His pov ..
I was returning home after the daily work and chaos I really like to do with Josh, it was really highlight of my day.
Oh , right i have to find her ...
Earlier I couldn't cuz i was in a bit of hurry.
I look around the corner , behind the pole ,under the cars , asked the neighbors, and Noone knew where she was ...
Maybe someone took her ? Maybe some psycho killed her !? Did she ran away ?
Aaeeeh !! No way she would run away , she knows how much I adore her !
What if someone cared more about her and took her home !!
Honestly deep down i would be really happy if someone did that .
I bought some cat food to lure her and started calling her out showing off the food.
Kanu ? I bought some food for you . Kanu ?
Kanaka ?! Where are you , i know u love me , come out please..
That feline silently jumps on him , he supported her bending at bit and approached to feed her .
"You know this is exactly why I named her Kanaka, she stares into my soul with her dark yellow eyes .
I know , the names perfectly suits her Golden ,smug and always judging.
I want to take her home ...
No I would like my mental peace , there is already too much turmoil in my home sweet home.
But I believe that if there is everything already on fire - whynot try adding fireworks ? Let's go with a sparkly bang !?
As slick as possible, i try to glance by opening the main door as slow as possible after scanning through the window glass panels..
I wanted to avoid the boss as much as possible but since u live in boss's home aka my home sweet home you really can't, right
--- In the kitchen, late evening. Mom is chopping vegetables a bit too aggressively. Swarna walks in, holding Kanaka awkwardly like a loaf of judgmental bread.
Me (half-muttering):
"Ma... can we talk about the feline elephant in the room?"
Mom (without looking up):
"If you're referring to that whiskered thing scratching my cushions—no."
Me (trying a smile):
"Technically, she only scratched the ones you already didn't like. She's helping you redecorate."
Mom (glares):
"Swarna."
Swarna (sighs, puts Kanaka gently on the counter—she immediately knocks over a spoon):
"Okay, okay, serious now. Look… I know she's a bit much. But so am I. And you're still stuck with me."
Mom:
"I didn't pick the cat. At least with you, I had nine months to prepare."
Swarna (mumbles):
"Great. So give me eight months and a week to convince you?"
Mom (quiet for a beat):
"...What if she brings fleas?"
Swarna:
"I'll get her vaccinated, bathed, brushed, whatever. She's clean. She's not a stray anymore, Ma. She's—"
(glances at Kanaka who is now staring at Mom like she owes her rent)
"—weirdly attached to this house. Like all of us."
Mom (sighs, softer):
"...She better not touch my tulsi plant."
Swarna (grinning):
"Deal. She only eats my dignity."
Kanaka:meows like she owns the kitchen ..
