"Cass, would you like to remain in that clone? or are you returning to the [mind] space?" asked can.
".. i guess I'll return to the [mind] space. I've already done what i had wanted to do.."
Cass took a deep breath, and then retreated to the [mind] space.
her body fell lifeless. can felt bad about just leaving the body lying there.
can used another one of his own abilities.
[null]. it was the opposite of [structure]. it converted anything into divine energy, though the user would not be able to absorb such divine energy without wasting more of his own.
of course, the basic rules of divine energy control still apply.
'everything has divine energy, no matter how small the amount is, and the divine energy will always provide resistance to foreign divine energy.'
'while [null] can theoretically turn anything into energy, if the object or person has more divine than the user. the skill will fail...'
'i could always make techniques to bypass some of the restrictions on the skill... but with my skill level... I won't get anywhere...'
can used [null] on the body. the air grew thicker. the body was slowly turned into divine energy, but the energy was tainted... it was impure...
'i hate using this fucking skill... it always turns the mood head over heels..'
a soft whisper cut through the tension "...can..? is anything wrong?"
"... no... lets go."
can roughly picked Sven up from his neck and threw him into the shadow of a nearby tree.
"stay in the shadow... only leave when i tell you"
can departed towards the house.
Sam's voice cuts through can's mind.
"can, I have a bad feeling about this, please be careful"
can took Sam's advice to heart, and instantly deployed a few magical barriers.
"thank you sam.. i will.."
almost as if summoned... hundreds of yokai parade across. weaving a dance of tradition and power.
"... Sam.. do you perhaps have a precognition spell?"
a dark cloud followed behind them. covering the terrain in dark shadows, and blocking away the moon.
a woman walks calmly at the head of ]the yokai. a large biwa in her hands.
she wore a traditional Jūnihitoe, it was lined with suzu bells across the sleeves and edges. her purple-blue hair was styled to perfection, and her face was hidden by a fox mask. which failed to hide her piercing purple eyes.
every pluck of her biwa's strings sent pulses of divine energy across the land. followed by the jingling of bells, the same ones that clung onto the woman's clothes.
"what the hell... is it the Hyakki Yagyō or something??"
"master, what's a Hyakki Yagyō?" whispered Sven from a nearby shadow.
"it's the 'night parade of a hundred demons'... but this sounds different... there's music involved.. and i could count over a thousand yokai just behind that woman..."
the woman gave the biwa to a nearby Yuki-onna. all the yokai stopped dancing. the music halted for heartbeat, then began anew, flutes and drums shook the earth and sky. balanced only by the calming bells of the woman's.
the woman stepped forward. floating gracefully in the sky. her bells jingled once - the weather cleared. and the moon shimmered behind her once again.
The Kagura Began.
a show for the gods. an invitation laced with gold.
Divine Presence descended upon the land. the yokai didn't bother to resist, they simply bowed.
only the woman remained unfazed.
can on the other hand. he tried to remain standing.
a mistake.
kami noticed can... the one who stitched hundreds of universes together... a ripple too big to ignore..
kami's presence turned hostile... the weaker yokai fell unconscious. the stronger ones spit blood.
but the woman? still unfazed.
as the kagura unfolded. the woman floated downward with every move, eventually stepping on the ground Infront of can.
"prepare intruder... kami has deemed you unwelcome... and i am their hand."
