion had made me forget about my head and how badly it still hurt. The blurriness kept going in and out. I could barely see Leo's face.

"We will start in the morning. I'm going to go make you two some food," Orion said, walking back into the kitchen. While he was in the kitchen, Leo explained to me everything that Orion had told him while I was out. About how we come from a bloodline of people who can draw energy from the moon, there are other bloodlines, how our father died, our mothers spell, and why Orion didn't raise us. When Leo finished, I sat there, shocked at everything Leo had just told me. "So our mother placed a spell on us when we were young?" I remembered that in the dream but I didn't realize that she had been trying to hide us. I looked at him skeptically. "But why? Why did she hide us." Orion interrupted, bringing plates of food to the table. "Because the Eclipse Order is after you." Orion put a plate infront of me, Leo, then put a plate where he'd be sitting while Leo and I stared at him. "Huh?" I asked breaking the silence. Orion sat down where he put his plate of food. "It's an order that is jealous of your bloodline. These are the same people who killed your mother and father. Their goal is to eliminate your bloodline completely."

He stopped to take a bite of his food. "But why do they hate us so much?" I asked while Leo nodded, wanting to know the answer to that question. Orion put his fork down and finished his bite before finally saying, "Because you are their only rival to power. Without you, they are the most powerful bloodline." Then Leo interjected, "How are we so powerful, though? Wouldn't we only have our powers at night?" Orion shook his head. "No, even during the day the moon is out you can see it. Yes, your a little weaker during the day, but you still have your power which makes you so powerful." I looked at Leo and he looked back at me. "Why haven't they found us yet?" I asked. "The house is hidden, which is why they are unable to find us but we don't have too long before we have to leave." He finished his food and sat up. "I will help you learn to use your powers for two days, then we will leave." He said, taking Leo's and my plates to the sink. Leo and I looked at each other and grinned. This was a completely new experience for us, and we couldn't wait to learn. Then, Leo and I looked outside and realized it was morning already. Once Orion finished cleaning the plates, he looked at us. "So, ready to start learning?" he asked which we both replied yes.
