Chapter 9 - The incident 2

"Man you got bad luck" she said while laughing.

"It ain't funny I almost died" he said with a frown.

"But you didn't, luckily i was here" she said with a charming smile on her lips.

"Yeah lucky me i guess" Casper said

He paused for a second and then looked at her.

"So what is your name????", Casper asked.

"I thought you would never ask" she said.

"Sorry I forgot to ask" Casper said while rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment.

"So what is your name?," Casper asked again.

She studied him for a while before answering. Casper felt his cheeks heat up as her eyes scanned him.

"My name is Deborah, but you can call me Debbie," she said.

"Thanks again Debbie for saving my ass back there, I really thought I was a gonna for a minute." Casper said with a chuckle.

"And my name is Casper," he added.

"You're welcome Casper," she said while jumping down the alley walls.

"And try not to die," her voice rang out from afar.

"I will try, but I ain't promising anything," Casper said.

He heard her clear melodic laughter from afar.

"Whatever you say Casper" she said

Casper rested on the alley walls for a while, before coming down from it.

"Bzz, bzz ," his phone rang out.

Taking it out of his pocket, he saw that the caller was Cassie. Picking it up, he answered.

He heard a cacophony of worried voice from the other end of the phone.

"Ooh my God, Casper you're alive, we thought those dogs tore you to shred! ," Cassie said with a tone of worry.

"Where're you bro," Henry asked.

"Are you ok?,are you hurt?," joe voice could be heard asking through the phone.

"Yes, I am fine guys," Casper said.

"Where're you bro," Henry asked again.

"Let's meet up at the mana train station, I will explain everything once I am there," Casper said.

"Ok then, see you soon," joe said.

"Please be save," Cassie said before hanging up the phone.

Although they where unable to see him, he still nodded.

After about thirty minutes Casper arrived at the mana train station.

He took this long because he avoided every route that might take him to those darn dogs.

Getting to the mana train station, Casper saw his friends, they were moving around with looks of worry on their faces.

"Where the hell is he?," Henry asked.

"It has been thirty minutes already, why isn't he here yet?," Cassie added.

"Guys what-if Casper is in trouble or something?, what if those dogs got to him," joe asked, his voice laced with worry.

Seeing how worry they where about him, Casper felt touched.

"Hi guys" Casper said softly.

They immediately stopped what they where doing and rushed towards him while bombarding him with questions.

"Casper, ooh my god are you okay?," Cassie asked while turning him around to see if he had any injuries.

"Did those dogs get you?," joe asked.

"Are you in pain," Henry asked.

"Quickly joe, go get some water for him," Cassie said.

Joe ran to a store and bought some water for Casper.

Handing the water to Casper, Casper drank the water greedily while the others waited from the side for him.

After he was done drinking, they continued their questions.

"I am fine guys," Casper said while wiping his mouth.

"How did you survive those dogs bro," Henry asked.

Casper sighed before he started explaining everything that happened after they separated.

The others had their jaw opened as they listened to him, disbelief was clearly written on their faces.

" Man I was so scared, I nearly shat my pants in fear," Casper said

"Ooh my, I fell so sorry for you," Cassie said while pulling him in for a hug.

Casper continued telling his story.

"When my back was against the alley wall, I really thought that I would die there, you know?, I thought my life was going to end in a lonely, dirty alley way," Casper said while gritting his teeth.

"But luckily, someone was on the alley wall and they just so happened to have a rope with her," Casper said with a sigh.

"Wow man, thank goodness man" Henry said.

"Was she cute?," joe asked.

"Come on man". Henry said while slapping joe at the back of his head.

"Awww," joe winced in pain while rubbing the back of his head.

"She was indeed cute, her green eyes where mesmerizing, and her voice was like a sirens call , her laughter was like the sweetest song I have ever heard," Casper said with a dreamy look.

"Ooh looks like someone is in love" joe said with a grin.

"What's her name bro" Henry asked.

"Her name is Deborah or Debbie for Short," Casper said.

"Did you collect her number," Henry asked.

"Uum , no I didn't," Casper said while rubbing the back of his head.

"Too bad then," joe said.

After talking for a while, they boarded the mana train.

Getting home Casper immediately collapsed on the bed and slept off. Today's event had completely drained all the energy out of him.

Casper was woken up by the relentless buzzing of the alarm clock.

He groaned in annoyance as he stood up from the bed. His body was still sore from yesterday's unexpected marathon.

He stretched his body and then winced in pain while clutching the side of his ribs.

"Damn those dogs ,if I ever catch them, I will make sure to twist their necks until they die," he swore with anger in his tone.

All of a sudden his eyes widen in realization, he realized that he didn't carry anny from Mrs Sandra's house.

"Fuck, I forgot to pick anny up from Mrs Sandra's home," he said while running out of the room.

He was about to run out of the room when he saw anny sleeping soundly from the sides of his eyes.

"Pww, I thought anny was still in Mrs Sandra's home!," Casper released a sigh of relief.

Dragging his feet's of the floor, he begrudgingly went to the kitchen, and as usual his mom was already up.

She looked over from the kitchen counter and studied him for a while.

"You look like you just got run over by a bus," Mrs Margaret Atah said while making her way to him.

"Are you ok, sweetie?," she asked, a look of worry in her eyes.

"Good morning, mom " he responded with a tired tone.

"Good morning, sweetheart, what happened to you?, you look worse for wear"she said.

"That's because I am," he responded with a yawn.

"What happened?," she asked again.

"I noticed that you looked really tired yesterday when you were sleeping, you even forgot to pickup your little sister," she said with a tone of worry.

"Sorry mom, I was really tired and it skipped my mind," Casper responded with an apologetic tone.

He hesitated for a second before telling his mom what happened yesterday.

Mrs Margaret horror and disbelief as casper recounted what transpired yesterday to her.

"So you are telling me that those dogs chased you out of all your friends?," she ask with a bewildered look.

"Yes mom," he said with a nod

"But, you are much skinner than they're, you wouldn't even be much of a meal to them!," Mrs Margaret said.

Ignoring the facts that she just roasted him Casper responded.

"That was exactly what I said," he responded.

He continued with his story, when Mrs Margaret interrupted him again.

"What?, a third dog joined?," she asked with her eyes widen in shock.

Casper nodded at her questions while continuing.

"I reach a dead end at the alley way, and when all hope seemed to be lost, someone threw a rope from the top of the alley way, and I used it to climb up, he said.

"That was how I was able to escape certain death" Casper sighed.

"So someone just so happened to beat the alley walls with a rope?," she asked .

"Yes, mom," Casper answered

"That sounds cliche, you know?," Mrs Margaret said.

"It sure does, but at least I'm alive," he said .

"I will have to report this issue to animal control, they have to do something about this dogs before they do something awful," she said with annoyance.

Casper nodded in agreement to her words.

"So, who's she?," she asked with excitement in her tone.

"Who's who?," Casper asked with confusion.

"Don't play dumb, the girl who saved you" she said while smiling from ear to ear.
