After that, the scene shifts — many days later, Xiao Yi's family receives a letter stating that Xiao Yi is eligible for admission as a C+ rank warrior. Seeing this, her father, Mr. Smith, becomes extremely happy. He calls Xiao Yi over and says,
"Very good! You've done really well."
Then he turns to Xiao Yi's mother, Xiao Xiya, and says,
"Today, you've truly touched my heart. After so many years of rejection and disappointment, I finally feel hopeful for the future of the Lingyi family."
Xiao Yi looks at both of them and gives a very casual smile. In her mind, she's thinking:
"So they're convinced now? I was always sure I would pass this test. After all, it's just an average-level score — nothing too impactful or emotional.
Maybe... maybe my years of acting have been a little too convincing.
Anyway, it wasn't me — it was my brother who used to be a B+ rank student."
Now let's talk about Knight School — rankings there are based on class performance and potential. The highest is S+, followed by S, then A+, A, B+, B, C+, C, D+, D, and the lowest ranks are E+ and E.
My current ranking is C+, which is considered an average student score. So it's not a big deal. For now, there's still time before I have to go to Knight School. Which means — it's time to complete some unfinished business.
The scene shifts to night.
Xiao Yi is in her room, wearing a slim, black-colored outfit — her training uniform. Over that, she puts on a black mask that covers her nose and mouth. She ties her white hair into a high ponytail, then jumps straight out of her window.
While in midair, she creates two black magic circles beneath her feet and lands on them. Then, she uses a spell called Thunder Speed, accelerating her movement rapidly.
While traveling, she thinks:
"Magic alone isn't bad… and I still have a lot of time.
But I still need to hurry."
A flash appears in her eyes — a black glint filled with intensity.
"Shadow Walk Technique."
This technique, truthfully, does not originate from this world. It comes from the past world.
After activating it, her entire form turns into black streaks of light, and she begins to move at incredible speed. Mountains, lakes, forests — she cuts through all of them in seconds.
She slices through tangled jungle vines, her speed unrelenting. Eventually, she reaches the edge of an isolated island.
"So… I've finally arrived."
