Location:Night City – Edge of Santo DomingoTime: Two days after activating the Cybertronian beacon
The air had changed.
Bee stood still on a rooftop, his sensors on high alert. Lucy was beside him, rifle at the ready. Below, the city pulsed with life runners, corpos, and fixers none the wiser to the hunt now unfolding.
Because Bee knew something was stalking them.
The signal they activated had echoed farther than expected. Not just to Cybertronian ears… but to those aligned with darker frequencies.
A predator was loose in Night City.
Scene: Kabuki Slums
The first attack had come at night quiet and surgical. A ripperdoc clinic known for "weird implants" was found gutted. No survivors. Just marks on the wall that weren't bullets or blades.
Glyphs.
Cybertronian glyphs. Decepticon markings.
Lucy stared at the carnage through a hacked CCTV clip, visibly disturbed. "This wasn't a cyberpsycho. This was precision. Purpose."
Bee didn't speak he couldn't explain how he felt the killer moving through the city like a cold wind through a graveyard.
And then Rogue called.
Rogue's Briefing – Afterlife (Private Booth)
She met them under heavy security. Lit cigarette in one hand, shard in the other.
"You kicked a hornet's nest, Bee," Rogue said, narrowing her eyes. "I traced the beacon's residuals. Someone intercepted it. Not from Earth. This thing… it infiltrates."
Lucy leaned forward. "What are we dealing with?"
Rogue slid a photo across the table. It was blurry but clearly showed a tall, shadowy figure leaping across buildings with clawed limbs and glowing red optics.
Designation: Specter Unit – Sub-Vocal Drone of Soundwave.
Rogue's tone turned cold.
"It's hunting you. And it doesn't just kill. It listens."
Bee's fingers twitched. The same feeling of being watched hadn't stopped for days.
Scene: Outside a Ruined Megabuilding – Heywood
Night fell. Rain scattered neon light across broken concrete.
They were waiting for a contact.
A street kid young, maybe seventeen named David. Bee spotted him from a distance. Not enhanced much yet. Just a lean build, smart eyes, and a jacket two sizes too big.
David glanced around nervously before walking up.
"You the ones looking into the weird tech?" he asked. "I got something you need to see. Found it in my building's sub-basement."
Before Lucy could respond a whistle cut through the air.
David froze. His eyes widened.
"Run."
A blur dropped from above, crashing between them.
Metal limbs. Elongated frame. Razor-sharp arms.
The Specter had arrived.
Fight: Bee vs. the Specter
Bee activated his blade and lunged, Lucy dragging David to cover.
The Specter anticipated Bee's moves mimicking his speed. Every strike Bee landed, the Specter adapted. It wasn't just fast it was learning.
Lucy fired off rounds that barely slowed it.
Bee tried to speak issue a soundblast command from his voice modulator.
But that was its plan all along.
The Specter's chest opened launching a high-frequency sonic disruptor. Bee staggered.
Then
SLICE.
A claw rammed into Bee's throat crushing his voice modulator with surgical precision.
The scream caught in his chest. No sound came out.
Lucy screamed his name, rushing forward but the Specter vanished in a blur of shadow, retreating into the darkness, mission accomplished.
Bee collapsed.
His optics flickered. He tried to speak.
Nothing.
Just silence.
Lucy cradled Bee in the rain, panicked and furious. David stood nearby, shocked and speechless.
Bee looked up at the night sky stars blurred behind raindrops.
And then one faint signal pulse echoed from somewhere deep in the city.
Others had heard the call.
And they were coming.
